Nov 18, 2010I was working on my Flash project a few minutes ago and when I tried to save, Flash crashed on me. I reopened Flash and went to open my project back up (I didn't do much more to it so I wasn't unhappy that it crashed while saving), it gave me this output error:[code]Does this mean my file's lost forever? It says it's a JS error, but..I don't have to rebuild this. I've been working on it for ten weeks and it's due in three.I just deleted the "ObjectFind AndSelect.jsfl" file then relaunched Flash. It created a new one, but my file is still failing to load. Only this time, it's not saying it's a JS error.

Apr 14, 2011I have been working on a flash website inside flash CS5 here at school. I have been working for almost 3 hours with no problems and I have made sure to save from time to time. I have saved with no problems. My problem came when I clicked on test movie. As the movie was loading to test the SWF of the website flash crashed and closed out on me. I had just saved before testing so I could have the latest saved. I double click on my flash document to re-open flash and I get a message that says "Failed to open document."
Right after the message it lists the folder where my file is located. I still cannot get past this message and my file is a website I have been working on for over 3 hours now. I needed this for school and I guess if I can't fix it I will have to start from scratch although I had so much work completed. I even tried to open flash first and then go to file open but that did nothing except give me the same error message. Then I looked under recent documents and clicked on the file document and got the same thing.

Dec 14, 2009i have had cs4 for a long time now, and yesterday it suddenly took flash 10 minutes to open a document. i have loaded different documents to see what is the problem and found out it was the documents containing a lot of code (on frame1) that made him almost freeze. it takes ages to open medium size .as files, and even editing normal stage objects takes about 5 times longer. flash takes about 25% of cpu. i reinstalled, restarted, cleared aso, nothing.

Feb 23, 2012This has been my problem for a couple of days now.... I need to send a variable from flash that is embedded in an html to a javascript that will eventually should print the variables(that is the use of the js :to print).
So I've been using externalInterface.call("printval",param1,param2,pa ram3) to send my variables... I've put an alert in my javascript so that i could test if the value is there, the frustrating thing is the alert is showing with the variables but the printing part isnt executed. I tried this in firefox and it work, but I need this in ie...

Aug 31, 2011I saved my work and a backup. This morning I got the dreadful message "failed to open document" followed by the path to the file. The output panel gave me this message: The following JavaScript error(s) occurred:

This always traces the width/height of the content of the external crossball.swf file, not its stage dimensions. So let's say crossball.swf has a document size of 200 by 200 pixels and in it is a shape of 115 by 30 it will trace the last as the width/height of 'container'. Is there any way to get the stage dimensions of an externally loaded swf through moviecliploader?

Jul 31, 2009I have created a image gallery. it uses a document class and several supporting classes. It works great. I need to load that swf gallery.swf into a another movie. When I try to do this I get this error. TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.at oxylus.rotator::Main()oxylus.rotator.Main is my document class for the gallery.swf that is being loaded into another flash movie.I don't get why it would cause errors as its a compiled swf and should not have references to that class.

Jul 20, 2005How I can load an external .txt document into a designated dynamic text box in my flash document. I've tried the two tutorials I could find on flashkit.com and neither of them worked for me. I did everything as told and still the text file didn't load. When I enter the actionscript into the editor, I'll click check syntax and I get an error!
Here's the code I have in the first frame of my actions layer:
