I have just established a menu based-image in flash in the main html page. Also I do have a second page has details on each option of the menu of the main page. I am creating a slideshow within Flash that uses XML data pulled from a database. Is there any way to manipulate the image size from within Flash? I am going to use the slideshow for a plasma display, and have clients uploading image files at random, which are then added to our database. I need each image to be 16:9. I know the easy way to control this would be to give the clients size requirements - we will do this in the future - but unfortunately there are hundreds of images already in the database that are already odd sizes. While it's clearly possible to change the size of the movie itself, is there a way to force each image that is imported from the XML to be a particular size - say 800 x 450 or 1200x 675 or 1600 x 900? (i.e. -- can I force the XML generated image to fill up the whole screen/browser window, regardless of what size it is?) It does not matter if the image gets distorted or stretched.

It will not load the image from the database using ASP. I set Images as a variable from ASP. It was displaying "images/img1.jpg" instead of image visually.
I've developed a small Flash [8] slideshow of ten 4x6 jpgs,optimized it, published it, and inserted it into a Dreamweaver [8]basic XHTML-compliant page, saved the page and previewed it in a variety of browsers. It works perfectly.Then I FTP'd it along with other files and photos for the site. and tested it out on the same browsers: everything EXCEPT the slideshow now works perfectly; there's not a trace of the ss.What am I doing wrong? I've retraced all of my steps several times -- I even re-FTP'd it -- all with the same result.

I want to create a slideshow banner that will showcase our products. The slideshow will contain the image of the product, the name, the price, the item code and the link when someone clicks on it. Each week we update the best sellers and it can be from 5 to 15 different products. Similar to what we have now in our website www.deiequipment.com which now is static, we want to animate it and rotate the products like a slideshow.The problem we are encountering is that we have to manually update the slideshow content.
We would like to know if there is a way through scripting or catalyst to connect to a database and simply update all these fields automatically. So for example if the database has 5 items, automatically will pre-fill each field listed above and the slideshow will have 5 products.
If we update the database now with 10 products, to update automatically. That way we can create 1 slide show, the time it takes to rotate to the next product, and add simple button controls to the slide show for next and back that will simply go through the loaded items.I tried to do a research on how to do it online but some takes me to scripting, others to catalyst dabases, but none are specific to what I need.As a note, the image will just be an image holder that will be updated with the image field in the database that points to the URL location of the image.
I have created a pie preloader(preloader.zip) which is working fine. Same preloader I am trying to incorporate in a xml based slideshow(slideshow.zip) to show image loading process but some how I got stuck. I am new to flash. Suggestions are welcome.
1. How to solve the problem of preloader2. Is it possible to integrate everything in a movie clip (including AS). I mean no AS on main time line but inside the movie clip. It would be much easier then to to create multiple slideshows by duplicating mc and changing the xml file.
I'm trying to find out how to make a simple image gallery which changes image upon a mouse click on a button, when a button is pressed I want the image to slide in from the left into the viewable area and then when another image is selected I want the previous image that was viewed to remain in the screen and then the new image slide across over the top to replace the image.
I can get the images to slide across from the left upon a mouse click however I can't change the layer order so if image 6 is viewed and then I click to see image 1, the image will slide into place however it will be below image 6 so therefore not viewable.
I don't have an example of what I'm after but I hope my explanation was good enough, I've seen this been done in javascript but I have to use flash and am unable to replicate the effect I'm after

There are some users that see white space (the stage) before thefirst image loads. Depending on the clients connection, etc this can take aslong as 2 or 3 sec.
