Actionscript 3.0 :: Disabling A Button After Multiple Clicks?

Apr 7, 2010

"how to disable a button" posts but I'm looking to disable a button after 5 clicks. Is this possible and if so what can I do? Basically what I'm doing is using a button to tween a movie clip through a mask, a sliding doors technique if you will, and at the end of my movie clip content i want it to stop, rather than tween on forever.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Action On Multiple Clicks On One Button

Jun 24, 2010

I need to create a demo where a button is pushed several times to go to several items in a menu. Like this:

If button is clicked once --> show menu item1 & go toandplay frame 2
If button is clicked twice --> show menu item2 & go toandplay frame 3
If button is clicked 3x --> show menu item3 & go toandplay frame 4 etc.

Actually it also needs a delay, so when the button is clicked once, it shows menu item 1, but if it is clicked again within 3 seconds, it should go to the next menu item in stead of going to play frame 2...

Professional :: Change Multiple MovieClips Properties When User Clicks A Button?

Nov 2, 2010

This seems like someting I should already know but I am working on a user interface that I want to be skinable.  I have about 8 different graphical elements and I want to change the appearance of these 8 different movieClips just by clicking a single button.  I thought I would just create a new keyframe in my main time line and then manipulate the movieClips but that changed the appearance of the movie clip on frame 1 as well.  Clarification:  I want to change the color of my user interface background and I want to change the color of some clickable images as well.  I want frame 1 to have a white background and I want frame 2 to have a red background.  Do I need to create more movie clips and drag them onto my stage or can I just use the existing movieClips since all I really want to do is change colors?

Disabling And Enabling A Button

I took an object and converted it into a button symbol. I want to be able to disable and enable the button in different situations. I used the action script code "myButton.enabled=true;" and "myButton.enabled=false;" but these don't seem to work. Is it possible to access this property of a button I made? if not is there any way to change the button in the user interface components? if not is there any other way to disable or enable the buttons i made?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Button Not Disabling?

Aug 20, 2009

I have seen several threads in regards to tbe button enable/disable, mouseEnabled usage. However. I have tried both methodologies in my code, and they don't respond. Continues to give me the alpha change and color text change, but not disabling the button after I roll off of it.Ultimate goal,to disable the currently selected button, leave the alpha at .4 and the text color to remain in its selected state/color. Everything works beautifully for my buttons other than disabling the selected one. Any thoughts or suggestions on what I can do to make the below code work better?Code called in previous function in class to add the MouseEvents to the buttons:

ActionScript Code:
buttonClips_arr[whichOne].buttonMode = true; [ code].............

For example I have something like this:

function addMissile() {
this.attachMovie("missile", "missile"+mtop, this.getNextHighestDepth(), {_x:startx, _y:starty});

I want to add a callback on-click for each of these movie clip instances.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Multiple Clicks - User Can Click On To Hide / Show A Different MovieClip

Feb 27, 2008

I have a movieClip that a user can click on to hide/show a different movieClip (for this example, lets say its a circle). I have an 'onPress' on that movieClip that tells it go and play the next frame inside itself movieclip (there are two frames which just have different graphics to represent off/on) and also the line of code to hide the other movieClip.

The problem is that if a user clicks on the movieClip to hide the circle and then keeps their mouse in the exact same position and tries to click again to show the circle, nothing happens... they have to move the mouse at least a little bit before it will recognize it is being clicked again. The same thing happens with buttons I have that scroll the page... which is extremely annoying since you can't just click the same spot multiple times, you have to move your mouse a bit and then click again.

On the map is many locations which when rolled over should pop up a little dialogue box with contact info. My problem is that it only works when i've disabled the drag functions. When the drag functions are running the buttons inside the map movie clip all stop working. How can i get around this?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Disabling Menu Button For Current Page Using Flashvars?

Nov 22, 2009

So I know Flashvars uses a lot different methods in AS3 because of the loader classes and all that. How do I disable the button and make it only display the second frame to the button corresponding to the page that the user is currently on?I've called a variable in the HTML document using query string (or I could use Flashvars just as easy if that makes it easier) called "currentPage" and on each page in the HTML give it a page name.I know how to grab the variable from the HTML into a text field in the SWF (see this tutorial) but I'm having trouble manipulating my menu buttons.

Actionscript 3 :: Function - Disabling Button Rollover For Certain Number Of Frames Flash

Jan 24, 2012

I'm constructing an area with selectable buttons that transition and appear every 10 frames. During these 10 frame transition periods I don't want the buttons to be selectable and if possible to disable the rollover.

I've tried creating an If statement on the addEventListener so that it only works when currentFrame is 11,21,31 etc but this didn't work. I then also tried the same principal on the function to which the Event Listener relates but still no success.

Using mouseChildren appears to be an all or nothing deal and I can't seem to isolate individual floor/wall/character objects for use with mouseEnabled.

Loop Until The User Clicks A Button?

Jun 7, 2009

I'm converting some old Director/Shockwave animations to Flash, and I'm setting up a navigation system. I have a simple animation that runs from from 1 to frame 110, and I'd like it to loop until the user clicks a button. The timeline goes on beyond frame 110 with other stuff. In an "actions" layer in frame 110, I have the following

gotoAndPlay(1);

I thought that this would lead to the looping, but it doesn't. The movie just moves on beyond frame 110. Just as a test, I put the following at frame 110 instead.

stop();

and when I test the movie, it doesn't stop. The commands don't seem to be seen.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Recording Button Instance Clicks

May 26, 2009

I have about 10 buttons on the page. When you click one of the buttons, there is a popup (which is closeable). The user is meant to click all buttons (and open all of the popups) before they can move on (before the next_btn becomes visible). So far I just have a counter type of code in place (when you click a button one gets added to the counter), but you could just click on the same button 10 times and the next_btn will become visible. I cant figure out how to specialise the counter. I want the user to click ALL of the different buttons before they can click the next button and move on..
