}), it always opens the processForm.asp file in a new window. Can it be executed in the same window or just being hidden?

Sep 12, 2011I have a requierement in my project that i need to store 'US/Eastern EST' and day light saving 'US/Eastern EDT' in data base if client machine is in US/Eastern time zone. Because this gives clear identification instead of justing the chars like 'EST'. There is CDT in US region as well as Chaina too so can't relay just on three chars like 'EST'/'EDT'.

Aug 30, 2010I just saved a file I was working on and Flash CS5 crashed on me as it was saving and now the file is corrupt and won't open (because of our obsolete file system).
So I recommend OS X users to use Time Machine so you always have a backup of the file being made as you work.

Mar 24, 2011I'm trying to record video from the users webcam and play it back at a later date.

However, when I look at the FMS Admin Console at the streams in app/_definst_, their types are either "NetStream" or "Live". If they were being saved wouldn't they say "Stored"? After I close the application doing the recording, the "NetStream" type stream disappears, and after a while all the "Live" typed streams are gone too. Nothing is saved.
I have no idea what is happening. I don't know if it's a problem with my AS3 code not closing the recording properly or if I'm doing something else wrong, or maybe somethgin isn't right in the FMS?

Dec 17, 2009I want to implement something similar to MAC OS X Time Machine in terms of having time-line on the page side and then clicking on a specific day will pull a page from the server.
I have good experience with Ruby on Rails. I'm less experienced with GUI design and was wondering what in your opinion is the optimum way to do something like that. Couple of ideas came to mind:
- Use Adobe Flex (or maybe Silverlight?)
- Use JQuery (or similar JavaScript library)

Nov 27, 2010I want to make a game where a user logs in. Once the user logs in, they have access to a database (let's just say a database of weapons). They could choose a certain amount of "weapons" and every time they log in, they still have the same weapons, regardless of cookies, because the "weapons" are linked to their username. Then the users could use their weapons to battle other users. Also, the user's username keeps track of their wins and losses. I have newb to basic flash knowledge (I took an animations class); I could animate, make buttons, websites, etc. Does anyone have some insight that could point me in the right direction?

Oct 7, 2010I have looked around a lot for the answer to this, here and out on the web, I just can't believe it can't be done.I have certificates that the user fills in their name once they successfully pass the on-line course, this works and prints fine. The decided they wanted the current date and time to show up on the certificate for their records. The date and time displays correctly, but when you go to print the certificate you get the default numerals, not the date and time, once the print dialogue box goes away after printing, you can see it change back to correct day and time.

Apr 23, 2011I can get the current date in actionscript using the Date() function, my question is, does it give the same timezone for everyone? When I use it, it gives me the current hour and everything for the Eastern Time Zone (Newyork), but I live in Georgia, so I am eastern timezone, will someone who lives somewhere else, like california, run the code (below) and tell me if the time flash displays is the current time they have on their computer, or if the hours are off... with that said, if it is the same, and flash doesn't give everyone on earth the same time, is there any code I can use to retrieve the current time in 1 time zone no matter where on earth I am when I use the code? May 2, 2008I'm sorry to ask such a stupid question but the documentation is not clear to me. And I really don't want to screw it up. I am creating a flash piece that needs to change its content based on the date eastern time. so that the content on monday 00:00:00 will be different than the content sunday 11:59:59. I have everything set up for local time ie:

But do to legal issues involved I need to set this up so that even if the user is in Alaska the content will change based on Eastern Standard Time.I'm sure I can use timeZoneOffset, but I'm just not sure how to implement it.
