Adding Menu With Links On Left And Videos On Middle / Right?

I am trying to do the following: I have a project file open in CS4. It currently has a background image which is locked. I want to include a menu with links/sublinks on the left side, a corporate video in the middle and another video on the right. The menu on the left (links/sublinks) simultaneously controls the other two videos. If the user clicks the 'stop' link, both videos stop. I would also like to include a scrubber, to control the video (play, pause, rewind, mute).
I am trying to do this in pieces - first get the video imported and playing, then create scrubber/playcontrols, then incorporate second video, and finally add the menu (links/sublinks). I have created sites with Flash, but this project has me baffled. I have spent months on it. As an example - I am struggling just to import the first video. Do I embed it? It seems as though each time I import the video, it does something different. I was told to embed it into the timeline (each frame of video would be on its own frame in the Timeline). This would alleviate AV synch issues, and allow me to control everything at once.
I new to flash and I am trying to create a menu similar to the one in this tutorial: [URL] I was able to do so with no problems, but I would like the pages, or rectangles (content 1 movie clip, content 2 movie clip, etc) to also be hyperlinks to different pages. In other words, the user should be able to click on the big rectangles to get to other pages. I tried making them button symbols instead of movie clip symbols, but that broke the sliding menu- the rectangles no longer moved when buttons were clicked. I tried adding a getURL action to onRelease for the movie clips, but I get an error and from what I read, this cannot be done with Actionscript 2.
I put an image on my stage. Then I created a keyframe out about 25 frames. I then went to frame 25 and grabed the side of the image and drug it in. Shrinking the image by about 30%. This shrank my image from both sides. When I run it, the image shrinks from the left and the right symmetrically. Now after I did this, I clicked on the tween and said to copy as AS3. Then I went to a new layer and tied the new AS3 code to a new image dynamically. It works fine, except that it shrinks only the right hand side of the image. In other words, the images seems to be anchored on the left hand side. How can I make my dynamic image shrink from both sides in?

1. I would like to make an animation where a dice roles from the left of screen towards the middle. Bit like this: I am thinking an animation, then put it on a path (not sure how to do this, but I know it can be done.) I have heard that swift3d could help me here, if so, give me a heads up. I could also make it an animation and make it bounce on the spot and use the inflash camera and draw back the distance to seem as if it is moving forward. Basically the main problem is how do I make the animation of the cube?

you put that text in a text field in flash but you will need to have links on the word flash and illustrator and freehand... how do you do the links? do you convert all the text to a graphic and then transform the works that you want in buttons??
I'm looking to create an infinate menu BUT navigating my menu from left to right using drag rather than the position of the mouse. If there's any links or tutorials around Pleeeeese let me know.

One more thing, the right menu can have only an few items at a time that do not need scrolling but when more are added then the scrolling will need to take effect.
How hard is it to use html links to call a video player and send a source video file? I have a bunch of links that need to show a different video in a video player. Im wrestling with just making a new swf for each page that is hard coded or one player that can take an xml file name (containing video path and other text data).
this is hard to explain, but I can't find out how to make it so when I press a button, a menu pops up in the middle. How would this work for an online game? Since I don't want it to go to the next frame, how could this be done? when I push the button, a shape pops up in the middle of the screen.
I'm trying to create a navigational menu, What I have it 7 buttons on the top of the screen. When a button is selected it moves to the middle of the screen and all the other buttons slide over one, filling the empty space. If a second button is clicked the current one in the middle of the screen moves to the end of the line (position 7).
I've stumbled across a very interesting tutorialBut, I've noticed a little detail. When you click on the big image of the finished example on the first page of tutorial, it acts like a link. When I have downloaded finished .fla source, links are nicely written in the images.xml file, but the links in the .fla file don't work.
I created 5 swfs (simple animations) and want to "somehow" thread them together to play one after the other inside the timeline of a new Flash Document. I was hoping to import each swf, have "movie 1" play, stop, have "movie 2" play, stop and so on until the 5th "movie plays out then stops (no looping necessary).

I've spent hours, and for all my self taught newbie-ness, I can't crack this: I have a navigation panel with several buttons. Lets call it mainNav. The mainNav buttons each add to the stage their corresponding MCs. They also remove any MCs from previous buttons currently on the stage. This is done by creating the MCs as variables, pushing those variables into an Array, and, when the mainNav button is pressed, calling the following function to remove the old (provided with assistance of the nice folks here), and then addChild(correspondingChild)
I'd like to create a bunch of links in a text field.
There's no way to do this in the IDE as nearly as I can tell. One link per field.
I can do it in actionscript by parsing the text in the fields and comparing it to entries in an XML, finding the entries and then adding the links to the htmlText of the field. Is there any way to easily parse words taking punctuation into account? Of course I can use the split function, but that doesn't sort out periods, commas, and such.
I have Flash MX and I'm editing a Flash template that I downloaded. When I roll over what would be the button section in this template it is set up to be a link, but I don't know how to edit it and add the links I want. how I can get links added into this thing? I can send it to you if you want to see what I'm talking about first hand.
I'm trying to modify Scotty's fantastic resizable XML gallery to add links to it. I've read through similar posts on this forum and I'm confused on a couple of issues. Firstly, the xml file provided, which I am using, places all fields in "" marks, whilst all examples given on this forum don't seem to do so.Perhaps more importantly, when i try, as recommended on similar posts, to place the link within CDATA tags the gallery stops showing any thumbnails, pictures or anything! I am trying to add clickable links to a dynamic text box that is being used by different buttons (every time you click a different button the information in the text field changes). Drop Down menu with the buttons linking to different videos in the same frame...sounds really easy, but I can't seem to wrap my head around it. Now I've got the video and player down in AS2. I also have the drop down buttons created (using this tutorial: [URL]). How I get these two to work together?
I have been building this website and have run into a snag. The navigation for the site does not work well. The user seems to have to click alot of buttons just to get the information they want, so here is the site url...
First, I am using a flash navigation on the left side to control content in an Iframe.
Secondly, I have links in the Iframe that I would like to control the flash navigation.
For instance, on the portfolio page. When a user clicks on a project, I would like the menu to expand to the location of where the link in the menu is: example: in the profolio page, click on campden lakes home and the menu on the left expands project; over 4000 sq ft; So, having said that; do i have the site setup weird? Is there an other navigation menu that I can use.I think this is a flash actionscript, but i am not sure, sorry if If this questions should be in an other category. I made a flash banner + have photo creds on each photo.
