View 5 RepliesI want to build a map like google map with drag, zoom in/out effect. I also want to use tween effect. I want to zoom or drag inside a bounding rectangle. But when I apply tween, the map zoom out of the bounding container_movieclip. How can
I apply tween effect but clip inside the bounding area(like google)?
I'm trying to create a site where all of its sections are laid out side by side and the user can zoom into each section to check it out, just like this site: [URL]I have the actionscript that allows the user move the viewing area around, but im not sure how to incorporate the zooming into it. What I need might be something different entirely. Here's that:
on (release) {
_root.motionx = -950;
_root.motiony = -700.0;
_root.motionScale = 100;
}
I'm developing a web app using Flex. This app allows to draw forms in a Canvas (like MSPaint in Windows).Now, I want a new feature on it: an infinite canvas. The user should be able to drag the main Canvas and this should be infinite in X and Y axis. Consecuently, this Canvas should be resized in real time.
Obviously, I don't want to create a Canvas of 1k x 1k pixels with zoom in an specific area to give the feeling of an infinite drawing area.
EDIT:I just read that Flash/Flex Flash/Air supports canvases up to 4056x4056 px, not infinite.
I'm trying to achieve a simplified version of the move to screen area and zoom nav similar to: [URL]. I've read and completed the macromedia tweening tutorials [URL] and gained overview of tween class etc., So, I created an example (credit :sophistikat) using the macromedia tween class:
Code:
import mx.transitions.Tween;
import mx.transitions.easing.*;
myBtn.onRelease = function () {
//first move to center in one second witih no delay
main_mc.tween("_x", 50, 1, "easeinoutElastic");
main_mc.tween("_y", 50, 1, "easeinoutElastic");
// and in 2 seconds scale closer
main_mc.tween("_xscale", 150, 1, "easeinoutElastic", 2, true);
main_mc.tween("_yscale", 150, 1, "easeinoutElastic", 2, true);
}
The script in layer 1, the bt in layer 2 and the main_mc in layer 3 - all correctly 'instanced'. But not working - the main_mc isn't moving and then zooming in when btn is clicked.
Looking for code to enable zooming in/out on a graphic or movie clip using mouse scrollwheel with origin of scale change being at the mouse cursor position. I have one where it is at top left. I also require it to stay proportional, when applied to a rectangular graphic my code makes it go letterbox on zoom out!

I am using a movie clip with graphics as a cursor.
However, it appears that the actual 'hit' area of the movie clip is related to specifically the normal arrow cursor.
I would like to be able to define an area of the graphic, in this case it's a hand holding a billy club so I'd like just the tip of the billy club the 'hit area.'
Is this possible via AS2.0?
I'm trying to make a movie clip follow my mouse. I have that working. But I want to designate a specific area where this the following of the cursor happens. Outside of this area the house would be visible and functional normally. startDrag("myMovieclip", true);
Mouse.hide();
I have a flash cs3 file where I want a mask to move on the y axis (up and down) when the user is scrolling over the navigation area.
In my code, I have:
maskMC.startdrag();
How do I limit the area where the mask will move, then make it return it back to it's original position when the user moves away from the specific area (in this case the navigation).
My problem is that my final .swf is embedded onto an html page and stretches for the entire width of the users screen. This means that if they have a particularly high resolution, the width of the .swf file stretches significantly beyond the initial stage settings. I'm okay with this, as I really need the .swf to fill the width of the screen.
However, it means that the cursor is able to be pointed more than 100% left or right of the stage, causing the panning image to move further left or right than it should.
What I need to know is how to get around this. I'm assuming I could set a boundary at the left and right of the stage where the code wouldn't be active?
Here's my code:
Code:
this.onMouseMove = function() {
constrainedMove(bg_mc, 4, 1);
constrainedMove(fg_mc, 4, 1);

I'd like to be able to use a pencil image (custom cursor?) to draw in a defined area - its the 'ol pencil drawing a line idea on a pad. I don't know how to define the area? I've tried creating either a btn or mc instance called pad_mc & trying rollOver/Out which confines the pen but not the line. This is what I have so far, which works (ie it draws the line) but obviously it goes everywhere, not just over the mc of the pad.
Code:
createEmptyMovieClip("Line",1);
Line.lineStyle(1, 0x666666, 65);
onMouseDown = function () {
Mouse.hide();
pen_mc.startDrag(true);
[Code] .....
Also, I've got an onClipEvent on my pen_mc to try & define where its allowed to be dragged.
I have a Flash interaction where I exchange the cursor for a hand holding a flashlite mc. The entire stage is black. The cursor drags a mask around that illuminates a small image in another mc on the stage that the user has to find (illuminate).2 problems
1. When the mouse is rolled outside the stage, the custom cursor is still visible.
2. When imported into Captivate 3, and I move outside the stage and over buttons for navigation, the cursor is no longer visible, for the rest of the Captivate movie.
Desired functionality:Custom cursor to be visible only when on the stage area and the normal cursor to be visible outside the stage area. The stage area is 400x330.[code]
I would like to know how to have the cursor visible in non editable Text Area.

Basically, I want to keep it in my navigation area on the top of the stage and not be able to go below it to the rest of the stage.I don't know if it will help or not, but I have the following as my custom cursor code:[code]
View 3 RepliesI know that the image panning has been done to death on these forums, but I was curious if anyone had an AS3 version Krilnon code
from this post titled: AS 2: Restricting cursor area in Interactive Image Pan
here is what Krilnon posted to use in AS 2
import flash.geom.Rectangle;
this.onMouseMove = function() {
constrainedMove(bg_mc, 4, 1, new Rectangle(0, 0, Stage.width / 2, Stage.height));
};

I need to stop my cursor from moving on certain points on the stage. I'm using a magnifying glass effect but in the browser this only show the glass up to the stage so I need to stop it moving past those points. You can see what I mean if you move the magnify glass to the very left or right here:

this is the code I have for the magnify glass:
var moveGlass:Number;
magnifyingGlass.onPress = function() { moveGlass = setInterval(startGlass,1);};function startGlass() { magnifyingGlass._x =

I'm working on my personal portfolio site and desperately need help with some AS3. my knowledge about AS3 is very rudimentary. Hope anyone who's I want to change the pointer cursor to custom movieclip when mouseover different invisible buttons. These buttons are mainly forward & backward button for my gallery. I got some help from other site but still unsolved. Please take a look at my fla attachment to point out what's wrong with the coding. To elaborate a little bit more as what I wish to achieve you can take a look at the sample URL...I just need the pointer cursor to turn to custom mc when it mouseover the hit area of the respective buttons.

I need to put together an editable text area that has a custom caret (cursor) which is different from the default blinking vertical line. Is the caret a "skinnable" property of text input? note that I am not asking about the mouse pointer cursor which can be set using the CursorManager.
View 1 RepliesI have created a small flash movie where the eyes of the character follow the cursor. Its based on this one here Only problem is, it only works while the mouse is actually over the movie. Is there any way to increase the sensitive area to the whole screen without increasing the actual size of the movie?
View 1 RepliesI want to make a scope wich can zoom in on button click and go back to previous stage (zoom out) also by clicking a button.Now i made it work for zooming in (when i click my button it zooms) but when i want to zoom out everything i tried didn't work .Here is the code:
//button for zoom in
zoom.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,glassMove);
function glassMove(event:MouseEvent):void{[code]..............
i've made a button that zooms into a movie clip on a rollover, but it on moves it a certain amount each time you rollover the button. code below:
on (rollOver){
_root.Mypic._width += 5;
_root.Mypic._height += 5;
}
wot i want it to do is to continue zooming in for as long as the mouse is over the button, is there anyway i can change the code to zoom in at the same amount but do it continuously until the mouse is moved off the button. Also is there anyway that i can set it so that the zoom stops at a certain percentage, i.e. it only zooms in so much and then stops. What i mean is that the user can zoom in but the picture will only zoom in to say 200% of the original size.
I am working on flash application TELESCOPE or Camera. My goal is to move around the scene and zoom-in or zoom-out I found that if I move scene, I have to move registration point, because I always want to zoom in the centre of my ocular. So far application works fine only if I move, zoom-in and than before I move any further, zoom-out! But when I move, zoom-in (not fully), move again and zoom-in again, the second zooming doesn't appear on desirable registration point

Using flex / air 2.6 working on an Android device, I am using a canvas with a TransformGestureEvent for zoom in on a map. The listening of the efect is working ok, but I canīt seem to find the information on wether the user intended zoom in or zoom out (fingers getting closer or getting apart).I expected the intention of the gesture to be identifiable with the offsetX and offsetY properties of the event, as you will do on a swipe gesture event. But I always get 0 for both properties, no matter how I do the gesture in the device.How can I know if the fingers getting closer or getting apart in a gesture zoom event?
View 1 Repliesi had a flash file, and the image was dynamically loaded in a movieClip. when i double click the image it will zoom max. and another double click it will retain its best fit.
View 0 Repliesi have a drop down menu am working on and each button tab (although they are not button instances !) when clicked opens up the "drop down" section which you can mouse over to choose another specific button etc - if you mouse out of that drop down area then it pulls back up to the original tab state .. what do i change to the code below to decrease the area that you mouse out of to make the drop down area pull back .....at the moment it at least two inches on the screen below and to the right of boundaries of the drop down box before it pulls up - i want to it pull up as the mouse leaves the boundary box .... hope this makes sense .... there is some part of the actionscipt below that controls this but can work out which bit and how to change it !!! (am guessing the x mouse and y mouse bits - but how to change it ???)
