I am using this code from a tutorial:[code]to open the file Animales Salvajes.swf. It loads, but none of the actionscript sounds play, and there is no background.Everything else works okay. But i have buttons that I need to play sound for.Does anybody have ideas? I work flat rate and they wont pay me for the now 5 hours I have spent trying to figure this out.

I have a Flex and Java application and i am using BlazeDS between flex and java. Generally my application works fine. when working with actionscript 3.0 i try to drag and drop a Flv file that i created with the adobe flash media encoder, to the stage, and setting the source as rtmp://localhost/vod/YourFLVName i get the error failed to load FLV: rtmp://localhost/vod/yourflvname when i try it with the sample file in the the vod folder ex "rtmp://localhost/vod/sample" it works. this leads me to beleave that the flv file i am creating is not encoded correctly.

I found a tutorial that showed how to create a navigation system that would load external SWFs. I am trying to create an image gallery in essentially the same manner but instead of loading SWFs, I want to load external bitmap images.However, when I replace the SWFs with images, I keep getting an error message:

TypeError: Error #1034: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert flash.display::Bitmap@3e91d2e1 to flash.display.MovieClip.at image_Loader_fla::menu_1/isLoaded()
So obviously, it is trying to convert the bitmaps to movieclips. Due to my newbiness with AS3, I'm not really sure what I need to do with my existing code to fix this issue.I've provided a sample of the gallery if anyone wouldn't mind taking a look.
P.S. In the sample I provided, you will notice that on mouse-over, an external will load. The only one that won't work is the first one (Home) as it is trying to load an external PNG.

I was working on my Flash project a few minutes ago and when I tried to save, Flash crashed on me. I reopened Flash and went to open my project back up (I didn't do much more to it so I wasn't unhappy that it crashed while saving), it gave me this output error:[code]Does this mean my file's lost forever? It says it's a JS error, but..I don't have to rebuild this. I've been working on it for ten weeks and it's due in three.I just deleted the "ObjectFind AndSelect.jsfl" file then relaunched Flash. I'm having difficulty debugging an ActionScript 3.0 project.When set to ActionScript 2.0, I'm able to debug just fine, but I'd like to use some 3.0 functionality. However, when choosing Debug > Debug Movie, the debugger launches (or at least the empty AS 3.0 debugger panels are displayed), but I receive the message "Debugger launch failed. Debug session will terminate.". Click OK and the debugger closes.

View 1 RepliesIf you attempt to load an image into a movie clip and the load fails, you are unable to attach a library movie clip to it. The code below is from the fla file i attached herewith. All you need is a movieclip in your library with linkage name "Attach_MC" and this script in a 1-frame fla file. Or just download the fla file. What i am trying to do is attach a movieclip with a graphic that says "loading failed" if the load fails, so that it won't be blank but i can't do it unless perhaps by a workaround by placing a reserve clip in the same place (i.e. under a mask).

Try to display the xml data on the flash via the dynamic text. During the loop, only the last childnode nodevalue is display on the flash.Do a trace on all childnodes, it was success but flash keep showing the last childnode nodevalue only. Did i miss out any AS2 command.

and so on.. now, what happens, is, if i play with my scene, sometimes tween class failed to work. sometimes it does not display List component, sometimes it displays List component with alpha 0.2. sometimes it happens with movieClip also. Is it flash bug or problem with my code?
I have been working on a flash website inside flash CS5 here at school. I have been working for almost 3 hours with no problems and I have made sure to save from time to time. I have saved with no problems. My problem came when I clicked on test movie. As the movie was loading to test the SWF of the website flash crashed and closed out on me. I had just saved before testing so I could have the latest saved. I double click on my flash document to re-open flash and I get a message that says "Failed to open document."
Right after the message it lists the folder where my file is located. I still cannot get past this message and my file is a website I have been working on for over 3 hours now. I needed this for school and I guess if I can't fix it I will have to start from scratch although I had so much work completed. I even tried to open flash first and then go to file open but that did nothing except give me the same error message. Then I looked under recent documents and clicked on the file document and got the same thing.

View 7 RepliesI have a main application(app.swf) which loads a module(profiles.swf) and the profiles module loads another module(member_profile.swf). In member_profile I get member data from the server side where an object of type Member is returned. The object returned contains an array called Jobs holding objects of type MemberJob. In the member_profile module there's a function that takes a parameter of type MemberJob to display the job details. I have a loop that goes through the array returned and calls the function for each array item like this:

I am getting an error at the addJob line: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert components.classes::MemberJob@19107d81 to components.classes.MemberJob.
And I receive this error always on the second loading of the member_profile module. I mean this module gets loaded when I click a member's name from the profiles module which passes this name as the parameter for the sub module to load the profile of that member including his jobs. So if I chose to see the profile of member "X" the profile is loaded without any errors but if I then click on member "Y" (which causes the sub module to be reloaded with the new parameter) then I get the type coercion error. And if I did the opposite click on "Y" first then "X" the same happens, error in the second load.
I'm developing a flash application that is getting information from a remote server using a URLLoader. I have a function that will create a request for information based on the product ID. When there is an error, I want to fall back to an alternate URL, but to create the alternate URL, I need to know the product ID. What is the best method to determine which URLLoader failed (and which product request failed) so that I can regenerate the new URL?

I am using remote object in flex to call a method in amfphp. I have project setup properly with a services-config.xml in d src, d end point uri pointing to the gateway.php. After testing on my localhost everything works fine but when I copied my files to a remote server repoint the uri in d servies-config and then recompiling the application gives a sending failed error.
