ActionScript 3.0 :: Stopping Movie Sounds During Website Navigation

I have a Flash site I'm developing which has a section with various flv movies. When I click on the section, the 1st movie starts automatically and plays fine but if I navigate to another area of the website before it finishes, the sound still plays in the background. If I click on a different movie thumb, the sound stops as it should.
how to code this in AS 3?
I'm learning it right now but still very green and I have no idea of how to make the music stop.
i got this scene, with this specific bgm , individual frame layer. and the sounds at another layer. what i want is to stop the sound without stopping the bgm . (yes, i know the above code wouldn't work as it stops all sounds)
Is it possible to stop all sounds that are currently playing in a movie and at the same time stop future sounds that the playhead will encounter on the timeline? Here is the code I'm using on the 'mute' button now:
I just want to stop all the sounds in the splash page. I don't need to give the user the option to start them again. The thing is only 20 seconds long. I just want them to be able to turn off all sounds for their convenience. I found this piece of code: ActionScript Code: import flash.media.SoundMixer; SoundMixer.stopAll(); But how do I write the function/method?
I tried Making the song title as a button, and then I figured out how to make the song play by releasing the mouse button. This works great, however, when I click on the button numerous times, the song starts playing numerous times..
What I would like is to be able to click on my Song_btn once to start the song, and then click again on the Song.btn to stop the song.
or another option is to start the song with the Song_btn, and then some way to just let that song play through.
I have used the "stop all sounds" command when you navigate away from that songs particular page..
The sound I wanted to stop or play are separates into background music and button sound effect. I know you could use SoundMixer.stopAll() to stop all sound, and some how exclude the bg music, IF everything is written in the same class. But what if the sounds are called from others dynamic classes? How could I target them and exclude the bg Music?
I want to have some way that an action could be carried out when somebody makes a noise i.e If a microphone is attached to the computer and somebody coughs then flash will move to the next frame.
I have an FLV file and when I navigate away from it the audio continues to play. The instance name of the FLV is "reel" From other forums I've read that I need use: reel.stop(); however I think my case is different as the buttons to navigate away are all contained within movie clips. Here is the code I am using on my buttons.
I'm doing a project that has a lot of time line animation.There are 5 buttons. Each one plays a multi-frame MovieClip containing sounds embedded in its timeline.Then there is a button that stops any of the playing movie clips. Of course, this doesn't stop the soundsormally, I'd just use...ActionScript Code:SoundMixer.SoundTransform.stopAll();Problem is, I also have non-timeline sounds that I have playing on a loop for background music, and the SoundMixer would stop the music too. But I don't want the music to stop.Doing some research, I think any MovieClip can have a SoundTransform property you can adjust, so I should be able to control the sounds just inside specific MovieClips. But I can't figure it out.
I have three embedded video clips that are inside of movieClips. They I have buttons that take you to a framelabel where those movieClips are located. Each movieClip containing each movie are on separate frames. (See attached image)
When I click on any of the buttons that take me to any videoClips other than the first one, make the audio from the previous embedded Video on the timeline in front of the one I went to , start to play.
I have SoundMixer.stopAll();
on everybutton before I tell it to go anywhere. what to do to only get audio from the video clip in that section of the timeline to play.
I'm trying to make buttons for my website that have sounds playing on them during the over states. But when you move the mouse off the button, the sound keeps playing. Run that mouse everywhere, the sounds are all playing, it's chaos. How do I fix a button so that the sound stops playing when the mouse moves off?
My three navigation buttons on my website ('but1', 'but2', 'but3') are programmed to go to each section on my timeline: 'home', 'pics' and 'contact'. However, whenever I click on my homepage button (but1), it doesn't do anything. The other ones are fine but it's just the home button that doesn't seem to link anywhere. My code is below,
I'm having an issue with my website design and as I'm relatively new to flash I can't seem to fix it on my own. I know what I'm supposed to do, technically, but not sure how to actually implement it. Below is a picture of my timeline: What my problem is that the buttons for navigating my pages (bio, news, projects, links, etc.) are nested inside of my Navigation MC (on the Navigation layer) and so they appear in the timeline (at frame 20) before my content does (frame 70). Because of this, the buttons can't be aimed at the content because their code is run before the content even exists.
I'm guessing that what I need to do is to instantiate my content at a point in the timeline before the navigation/buttons occur... but as the content is the last part of my loading animation, I'm not sure how to do that. I read something about adding the MC's but keeping them invisible, then making them visible again at teh appropriate time, but I don't know how to do that or if it would somehow mess with my animation (everything fades in one item after the other, with the content being the last part).
My favorite error: ArgumentError: Error #2025: The supplied DisplayObject must be a child of the caller.at flash.display:isplayObjectContainer/removeChild()
What I am trying to do is basically get my navigation working correctly. I had it working by altering the alphas of movieClips, but they just end up overlapping each other even if they are invisible so that's not working out. I have 5 navigation pages. And thus, 5 nav buttons, and 5 movieClips (content for each page -- Home, Location, Tenants, Design, Contact). I want to simply show the home movieclip when on the home page and remove the movieclips from the stage for the other 4 pages.
Then, logically, I want to click the Tenants page, which removes the home page, location, design, and contact movieclips. Very straightforward show only one and remove the rest from the stage, but every combination of add/removeChild and parent and stage etc. is giving me that error above. What's confusing me the most is that the add and removeChild works for the location page, but none of the others. The location movieClip is no different than the others, and I made the code the same but it's the only one that works.

I have been asked to create a wheel for navigation similar to on the Visit Provence website. However, I don't know where to start and my Googling effort have been unsuccessful - I guess that I am searching using the wrong terms.It the the way that the wheel moves and interacts with the other segments around it that interests me.
i have a snow effect in a movie with the code below. i want to stop the effect midway through the movie without stopping the movie. how do i use a stop command to do this?
I am designing a website and for the first time I will be trying to implement Flash as a means for navigating the website. I have worked with flash before, but only for animation. I am trying to make a 'Slide-Show' like flash object that flips through slides at a predetermined speed and when a slide is clicked on it takes you to a new page. I need to stop an flv movie when I click a button that is not on the control bar. e.g. I have three pages in flash and when I navigate from the videos page after starting the playback of the movie, the audio from the movie continues to play. I have no idea why this is.
So I am having a problem on my HTML page. I have a flash (.swf) video player that is controlled by AS 3 and the problem I am having is that I need the video player to stop whatever its playing when the user clicks anywhere on the screen.
So my flash skills are pretty rusty. The project I'm currently working on is updating my portfolio site and I have a navigation bar that I want to fade in, click on a link, fade out, then go to the specified link. I've got the animation working the way I like, however I cant get the links to work correctly. I've used the standard getURL commands, but then every button goes to the same link, not different ones.
What Action Script 3.0 coding do I need to make the animation play the way I've described and have each button go to it's own link?
I followed the mp3player tutorial (part 3) from [URL] and got it working fine. Only problem is that the setVolume I'm trying to use with my music is affecting all my other sounds - button sounds and background sound. I'm aware of the createEmptyMovieClip/attachSound approach and got it working on my other sounds. But Lee's tutorial-mp3player is using a slight different technique, and so my normal approach doesn't quite work.
I want to synchronize sounds perfectly to do a kind of Audio Mixer, using different sounds. [URL] does it perfectly, I've been researching and researching and I just don't know how to do it! How does [URL] synchonize audio so perfectly? you can even change sounds and the new ones will come on time! How do I do that? Is it just Action Script? or something else?

im am using this script in my current movie to attach sound using acttion script it also has a stop/start button but i need to now how to add multiple sounds in this way.

I am making a soundboard for a school project. I have made movieclips with the jaws moving on the different people. I have all the movie clips on the same frame with the first frame of each movie clip blank. I have the stop(); command on the main timeline, however when I test the movie the movie clips still play. I am looking for a way to stop these movie clips from playing until the corresponding button is pressed. Is there some sort of "stop all movie clips" function?
