I've got some HTML text in my XML which i load in flash. But when i try to use an image as a link using <a href="http://site.com"><img src="img.jpg"></a> nothing happens when i click the image. Links work fine unless the image is wrapped in the "a href"-tag. Anyone know how to solve this?

UPDATE 2010-05-14: If I'm not mistaken HD.se uses Flowplayer and all those flasvars are for that. Perhaps someone here is good with Flowplayer? I've never used it myself.

I have a problem with animation of TextField. I prepared an animation of MovieClip (containing TextField), that in 0.5sec gets 50% alpha. Then I used "Copy movement as ActionScript 3.0..." option.When I copied it into a class and wanted to animate TextField, nothing matters, excepting weird TF movement.Here my button class code - class works alone:

View 1 RepliesI have a flash file (main.fla) that contains an empty movie clip which has the action :loadMovie("myMovie.swf");When I test the movie in Flash it works fine.It also works fine when I have Flash closed & just open the (main.swf) file.And, of course, the loaded movie (myMovie.swf) plays fine too.HOWEVER, when I embed the main movie file (main.swf) into an HTML page, it will NOT load "myMovie.swf" like it's supposed to.Note: when I embed "myMovie.swf" into the HTML page, it works fine.

I've created an extremely simple flash website. I need it to display some pictures and to keep the filesize down I want to load these images on demand. The images are hosted on my server in folders in the same directory as the website swf and the html file that initializes the swf.
I use the most rudimentary way of loading an image, it looks like this:

When I upload the website to the server it simply does not display the image, it's not loaded, the place where it's supposed to be is blank.
I've searched the site and there have been some threads with similar issues but the answers given just don't seem relevant. Something about cross domain policies, but all my images are on the same domain as the website swf.
I am having problems using the simpleZSorter by Ralph Hauwert. The "stanalone"-swf is working fine. If I put it in an HTML document, everything still works EXCEPT THE Z-SORTING.
I also attached a file which should show my problem. Just compare the order of the rectangles in the swf standalone and in the HTML document.

just downloaded the flash cs4 trail, very nice some of the irritating IDE bugs are gone that i had on my mac, and didn't had on windows. but enough of that
The first project i checked out, a bug jumps up.when you create a texfield on stage, make it html text. set it to verdana or arial regular, emded the basic symbols.give the textfield a name and try to make some bold text using actionscript.

preview it and every thing stays regular.the only way to get right is to embed the font styles in your library. but for some of the more special symbols, that's not good enough.that's the only reason i re-installed flash cs3, after thinking maybe that was the problem.

I have a web page which has a SWF file embeded. I have an issue with the focus.
Steps to reproduce:
1)Click on a HTML Text Field which is inside a Iframe
2)Click on a Flex Field.
3)Begin to type some text.
Expected Result is the entered text should go in the Flex TextInput field but the actual Result is it goes into HTML text field.
This is the bug which was filed but closed without any resolution. The workaround suggested there doesnt work. ( bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/SDK-12377 )

I have images being dynamically loaded into a html textfield and they look very pixelated. I am able to getImageReference via an id attribute in the <img> tag, but I can't apply smoothing to this DisplayObject because I can't access it's content which is the bitmap. I know the image is loading and I know the reference is working because I can call the id name, I can scale, rotate change the alpha and apply filters. I have tried setting the stage quality to best, but that doesn't make a difference. If I do an addChild(loadedObject) as a test, the image is loaded (not in the text field) and looks beautiful no pixelation at all.

All went well except now the website is published, weird things happen. The homepage works fine but when you click on "portfolio" some of the buttons don't appear and when you try the buttons, some images don't appear. Occasionally some of the buttons take you to the wrong place also. When I test the movie in flash, everything works fine so I can't work it out. I am a complete novice so advice will have to be spelt out in black and white.

View 9 RepliesI am using progressive streaming with VideoDisplay, the HTTP URL provided gets buffered completely even if I have configured it to start playing the video when the buffering reaches 20%, the trace message shows that the playing started(using mozilla /Flashbug+Firebug), but it doesnot show the video till the buffercounter reaches 100% How can I get the video stream to play at the 20% of stream.Code Segment where the check takes place

I decided to try to use setInterval for myanimation, which is just a mouse trail.However, I'm trying to get teh mouse trail to be a dynamic mask.In my previous swf this was achieved by using a holder mc with the animation inside and then using this as the mask. But this time I just canpt seem to hit on the right way to get it to work. The code I am using for the mouse trail is:

I have a button object that I need to scale to align with the variable width of an array of images.However, when I set the width in code, the button does not actually become that width. Tracing out the width gives me the correct value, but on screen.. it's off.
I've proved it to myself by scaling the same button object manually in the properties pane and visually comparing. Both of the buttons below have a width of 410.

Is there a way to allow this, or a work around? is there a way for the loaded webpage to send Flex info about events that occur in it?Here is my code:

Using the flex text area I am trying to put an image inside a list. Whatever I do, the image is pushed to a new line. The html is below. I want to show text and the image on the same line in list item 2. I have taken some of the formatting out for readability.

I have a form made up of textfields nested within Movie Clips and when I hit tab, it doesn't go to the next textfield, but instead hops all around the interface. Is there any way to control this? I've tried using the accessibility panel and setting the Tab Index but that had no effect (I'm guessing because the textfields are nested in mc's).

I have a textfield in a MovieClip that I'm trying to change out from an external class. It appears to return back as empty on the stage, but if I trace what's inside there it gives me the correct value, it just doesn't show up.
My code is this:
((this.parent.parent.getChildByName('bottomBar') as MovieClip).getChildByName('area_txt') as TextField).text = 'test';
So if I trace "((this.parent.parent.getChildByName('bottomBar') as MovieClip).getChildByName('area_txt') as TextField).text" it returns "test" but it doesn't display on the stage, it's just blank.

i have this problem with my text field. i have this dynamic text field, and i want to load external text files and show them there. this all works fine and dandy but when i try to make a scrollbar along with it, it gives the height of the text field as the original one from the flash file, not the new text.

screen2 is the movieclip within screen1. They are movieclips and textfield1 is the textfield
I tested like

Then I can see the result of trace which have the text I wrote, but I cannot see anything on the screen.
why it is like this and how to modify then ?
I have a swf that is pretty complicated, you can interact with the page and go to different keyframes and it stops and/or starts depending on buttons, but I want to put it in a fla or something so I can put other swfs next to it and build it up and put several of them together as one.
I don't care about making it too complicated, I just want one interactive swf to go to the next compiled swf when that movie ends, but when I try importing it or loading it it just runs straight through without stopping or paying any attention to the scripting.
