Actionscript :: Remove A Filter From BitmapData?

I am using to blur an image using BitmapData. The function is called on a Slider_changeHandler(event:Event):voidevent and the value of the slider is passed to the function as blurvalue.The problem is the function works but seems to be cummalative (if that's the correct word!), that is, suppose I slide it to the maximum and after that try to reduce the blur by sliding it back towards the front the blur still keeps increasing. How do I make it to work so when I will slide it up blur increases and when I slide it back blur decreases and when slider is at 0, no blur is applied.[code]
View 2 RepliesI'm looking for an efficient way to filter a specific color from a bitmapData object in ActionScript 3. Currently I use a loop with readByte32(). This takes about a second to process which is unacceptable. I have been trying to get paletteMap() to work but so far haven't been able to grasp its API (any truly useful links? Google has failed me...). Here's my current logic, which I want to improve:

Photoshop and Fireworks both have some nice filters. When you put one bitmap over the other, the first bitmap can act as filter. For example, the white pixels of the top bitmap lighten the pixels of the bottom bitmap. Is there any way to apply this in as3? What I am trying to accomplish: I have a large single-color bitmapdata object. I want to overlay perlin noise and lighten/darken the single-color bitmap to give it some random/natural look.
View 1 RepliesI have a menu that is a type of wave, thus I'm using Flash, not HTML. My issue is that I have a bevel on that wave, but that bevel extends onto the text that is a child of the MC that has the bevel. Is there any way that I can remove the bevel from the text (Or technically shapes since they were imported from IL) without removing it from the entire element?
And yes, I've tried this.filters=[];
Also, I can't keep everything one shape in the MC, because I have hover attributes.
I have used flashvars to send a URL query string to my movie, though I need to filter the string to remove one of the variables.For instance, I am trying to remove 'var2' from: var1=aaa&var2=bbb&var3=ccc..However, the query string is not the same every time. For instance, sometimes 'var1' may equal 'aad', 'var3' may equal '183', etc.So basically what I need to do is, regardless of what is contained in the string, always filter out 'var2'.

Let's say I have a sprite named rect, and I've applied three filters to it[code]...
How can I remove those filters, and return rect to it's original unfiltered state?
How to remove the bitmap from the holder and the bitmapData from the Flash Player memory?[code]
View 2 RepliesLet say I have a BitmapData with different pixels representing an object, and some black pixels around it that I want to remove.I would like to obtain a new BitmapData, with width and height of the object represented by non-black pixels.For example, let say I have a BitmapData 400x400px, but the object represented by non-black pixels occupies the rect: x=100, y=100, width=200, height=200. I want to get new BitmapData representing that rect, all black pixels should be removed. Of course, i have no coordinates for that rectangle, i need somehow to make difference between a full black bitmapdata and the original one, and construct a new bitmapdata (different width and height).
View 1 RepliesI was wondering if there is a filter or something in ActionScript 3 that lets me remove colors that are similar to other colors in a photo?
I have BitmapData of a JPEG image but the JPEG was saved with pretty low quality so there are some pixels that make it look ugly (JPEG artifacts). Without those pictures it would look okay, is there a way of removing them in AS3?
Was thinking something like a ColorMatrixFilter or similar?
I'm making a maze game. The character can't walk through the walls of the maze (because of a collition detection between the bitmapdata from the character and the bmd from the walls). When the character arrives at a door, the next level/frame should appear with a new maze (new bounds). For the next level (next frame), I made a new maze with different walls. But the bitmapdata from the first maze is still 'active'.
So even though there's a new maze, the bitmapdata from the previous walls is invisible but still drawn on the stage. My question to you is: I want to change the bounds/maze every frame, how can I remove the previous bitmapdata so the character won't walk through the bounds of the next maze? Or is it possible to make an array from the different 'bounds'?

1: I upload an image
2: Without altering it,I make a copy of it and use it display to users in resized format
note: I won't display the original image.
3:Now when user deletes the resized image,i need to delete the image loaded as bitmap i.e. the original image which i won't be displaying
For that I used bitmap.bitmapData.dispose() method.But,it doesn't free up the memory taken by the bitmap.For instance at initial state the memory usage is 58 Mb and upon loading 3 images the size increases to 87 Mb.And when I delete all the images the size decreases to 81 MB only.
This is my scenario

I looked at the following example in the AS3 Reference: [URL] It is unclear to me looking at the package example how to apply this in standard ActionScript 3 without packages to a Movie Clip resident in my Library that gets called at RunTime. how I would push the DropShadow filter onto my Movie Clip at RunTime?
View 6 RepliesTo achieve a zoom effect in our 2D flash game, we make the background of the game much bigger than the visible stage. This becomes a problem when the background is complex or when we apply a grayscale filter to the background. Is there a better way to do zoom? Or, is there a way to apply the filter to only a specific area of a movieclip?
View 2 RepliesI want to know how to write "Intercepting Filter Pattern" like Java's servlet filter in Flex.
And I want to insert it into the classes which have a role of server communicating.
I'm using Flash 8, with this code in the first frame:
import flash.display.BitmapData;
rissa._x=Stage.width/2;
rissa._y=Stage.height/2;[code].....
When I publish the file, I'm getting the following error message in the Output panel:
**Error** Scene=Scene 1, layer=Layer 2, frame=1:Line 7: The class or interface 'BitmapData.loadBitmap' could not be loaded.
var plaid:BitmapData.loadBitmap("plaid");

I am trying to use the reflect class from "http://pixelfumes.blogspot.com/2007/03/reflection-class-v3-with-source .html" but I keep getting this error:
ArgumentError: Error #2015: Invalid BitmapData.
at flash.display::BitmapData()
at Reflect()
at Site_fla::GalleryPage_29/loadThumbs()
at Site_fla::GalleryPage_29/sortXML()

btw, first I used assigned thumbContainer as the mc argument (outside the loadThumbs() function) and it worked but not exactly what I wanted... because I thought it is supposed to update when the movieclip is animated but it actually didn't... when I use a scroller, only the thumbs that are first loaded to the stage get the reflection..
I've been using BitmapData.copyPixels() to draw graphics onto a canvas (Bitmap).I need to rotate the resulting graphics without the use of draw() because it's vastly slower.How can I rotate the target graphic? I'm assuming that there might be a formula or library that I can use which will first reorganize the pixels that make up a graphic based on an origin (point) and radians.I'm pretty certain that I'm not capable of creating such logic, so if there are any known libraries that do this, that would be awesome.I'd like to achieve something similar to XNA's SpriteBatch.Draw() method, which accepts rotation as its 5th argument.
View 3 Replieshow to use the bitmapData collision method. Now I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to see at what angle or coordinate of the bitmapData the collision happens? I need it in order to figure the accurate bounce angle after the collision occurs.

View 2 RepliesI've made a mobile version of my software, with low-res images and such, and I can now fully buffer all my content (including a 360 frame animation which is buffered to memory). Problem is, that everytime I update the view, more memory is used.When I write image = new BitmapData();, does it store the previously created BitmapData's in memory? Do I have to flush the memory somehow before I draw my second picture in BitmapData?Example:

I am having an issue with using BitmapData.draw(stage). I am getting the following error:
SecurityError: Error #2123: Security sandbox violation: BitmapData.draw: file:///C|/Documents%20and%20Settings/bla...bla...bla.swf cannot access null. No policy files granted access. Here is a portion of my code:
var bd:BitmapData = new BitmapData(2800, 2100); bd.draw(stage);//this is where the error happens All of the files referenced (.xml/.jpg/.swf) are located in the same local folder as the main .swf. How do I get around this error? The main objective is to print the stage using PrintJob(). I am using Flash Professional CS5.5 and publishing to Flash 10.0/10.1. Let me know if I need to supply any more info.
The title might be a little misleading. Look at my code and I will explain
public static function loadTile(tileDir:String = "empty"):void
{
if(tileDir != "empty")
{
tPoint = new Point(0,0);
tRect = new Rectangle(0,0,30,30);
[Code]...
I am trying to do tiling with sprites. I want my tiles to be interactive, so that is why I am using the sprite object instead of using regular bitMaps to represent my tiles. You might be wondering why I wouldnt just use graphics.beginBitmapFill(tImage); and graphics.drawRect(0, 0,tWidth ,tHeight ); to pick out the tiles I want to use. Well reason being is because it turns out that drawRect() first and second parameters actually alter the location of where the actual sprite sits at.
So if I set the x and y properties of the sprite to x = 20, and y = 20. then I set my drawRect(20,20). it actually adds an extra 20 pixels to my x and y coords of my sprite. And I know the reason why, I just need to know a better way.

It al works wel only when i pick the first coin of one euro without going over the coin of 2 euro and then pick up a 2 euro coin the one euro disappears. after then it all works fine.i cant remove my duplicate euro's from the stage when i clic on pay here is my code for the euro's the euro's are in a emty movieclip

Just wondered if I remove a parent movieclip and then set it to null, will it remove all the child movieclips within it from the Display list and also from memory, or do I need to iterate through the parent movieclip removing all its children before removing the parent?
