Actionscript 3.0 :: HitTestObject On Specific Target?
Jul 29, 2010
I got this rectangle_mc such that when I drag it to either the mask1_mc or mask2_mc, it will load movie_mc and plays it on the specific mask. But there's something wrong with my code.Here's the code:
Code: Select allimport flash.display.MovieClip;
var movie_mc:MovieClip = new movie();
rectangle_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, startDragging);
I'm making target shooting game and the hitTestObject not working its located in the function collision detection below in my code: import fl.motion.MotionEvent; import flash.events.MouseEvent; var xSwitch:Array = new Array ; var count:Number = 120; var seconds:Number = 0; var minutes:Number = 0; [Code] .....
I have been doing really well figuring everything out up until now.[code]How it stands, what is this link pointing to? Can I make it target a specific frame in a specific movie clip?And if someone would be so kind and explain what this is saying in 3rd grader terms.
I'm making a tile based game in AS3. Now I need to check a collision between the player and each tile (which are created in an array with 300-something instances). I want to do that in my Main class. The player is in a class called Level and the tileArray is in another class. When I execute, I get the classic #2007 error - "Parameter hitTestObject must be non-null".
MAIN
public function checkCollision():void{ if(_level._tileSetBMP._tileArray[0] == null){ _level._tileSetBMP._tileArray[0] as flash.display.DisplayObject;
[Code].....
What can I do to make a hitTest with each of the [0]-instances of the array?
I'm working on a small project right now, and it consists of three toggle buttons that control various displayed data. I'm trying to make another toggle button, that once selected, will set the three existing toggle buttons to their "on" state. I'm pulling my hair out trying to target these individually through a loop. I'm currently working in the "//Begin Turn All On" section.
Code: //New Button Collection Embedded in Movie Clip mc"buttonCollection" var myBtns:Array = [buttonCollection.button1,buttonCollection.button2,buttonCollection.button3]; //Put all your buttons here
I have a all flash site that has several FLV's that people can click on called Green Solutions, Home Control, Temperature Control. My client wants to know if its possible to put a hyperlink in a email to his clients that would directly link them to any one of those videos. I assume I need to pass a variable of some kind but I am at a lost of where to start with this thing.
I want to load a movie loadMovie ("target", _root....) and so on. My question is can you target a specific scene in the load movie command?? I have a movie with a button that loads a new movie into level 0 so it replaces the first movie. Now in the new movie I have a button that unloads the new movie and loads the previous one. But it starts it off at the veru beginning of the movie. I want it to pick up where the first button click took place.
What is the difference between target and currenttarget in flex?What is the difference between Target and Current Target in Flex especially in mouse events.
var profileholder:profileHolder=new profileHolder ;
inside of profileholder is another movieclip(infoBtn) that acts as a button.when the mouse is over profileholder i want to do something with infoBtn like:
//profOver is the over state of profileholder function profOver(e:Event) { e.target.infoBtn.alpha=1; }
this doesn't work and brings up this error:ReferenceError: Error #1069: Property infoBtn not found on flash.display.Loader and there is no default value. at main_fla::MainTimeline/profOver()
i also tried: function profOver(e:Event) { var item:profileHolder=e.target as profileHolder; item.infoBtn.alpha=1; }
and get this error:TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.
What I want is a hint how to make a specific thing happen while clicking a specific button. Like "if I click button 1, do this". Would like to use this script though I'm gonna add buttons over time and this is an easy way to have the functionality working.
Here's the code:
Attach Code
function hitButton(btn) { btn.onRollOver = function() { this.colorTo (0xC4006A);
i need to change the colour of a graphic in a specific movie in a specific frame. if i have a movie clip instance-named "sidetext" thats 15 frames long, and i want a graphic in the movie, called "letterp" to change to one of four colours that i want it to randomly at frame 10 and stay that colour uintil frame 15, how can i do this?
how do i export specific frames not all frame. ex: if flash has 1 to 200 frames. here i want to export 51 to 150 frames as a movie. if there is any command or plugin to export movie like this.
so i need to make a flash that will do the next things.if user press button "x" on the next frame should display "x" text from a xml.if user press button "y" on the next frame should display "y" text from a xml.
Basically once my animation loads I want to pull in an external SWF at a specific frame, basically like the "home page" swf that will display first. Underneath that I will have "About Us, Contact, etc..." and those will each load an external SWF into my movie clip. My movieclip right now is called mcHolder. Here is the code I am currently using for the buttons:
Code: //About Us Button function test2(evt:Event):void{
In my program, the movieclips are randomly added on the stage, If I want to check whether two movieclips from different classes is colllided.As far as all the moveclips are of the different classes which are randomly added on the stage in my program,for the use of hitTestObject(), I find that I need to have two movieclips identified so that the command will be:
mc1.hitTestObject(mc2)
maybe I may ask, before I add a mc on the stage "addChild(mc)",I will call a function to do the hitTestObject command "mc.addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, hitTest)"so that I can call evt.target to be mc1, is that true or not?
Im've created a timer that starts every 1 second. This is the code what's happening every 1 second.
var Random_Value_X:Number = Math.ceil(Math.random() * 1500); var Random_Value_Y:Number = Math.ceil(Math.random() * 2000); var enemy:MovieClip = new AI(stage); addChild(hero); enemy.x = Random_Value_X; enemy.y = Random_Value_Y;
Ok. Then I got the class called AI where I've made it so the AI follows my player. The thing is, I need to make a hitTest that testes if an AI hitting another AI? Is there a way I can give every new AI a ID? Like the first gets called "AI1" and second AI2" and then I can make a code that says like If(AT1.hitTestObject(AT2 || AT3))
I am trying to develop a basic game engine for a slime soccer style game where a player can move around and jump. I am still fairly new at AS3 but managed to put together this working bit of code that the game currently runs on:
Code: stop(); //vardefs var runSpeed:Number = 10; var blueGoals:Number = 0; var redGoals:Number = 0;
