Actionscript 3.0 :: Targeting An Item Added By A Loop

I know this is simple, but I just can't seem to get it right. I am adding a series words to the stage and want each one to move with an ENTER_FRAME listener. The way I have it now only targets the last one added. How do i have it apply to each child when it's added?

I am using a Flash AS2 template for a PayPal shopping cart on my site. As the code is now, a new shipping charge is added to the buyers total for every item added. I would like it to have only 1 shipping charge, no matter how many items are added!

I've created a movieclip in my library which has, among other things, a dynamic text field. This text field has an instance name of "txt".
I then attach this movieclip and want to set the txt instance, but I get an error:

I have created a button class which has graphical elements. In future I might want to add this as a child to other things so what I would like to know is, firstly, can I get the details of the parent object from the child and, probably more importantly, is there an event that tells me when my button has been added as a child so that I can resize it?

I have a small problem with dynamic targeting inside a loop. Shortly, I have some buttons which I add listeners to in a loop. loop works fine. I got everything to work, but the second line in it gives this error : TypeError: Error #1034: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert []@d4abe81 to Function.[code]Can anyone help me with the correct syntax for the second line ?

I am trying to run a for loop that will target MCs that are embedded in a parent mc... I keep running into issues with the targeting however when I try this:

This dosnt seem to cut it. How should I go about this? This is the error that I get: TypeError: Error #1010: A term is undefined and has no properties.

I'm using a for loop to add images that are in an XML list to the stage. In the loop I am adding each image onto the stage as well as adding individual text fields for each images' load percentage and an onComplete listener to add a tween once the image is fully loaded.
When I test it, the loop adds all the images to the stage but only adds the load progress to the last image in the XML list. The correct amount of text fields are being added to the stage, but the loading percentage is only going into the last iteration. I've traced the load progress function and they're all happening, but they're just not being added to ALL of the images.
Basically, how do I add the checkProgress percentage to ALL of the text fields using the for loop? I've managed to make the onComplete function work for all of the images by using an if statement in it. Would I also utilize an if statement in the ProgressEvent function? If so how exactly would I impliment it?

I know how to remove duplicates from an array, but what I'm trying to do is prevent an item from ever being added to an array in the first place if it already exists. I'm pulling in data from an xml feed in a loop, and I thought that searching for that values index would work, but no matter what, the index is always -1. Here's my code:

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the indexOf function, but I thought it was supposed to return -1 if a value did not exist in an array. What am I doing wrong?

In a nutshell, I have a for loop updating a dynamic text element but it seems to iterate so fast that only the last item in the loop is updating the text. I'd like the dynamic text element to be updated with EACH item in the loop, not just the last.I have a single frame movie where I create a simple array of strings from an external text file:
_global.i = 0;
_global.numplaces = 0;
_global.PlacesArray = new Array();

The traces work fine and show that the for loop is iterating properly. However the place.htmlText dynamic text in a movie nested one level down (for tweening purposes) that I'd like the loop to update is only updating with the last item in the array.

Let's say I wanted to randomly remove an item from an array in a for loop.
Basically, it would go something like;
thearray = ["lol", "dude", "ROFL", "lame", "excellent"]
for (i=0; i<4; i++) {
randomness = random(thearray.length())
thearray.remove [randomness]
}
Obviously that last line was made up, that's where the code goes for the item-removal.

I have an array. I have a button, when I press on it I want to be able to loop through every item in the array and see if EVERY item is equal to true, if so I want something to happen.
var allIsTrue = false;
_global.myArray = [false, true, false, true, false, true, false, false, false, false, false, false, false,false,false,true]
///would not do something

I thought I could loop through each one and if a false statement if found, the loop stops and the variable allIsTrue = false. But if the loop cycles all the way through allIsTrue = true.

[I apologise if this isn't really an in depth question, but I wanted to solve this once and for all]I was trying to get look into quadtrees, but already ran into trouble getting collision detection without any optimization working properly. Did a search and found a pretty neat example:Only some collisions are detected between particular objects. When the objects are not moving it seems to work alot better for some reason. really can't figure out whats the problem, the code is essentially the same as the sample. I'm creating a mobile app in which I need to show a calendar with months at the top. The months are part of a component that extends from SkinnableDataContainer (and has some custom scrolling/behaviour - which is why I did'nt use a spark list). I need the months to be shown as a 'trapezium' shaped tab and so I'm using a png image as a mask in the item renderer for the component.
When the mask is not applied, it all works well - the months render, the list/data container selection works when I click on a month and so on.When the mask is applied, it renders well, scrolling and everything else seems to work well - but when I click on a month, nothing happens visually. And from the trace statements in my code, it appears list item selection is not changing. Looks like mouse clicks are not working.

I have used states in my application.The thing is I have made the first item in my list to be selected. so I gave like this,

this works fine.The problem is when other item is selected the first item does not change its state,it remains in the selected state until its clicked.My code looks like this,
