Nov 18, 2010I was working on my Flash project a few minutes ago and when I tried to save, Flash crashed on me. I reopened Flash and went to open my project back up (I didn't do much more to it so I wasn't unhappy that it crashed while saving), it gave me this output error:[code]Does this mean my file's lost forever? It says it's a JS error, but..I don't have to rebuild this. I've been working on it for ten weeks and it's due in three.I just deleted the "ObjectFind AndSelect.jsfl" file then relaunched Flash. It created a new one, but my file is still failing to load. Only this time, it's not saying it's a JS error.

Apr 14, 2011I have been working on a flash website inside flash CS5 here at school. I have been working for almost 3 hours with no problems and I have made sure to save from time to time. I have saved with no problems. My problem came when I clicked on test movie. As the movie was loading to test the SWF of the website flash crashed and closed out on me. I had just saved before testing so I could have the latest saved. I double click on my flash document to re-open flash and I get a message that says "Failed to open document."
Right after the message it lists the folder where my file is located. I still cannot get past this message and my file is a website I have been working on for over 3 hours now. I needed this for school and I guess if I can't fix it I will have to start from scratch although I had so much work completed. I even tried to open flash first and then go to file open but that did nothing except give me the same error message. Then I looked under recent documents and clicked on the file document and got the same thing.

Dec 14, 2009i have had cs4 for a long time now, and yesterday it suddenly took flash 10 minutes to open a document. i have loaded different documents to see what is the problem and found out it was the documents containing a lot of code (on frame1) that made him almost freeze. it takes ages to open medium size .as files, and even editing normal stage objects takes about 5 times longer. flash takes about 25% of cpu. i reinstalled, restarted, cleared aso, nothing.

Feb 23, 2012This has been my problem for a couple of days now.... I need to send a variable from flash that is embedded in an html to a javascript that will eventually should print the variables(that is the use of the js :to print).
So I've been using externalInterface.call("printval",param1,param2,pa ram3) to send my variables... I've put an alert in my javascript so that i could test if the value is there, the frustrating thing is the alert is showing with the variables but the printing part isnt executed. I tried this in firefox and it work, but I need this in ie...

HOW do I reference the Main class? This works fine in Firefox but in IE it doesnt work, I then change the /v/ in the youtube link with /p.swf?video_id= and now I have the window open showing the small youtube thumbnail of my video but once a click play, nothing happens, I check it and is not loading anything.

Resize A Document For Web Use?
May 5, 2009I looked online on how to reduce file size od an .fla file for use on the web but not very clear. I have an .FLA file that is 800X600 px. when I publish it, I reduce file size, audio to mono etc, and I am getting 1.8mb file, way to large for web use. I tried an swf and flv file but same results. I need to reduce the entire document. I read to use the onion skin the highlight everything then resize but I have over 5,000 frames in my movie. Can someone explain in detail, how to highlight all of the frames in the movie, and then reduce the file to say 400 X 300 px? I am able to drag the onion skin but only to the edge of the viewable document then I must scroll over and repeat the process. there must be an easier way to highlight all frames in the movie then resize the whole thing.
