Flash :: How To Preload With 8 Scenes

I am having a movie with 8 scenes and being in Thailand where the internet is slow I would like it to preload before it opens because now, after it opens a lot off the stuff ain't there yet like buttons and animations that are built into different scenes.

However, I have a main movie and in there I open the multiple scenes. If I use the preloader alone with the scenes it works, but when I want to load the preloader that should open the scenes inside the main movie it doesn't do anything.

In the old situation I use a button goto frame - and on the frame there is actionscript that says:

whenever I set my sound to stream and continue to make a movie with multiple scenes. The audio and video get disgustingly out of sync sometimes even off by 30 seconds. I just started an animation its only 10 seconds long with two scenes and the AV is already off by about 5 seconds. Ive worked around this by avoiding scenes altogether but i really don't want to have another 5000 frame scene. I discovered this problem in Flash MX and Im quite annoyed that it still has't been fixed 3 years later!

I am working with a project that has many scenes. Each scene has a movie clip attached to it. The first scene is simple...just a couple of buttons and that is it. My worry is that when I add all of the videos that correspond with each button and publish the SWF will be a huge file. THE QUESTION: Does flash load ALL scenes of a movie or does it load the first scene and then load the other scenes when the user needs to view them?
My ultimate goal is to just have the first scene load and then when the user clicks on the buttons contained within that scene that only upon release does the corresponding scene load. Maybe I am doing this completely wrong and should look at doing it another way.

I have an interactive story divided into scenes. At the end of each scene a button appears. This occurs on a frame on the timeline.
There are two different buttons that might appear based on whether a prior scene has been viewed or not.
For example, there are Scene_1 and Scene_2. At the end of Scene_2 one of two buttons will appear. The buttons will be either "Go see Scene_1" or "Return to Main Menu".
If the user has already seen Scene_1, Flash will know that and automatically go to the frame in Scene_2 that contains the button "Return to Main Menu".
Conversely, if the user has not seen Scene_1, Flash will know and automatically go to the frame in Scene_2 that contains the button "Go see Scene_1".
I imagine there would be an action frame at the end of Scene_2 that will contain the as2 code to enable this action.
Perhaps something like, but probably not at all like the following:

I upgraded to Flash CS4 and found out i dont like actionscript 3. i have an older flash site I opened in CS4 and all the actionscripts work on the scenes. I began a new flash file and created scenes with the actionscript 2, but it wont let me enter the script in the actionscript window. Here is an example of what i am using to navigate with buttons. Can someone chime in and show me a simple method to navigate thru the scenes with actionscript 3 or how to continue to use actionscript 2.

I've been asked to make a simple game and have very basic flash knowledge, I was approaching it as an "interactive comic" kind of way to make things easier for myself. However it's become very cluttered and I'm trying to figure out how to link scenes to keep things a little more organized so I don't make things harder than they need to be. I've looked online and followed the instructions to a tee, however when I try to impliment them into the game, nothing happens, no error code, just nothing happens. The .fla is too big to attach, so I've attached a brand new .fla using the same codes.
I've tried the following codes:

}
That didn't seem to work, so I tried naming the scene as you'll see and tried that, still nothing, I'm sure I'm missing something really simple but having very minor flash knowledge I can't see what that is.

It would appear that FileReference.upload() is the only way in which you can upload a file to the server in Flash and get feedback about its upload state via a PROGRESS callback. All other methods just go off into the ether and come back when the file upload is completed.
Unfortunately, FileReference appears to insist that a user select the file to be uploaded. There doesn't appear to be a mechanism by which to set the file through code. The reason I need this is that I'm allowing the user to upload massive files and am uploading them in chunks, so, I want to just pack a chunk of data into a FileReference (maybe 5 or 10 megs) and send that off and watch it go. Does anyone have any thoughts on whether it's possible to manually load data into a FileReference object? The data property is read-only, sadly.

From a tutorial page, I manage to built this flash page with xml capabilities. But when I add more scene to the flash page, I have errors like this.

How do I edit the "MyContent.as" file so that I can add more scene to the flash. I understand that, once i put the "MyContent.as" in the document class, it will load immediately, is there any way to tell it to load only in scene 2 (which is where the xml is needed).

We're building a kiosk app that will have a fairly wide deployment. The app is in Flash running in a browser and requires the use of the webcam. As it stands, each kiosk will show the usual Flash "do you want to allow the use of your camera/microphone" dialog, which I suppose a local admin could click through, choose "remember," etc.
Given that this is a kiosk app, where we have access to the machines themselves (or at least to people who do), is there a way to pre-seed the whitelist so the dialog does not appear?

I have 3 scenes in my flash, so when I run the movie it goes through all scenes, however I have a button which send you to the next scene.
When he is not pressed I want that just first scene( in my case Scene 1 ) is looping. I mean I have 30 frames in Scene 1 and when it is on frame 30 I want to go to frame 1 of Scene 1.
How to do that using ActionScript2.0?

I'm still a newbie at this program, I've wasted a lot of time tryin to figure out and resarching for solutions on how to play the 2 scenes I have created in flash. Scene 1 is a plane animation while the 2nd one is a time based animation that depends on the time in your computer. The movie should be played scene 1 first then scene 2. I have tried the gotoAndplay AS script but it doesnt work.

so now when i preload, flash will preload all those classes and MC with linkage 1st.
but i need flash to preload certain MC 1st, because i need it for my preloader's visual. Is there a way that i can force flash to preload the MC that i wanted 1st?

ive been attempting to make a portfolio of my music and art in flash which is basically just 4 scenes that have buttons at the edges which i want to be able to move over and have it animated to look like its scrolling in the direction of the next scene
i broke each screen down into dummy scenes so i could work out problems without ruining a real project and so far (with this forums help) ive been able to create a music screen with on/off buttons and clickable thumbnails for the art screen etc etc so far so good...i even managed to get the buttons working with 3 different 'entry' animations depending on which scene it came from
so yesterday i decided to make the proper project starting with the navigation structure and space for 3 entry anims per scene...i thought i had made everything the same as before but nothing happens when i publish it...the buttons dont work at all

I'm thinking about how to approach the problem at hand. There's a flash movie that requires a lot of relativly small images and I'm trying to optimize the time it takes for them to be preloaded.
One thing I've considered it turning on KeepAlive in Apache on the server side. That works. But my mind still wonders if there's anything else
So, what other approaches I may try? Is there a way to compress all those images and then unpack on client side?

I have an intro page that allows users to enter either a high bandwidth (flash) version of the site or a low bandwidth (html) version of the site. The flash has a preloader but it is still quite long for some to load. I was wondering if it is possible and what the best way to have the swf file load behind the scenes on the intro page so that when the use clicks the high bandwidth enterance the swf is already loaded or mostly loaded.

I'm making a flv movie with dynamically loaded cuepoints (from xml).On every cuepoint there should fade in an image (jpg) . The path to this image is sent with the cuepoints.To be sure an image is loaded before the cuepoint is passed, i've created a preloader that preloads 4 image from the xml before even starting the video.After the video is started the preloader preloads the remaining images in the background.All works well expect for 1 thing:Flash does not seem to cache my preloaded images. In the bandwidthprofiler i can see that when a cuepoint passes, flash loads the preloaded images again. why does flash reload the image while it is already preloaded?[code]

how to link the buttons in drop down menu to the content(scenes) within the flash file? The drop down menu has been made using the masks. Those buttons, which are not drop down/masked, work properly. Those which are drop down/masked, do not work. The content appears after clicking on them, then disappears when other (drop down) button is rolled over.
