I'm using Flash CS5 and AS3. I've made a form using the library's "User Interface" object and I want to change the font size for the TextInput and TextArea fields but I can't find any option in their properties to change it.
I've tried this code var myTextFormat: TextFormat = new TextFormat();myTextFormat.size = 14;email_txt.setStyle("textFormat", myTextFormat);
even though I don't get any error while publishing, my page doesn't appear, if I remove this code the page comes back to work.
I am looking to add some code to my xml file that will change the final font, size and colour in Flash Action Script 2. I want to be able to have the choice of a few font sizes, styles and colours. Below is the AS2 script so far, and the XML.
stop(); var myGalleryXML = new XML(); myGalleryXML.ignoreWhite = true;[code].......
Why do the dynamic text font size appears smaller than what I specified in the flash dynamic text properties? I used a font size of 50 for the dynamic text and when I test movie, it appears to be only a font size of 12. Why is it so?
When i change the font size and font color i get the result i want.But when i try to change the font-family, or to make a part of text in italics or bold i fail to get what i want.I also tried this:
<font style="font-style:italic">my text</font>with no success
I am using Adobe Flash CS5 and Action Script 3, but I am struggling to do something really simple (which means I am looking in the wrong place probably), I have 5 TextInput fields, I have added to the stage via the 'Components' option, but after discovering how to change the colour of the fields, I now want to change the font which appears when you type directly into the fields when the Flash movie is playing, however I can't seems to find this function. I found a tutorial which mentioned going to the properties panel and then clicking 'Character, then 'Embed Font', but this maybe in CS4?
Is there a quick and easy way to change the font/color of a component like the TextInput or Checkbox? I'm able to change the TextField with a TextFormat, but seem to run into a square peg and round hole with the other components.
[Code]....
Can I plug this into a Checkbox to change the label or TextInput to change the text?
I'm trying to get an object to increase in size the lower it goes down the stage, and decrease in size the high it moves up the stage.
It only needs to increase or decrease by a small amount. Basically, it's for a game character. To ad realism to his movements, it would be nice to have this feature.
I have a list of fonts obtained via Font.enumerateFonts() and I want to display them all as 12 pixels tall. The problem is that I cannot simply set the point size because this can vary in actual pixel size for each font. So basically I want to determine what the correct point size is for a font in order to make it exactly 12 pixels tall. Because I'm doing this with a potentially large list I'm looking for an efficient method to do this.
I've got a simple function to change the colour of a textInput component box - problem is it doesn't work. I can't see why not - surely this should be really simple, I can't understand why it is so hard?[code]...
Is it even possible to change the color of the font in textInput components?
While creating one photo gallery I am facing one problem in controlling the Font Color, Font Size and other characteristics of a text loaded into a text field from an XML File. The name of the text field in question is my_txt it loads the title from the xml file attached herewith. how I can control the behavior of the text loaded in that text field.
I have a strange issue where a dynamic text field will not show a bold version of a font (Gerstner BQ) if the regular version is on the stage in a static text field.Remove the static text field and the dynamic text field displays the bold font correctlyI have created a test FLA to reproduce this and by turning the layer with the static text field on and off (Publish settings -> Flash -> include hidden layers [unchecked]), the issue is quite clearhis issue is so big for me that I have had to abandon a project in CS5 and start again in CS4 just to work around this.
I want to create a custom textinput component in flex. The component is made of one background rectangle (spark.primitive.Rect) and one inside rectangle that will contain the text.My problem is that I want my component to be sizable like I want. For example if I want to create one textinput with a size of 200/100 I write :
And I have only the width and height to change if I want to create another textinput with different size.My skin mxml contains two rect but I want to do this:<s:Rect width="{this.width}" height="{this.height}" .....and for the other one (the one that will contain the text)<s:Rect width="{this.width * 0.80}" height="{this.height * 0.80}" .....The problem is that flashbuilder displays an error message of incompatibilty on my two "Rect" lines. And when I launch my app, nothing is displayed.
My Text Format is not changing colour or size, despite me telling it to do so with the following code. it displays the number of steps taken (a number called Steps) to complete the level in my flash game.
ActionScript Code: var myFont:TextFormat = new TextFormat; myFont.font = "Ariel"; myFont.color = 0xCCCCCC;
[Code]....
It displays the box the correct size (height and width), position and number inside, but the text font is still black and small size.
So, the "promptDisplay" in a computer(online) that does not have "Acens.ttf" installed shows the predefined one, but the inputed text is showed correctly with the embeded font!
i have a few rectangles and text fields that i have in my library but i exported them through actionscript. All i want to know id how do i set the rectangle behind the text fields.And i also want to know how i can set the colour of the stage
I'm working on a slideshow where I'm calling in photos from an xml file. How do I tell AS to resize the stage according to photo dimensions? Would I need to list the dimensions in the xml file? If so, how would I pull that into the fla file with AS?
I have 20 odd little swfs, each of which will be loaded into a body swf at one point or another.Each of these contains anywhere between 4 and 20 single-colour buttons. What I need is for each of them to simply change colour when rolled over/out. The naming convention is just b1,b2 etc depending on how many said buttons are in each clip.
We have a serious issue while saving images from a flex editorOur editor is adding some text to images and php script (imagick) is saving that image by receiving all parameters from Flex editorThe problem we think is because of the font measurement in flex and in php. In flex fontsize is calculated in pixels and in php it is calculated in points. Hence when we write a text "Hello" in flex with fontsize "10" and while we write the same text with same font size in php looks different
I am using the drawRect() method. The only way I know how to colour something is by using beginFill and endFill(). But if it's already drawn then how can I change it? It
I've got two functions running that change the colour of certain objects within my stage. I'm wondering if I can combine them into one which would half the code (and eventually quarter the code because I'm planning on adding two more colours).
how do you control the backround colour of a movie clip and the stage? i have thought about placing a mc within the mc as a backround_mc, then change the tint attribute from my main timeline, is this on the right track?
i have a movie where a user loads images into an image viewer (mc) i have craeted. If a user clicks on gallery 1, the loader appears, and load the jpg and then tells the viewer to show onceloaded. But, if a user clicks on gallery 1, then clicks on gallery 2, the movie finishes loading picture 1, before loading picture 2, is there any waqy i can force the loader to stop loading one,a dn load two immediately.
I have careted a class, now, how do i assign an mc to be an object of that class, from the main timeline or the onclipevent load event
