Flash :: Grant Access To Webcam Programmatically / Behind The Scenes?

Jul 16, 2010

We're building a kiosk app that will have a fairly wide deployment. The app is in Flash running in a browser and requires the use of the webcam. As it stands, each kiosk will show the usual Flash "do you want to allow the use of your camera/microphone" dialog, which I suppose a local admin could click through, choose "remember," etc.

Given that this is a kiosk app, where we have access to the machines themselves (or at least to people who do), is there a way to pre-seed the whitelist so the dialog does not appear?

Flash :: Stop Webcam/mic Access From Being Remembered

Nov 25, 2011

I have an event that's triggered when the webcam/mic access is allowed/denied.

addEventListener(StatusEvent.STATUS, sendStatusResponse);

I need sendStatusResponse to be fired everytime to let the server know the stream has started, however if the user has clicked on the remember checkbox this function is never fired.

Is there a way I can prevent them from clicking remember, or is there a better event to use so that I can store a timestamp of when the stream ACTUALLY started.

Android :: Flash: Access The Webcam Inside An Webpage?

Mar 14, 2012

I have a very stupid question: can android (I use samsung galaxy S2 mobile) can access teh webcam ?In my flash application, I got a flash security alert that allows to autorize or deny the access to webcam.

When I run this flash, it never shows this security alert and then It does not access the webcam. I do tests for instance with the website [URL]: works fine on my PC, works fine on my galaxy s2, but since it never shows me the autorization dialog, I cannot stream my webcam.

Actionscript 3 :: Flash Webcam Access Request Prompt Unresponsive

Jun 24, 2010

I have a parent swf called Main.swf that loads a child Registration.swf via a regular loader class then adds it to the stage. This child has a webcam function that captures an image but before that happens it prompts the user for permission to allow the webcam to be turned on. The problem I'm having is that in my IDE the prompt works like a charm and continues through to capturing image data. When I plop the files on a live server it fails. A friend recommended that it's most likely an issue with how I'm requesting permission from the child, so instead I'm calling an event to the parent telling IT to prompt and still no luck. Having the same issues. Note: The parent .swf was published as Player 9 and the child is in Player 10. I had to do it this way because each package has dependencies that require it.

Webcam - Detect Flash-accessible Camera Without Prompting User For Access To Camera If One Exists?

Oct 11, 2010

From a Flash object, I would like to be able to detect the presence of a webcam that the user might grant access to, without actually asking the user whether they want to grant access. This is to streamline a large application that has extra features if a webcam exists — if there is a webcam, the application will present several dialogs that lead up to the normal cam-security prompt, but if the user doesn't have the hardware, I want to skip over them altogether. Requesting access to the cam before those dialogs won't make sense to the user.

It appears not to be possible to call Camera.getCamera() without the security prompt happening. Is there a workaround? (For instance, could I, perhaps, call getCamera in a hidden Flash object and inspect its return value, or does it block until the user acknowledges the security prompt?)

Silverlight :: Access To Webcam In Browser?

Sep 13, 2010

For an internal project we would like to play with building a video conferencing system.We are able to decide the browser that the user has to use and can install plugins. The only requirement is that the browser and plugins must be free and work over Linux and Mac.(Don't care about Windows)What is the best way to do access the webcam and mic stream from a user for sending to a server? Ideally I would like to do this plugin free but I can see no implementation of the devices tag in HTML5 in any browser yet, unless someone knows different.If its flash/silverlight, any quick examples of capture and sending to a server?lso any examples of streaming video from a server to a client would be useful, so we can stick it all together. This I know we can do in HTML5 so this would be a preference.

The client connection part is all I would need as we are building the server, this is the internal challenge.Basically I'm looking for good examples and best practices for sending and receiving this information.Edit: As I have discovered from some groups the device tag is no where near completion. So answers will have to be flash/silverlight (does that work on linux??).

Make A Movie With Multiple Scenes - Streaming Sound And Scenes Sync

Jul 3, 2009

whenever I set my sound to stream and continue to make a movie with multiple scenes. The audio and video get disgustingly out of sync sometimes even off by 30 seconds. I just started an animation its only 10 seconds long with two scenes and the AV is already off by about 5 seconds. Ive worked around this by avoiding scenes altogether but i really don't want to have another 5000 frame scene. I discovered this problem in Flash MX and Im quite annoyed that it still has't been fixed 3 years later!

Flash Load ALL Scenes Of A Movie Or Does It Load The First Scene And Then Load The Other Scenes?

Jun 2, 2010

I am working with a project that has many scenes. Each scene has a movie clip attached to it. The first scene is simple...just a couple of buttons and that is it. My worry is that when I add all of the videos that correspond with each button and publish the SWF will be a huge file. THE QUESTION: Does flash load ALL scenes of a movie or does it load the first scene and then load the other scenes when the user needs to view them?

My ultimate goal is to just have the first scene load and then when the user clicks on the buttons contained within that scene that only upon release does the corresponding scene load. Maybe I am doing this completely wrong and should look at doing it another way.

Flash - How To Print SWF Programmatically

Dec 26, 2010

The stand-alone Flash player has an option to print a SWF. However, there is no shell action registered for this, and as far as I can see the only way to do it is to use a keyboard macro (or do something invasive such as inject a DLL in the player). Is there some official API for this?

ActionScript 1/2 :: Track Scenes Viewed And Display Image A Or Image B Based On Scenes Viewed

Feb 26, 2011

I have an interactive story divided into scenes. At the end of each scene a button appears. This occurs on a frame on the timeline.

There are two different buttons that might appear based on whether a prior scene has been viewed or not.

For example, there are Scene_1 and Scene_2. At the end of Scene_2 one of two buttons will appear. The buttons will be either "Go see Scene_1" or "Return to Main Menu".

If the user has already seen Scene_1, Flash will know that and automatically go to the frame in Scene_2 that contains the button "Return to Main Menu".

Conversely, if the user has not seen Scene_1, Flash will know and automatically go to the frame in Scene_2 that contains the button "Go see Scene_1".

I imagine there would be an action frame at the end of Scene_2 that will contain the as2 code to enable this action.

Perhaps something like, but probably not at all like the following:

if ("Scene_1", last frame == true){gotoAndPlay("frame#");}else{gotoAndPlay("frame#");}

Flash - Extract Fonts From PDF Programmatically?

Nov 17, 2009

I am developing PDF to e-book converter which will run on a server.I need to programmatically extract embedded fonts from PDF file to finish the project.Now I am able to extract images and text, but to display content in the Flash Player precisely I need the fonts to be extracted from PDF and compiled to SWF to be loaded by Flex application at run time.

I am wondering if it's possible, as such tool as pdf2swf.exe from SWFTools is able to do this. I have decompiled the swf file produced by the tool and there were fonts embedded.The extracted fonts will be used for displaying the same content from PDF file only, just in Flash player. So i think it will not be any rights violation? Moreover, people who will use the converter have all rights for the PDF files content.

So I see next workflow:

1. Call pdf2swf.exe to produce SWF file with fonts embedded;

2. Call some tool (Which one?) to parse previous SWF to SWFs with separate fonts.

3. Load the SWFs with fonts to Flex application at run time to correctly display content.

IDE :: Making A Graphic Flash Programmatically

Feb 19, 2009

I am trying to make a graphic flash at regular intervals that I can control via AS3. I was trying to do this with tweening but I am getting bogged down because for some reason when I try to get the darn thing to loop it just won't do it. I want to be able to change the rate at which the graphic flashes on and off the screen within the constraints of the frames per second so that I can simulate a light and sound machine. Ideally I'd like to be able program the starting frequency of the flashing light (say 15hz) and the ending frequency (5hz for example) and the program would gradually shift the frequency from one to the other over the course of the graphic. For right now I would love it if I could just programmaticly set the frequency of the flashing graphic within the limitations of the frames per second.
