I'm trying to dispatch MouseEvent for HTML component in an AIR application. This way I want to simulate a click on HTML elements with ActionScript code. Here is my AIR app code:
Suppose, that I need to have a HTML control inside my Flex/AIR app. The user should be able to click somewhere into the currently rendered HTML-page and the flex app should know, which DOM element the user clicked. Ideally, the app would be able to retrieve the DOM path of the selected element. Posting back the innermost surrounding DIV-element to some Flex/AIR method would be fine too.
I was trying to send 4 paragraphs to a .swf element. I have no idea how to what to do. I tried using FlashVars but I feel like i need to drop in some actionscript to be able to work with the vars conceptsNdisciplinesPar=(some text)&cultures&countriesPar=(some text) etc... Is there an easy way to get access to this text in my .swf?
-1 large html (home.html) file houses 2 html files (aaa.html and bbb.html) -aaa.html consists of 1 swf button -bbb.html is empty
question: is it possible to click on the button in aaa.html and have the action occur in bbb.html? (for example, clicking the button in aaa.html will load a swf in bbb.html)
Whenever I right-click on an element from the scene or the library and I click "Edit with Adboe Photoshop CS5" it brings the element into Photoshop really tiny, and even just by clicking back in Flash without having saved the file fom photoshop it makes the flash element tiny, without the abilitiy to Undo.
This is happening on every one of my flash files and files that I didn't even create.
I'm trying to develope a simple elastic menu in AS3 but I have several problems because is difficult understand OOP when I come from AS2. I have a class named "menu" to create a vertical menu with n elements using a MovieClip from the library. It is linked properly as "base_primaria" and with MovieClip class as base class. Every element in the menu is in button mode and when is clicked calls a method (crearsub) to create a submenu.
I have another class named "submenu" that creates a submenu with n elements using a MovieClip from the library. It is linked properly as "base_secundaria" and with MovieClip class as base class. All the elements in the main menu must be relocated depending on the .y position and their .height. For that I'm using a method inside "menu" class named "posicionar". To animate the elements I use TweenLite. The first problem is I want to relocate all the elements through TweenLite and it is not working. Probably the "posicionar" function is wrong. The second problem is I want to click in one element from the main menu and it creates his own submenu. If there is one element with a submenu created, it must to disapear. All the elements must to relocate in real time in every click. Here the "menu" class code:
I have an html page with a flash movie embded in it, that flash movie contains a button. I want to pass the id of an element on the containing html page to the flash movie so that when the button is clicked, I get the text of that element in flash (i.e. innerHTML).
So, my question is basically two questions:
How to pass something from HTML/Javascript to flash? How to access an element on the containing html page from flash? (What ActionScript code is needed to do that?)
I've noticed a problem I've been having when embedding my 620x460 SWF in HTML. I set width to 620 and height to 460, just like my SWF... But parts of the SWF doesn't fit into the HTML element. I have to add a an extra pixel or two on each side (of the HTML element), for everything to fit.
Check out the link below, as you can see my overlay is hidden behind the flash element. However, the blue bar with the 'Continue' button appears above everything. Does anyone know what CSS changes I need to make so the overlay will appear above everything below it? The background loads an iframe.

I can't add wmode="transparent" to the embed tag, since I have no control over the page loaded in the iframe.
I have an HTML document with a Flash object and an absolutely positioned HTML element above it. If I set the HTML element's opacity CSS property to any value less than 1, the Flash object (that is actually covered) receives mouse events. This problem cannot be reproduced with pure HTML elements. Furthermore, Flash only receives hover events, so I cannot click below the layer.I put a demonstration of the problem online.I get this behavior in Firefox 3.6, Safari 4.0 and Chrome 5.0 in both Mac and Windows. Flash plugin version 10 is installed. Is it a bug or the the normal and expected behavior? If the latter, then how can I prevent Flash receiving events when it is covered with a translucent layer?
I have a Youtube video on my homepage, and now I need a modal to display on certain events. For some reason, even when adding <param name="wmode" value="transparent"> to the Flash object, it still covers the HTML elements (with higher z-index too).I've got it on JSfiddle.I figured maybe an iframe could solve this, but that would require me to make a new page just to put the video on.
I'm working on a page that has some ads on it. One of them loads in an ad with wmode=window.I don't have the ability to change that flash code. I need to put a modal box on top of that flash element, but every combination of using z-indexes and iframe shims has failed (both manually and using bgiframe). Is there a way to place html content on top of a flash element with wmode=window? I'm testing this in chrome so far.
I need to get the position (x,y) of the last char in a textField with html text inside. I try with numlines and getLineMetrics, but that only work for non-html text. If I have a text like
Code: <p>text one</p><p>This is the other text</p><br><br>
I need to have the position on the stage of the last "t".
In most browsers, when you have one in focus and you type something, the combobox will try to find the value within its options and show the closest one. I was wondering what kind of algorithm is used for that.I don't think its Levenshtein or similar since it only works with the beginning of the string.I'm thinking that it works by keeping a buffer of what has been written, and tries to find a string starting with that... if it doesn't find anything, it clears the buffer, and searches a string beginning with the last character pressed.I already prototyped this, and it works quite ok, with one caveat... In HTML, when you repeatedly press the same key, it will rotate between all options starting with that character.
I am designing a web application in Flex 4 and currently facing an issue rendering advanced HTML tags and entities in Flex 4. All I want to do is basically render an HTML text coming to me something like the one given below:-
I know that there is no such function as getElementByName in Flex but I also now that you can do this["object_id"] to get the element of the application u're in.What about getting an element inside another element?I've tried making element["id"] ? But in my try-catch it always runs the "catch" part..how do I get an element inside another element just having it's id in dynamically created string form?
I have flash where there is a link for song download. And, at the bottom of the flash I've a count, loaded thorugh flash vars which should increment everytime donload button is hit. Please let me know what approach should i take to do that. can i call a Java method on donload button which will insert a row in the table and and then get the count and render it to the count variable in my flash?
May be this extremely confusing. Here is a very similar example on how it is done. This is actually very similar to what i want to do. [URL] on this link there is count below which increments you hit the download button.
I want to listen both click and double click events for advanced data grid in flex. I have given double click enabled true and written the function in itemdoubleclick but only click is working but not itemdoubleclick
I've built a rather robust tooltip class recently that attaches and draws a single tooltip sprite to the root, then uses MOUSE_OVER to detect when it is over a tooltippable object, and shows the appropriate tooltip text. At the moment, I'm ensuring that any elements in my application which wants to take advantage of showing tooltips implement the ITooltippable interface, and expose a public getter, get tooltip().
Basically I have 14 text boxes, each box draws its content from an external txt file. Next to each text box is a button. I want the button to be either visible=true or visible=false depending on weather or not the text box has content or is "undefined" Here is what I have so far, and it's not working:[code] I would like a FOR loop to just run through the variables and check to see if any of them are undefined. if it is, then make the correct send button invisible.
public var dataAL:Array=[ {Kiv:"cash", jan:26,janTarget:28,feb:27,febTarget:26,mar:30,marTarget:32,apr:31,aprTarget:32,may:28,mayTarget:29,jun:46,junTarget:32,jul:37,julTarget:39,aug:40,augTarget:42,sep:41,sepTarget:42,oct:48,octTarget:49,nov:40,novTarget:41,dec:38,decTarget:40},
[code]....
Now if i want to access febTarget for cash how will i do it?
I've got a spark list that gets dynamically filled. So far the new items appear at the bottom of the list. What I'd like to do is to add them at the top.The items in the list have a unique ID so some kind of sorting mechanism would probably do the trick as the new items have a greater ID than the old ones. What I'd like to avoid is some complex method behind this as I'm working on a mobile platform and the list can get quite big so I need this to be as efficient as possible. The list's data provider is an ArrayList that gets updated using binding.
In Flex Mobile I have a few buttons in the action bar. On devices with very small screen (such as the HTC Wildfire) not all buttons can be shown. Is there a way to tell Flex to hide an element when it doens't fit? I know it is possible by using states and test the width of the screen but I hope there is another way..
Is there a way to put borders around the (MXML) elements of a Flex application? I'm picturing something similar to what Firebug does for HTML with the Inspect button (url...)
I am a newbie in Flex development and using Flash Builder 4 with SDK 4. Now I get the error that "the prefix "fx" for element "fx:Style" is not bound" in line number 4.I searched for it, and it has sth. to do with namespaces, but I can not solve it by myelf.I have the file called "UserStory.mxml" in the directory "components" to place it via the main.mxml onto the screen:
