Jun 17, 2011I've been working on a framework in AS3 that I want to release, but first I obviously need to prepare some documentation for it.I've noticed that quite a few sites have the exact same layout, functionality etc as Adobe Livedocs, which has let me to believe that there's something open source out there for creating online documentation.
Ideally the system would be specifically suited for documentation in ActionScript 3. I don't have a requirement in terms of the documentation being automatically generated either - if there's something out there that looks/works nice I'm happy to manually create the documentation (provided it comes with tools for easily adding classes, arguments, etc).
C# :: Flash ActiveX API Documentation?
Oct 18, 2010I am trying to put a Flash ActiveX control into a Windows Form but I am running into a problem: a lack of documentation. The best I have found is a site called "F-IN-BOX" that has some documentation but much of the API is still a black box. For example, some property will take an integer or a string and provide no clue about what it wants. Another exanple is the FlashVersion() function that inexplicably returns 655361 on version 10.
Incidentally I'm having the same problem with Apple's Quicktime OCX. I've searched both sites and Google and I'm starting to wonder if either of these companies provide documentation for any of their products. Does anybody know where I can find documentation for either of them, even if it's the unofficial variety?

Dec 20, 2010It's been a while since I've done any AS3 dev. but now I'm working with CS5. I remember back in the good ol' days of CS3, You opened it up and there was a whole list of classes and it allowed you to drill down into each and see great examples and full documentation. Now, whenever I click on help it brings up this awkward and overly complex AIR interface. I don't like this! Is there anything like the old interface?

Jan 19, 2010Is there some way to compile swf. with some sort of batch file?
Example: I have two as. files. In the file Graphics.as, everything that is visual, and all the functions are placed. In the file Values.as, there is nothing butt a bunch of variables, that adjust the visual things in the end swf. This way, it is easy for anyone to adjust the end result (the swf).
The problem is, that I would like to lett people without Flash CS3/4 installed on teir Mac/PC to make this swf. from these as. files.

Aug 16, 2010I have tried countless times to install flashplayer 10 on my mac os x 10.4 (tiger) with no success. I have tried every troubleshooting suggestion, and at this point i am willing to try anything. This is what happens: I go to the adobe site and select the flashplayer 10 for my operating system. The flashplayer icon appears on my desktop and i double click it. I agree to the terms and click install It states that installation is successful. I then try to run a program and it says that i need to install flashplayer 10 in order for it to run, even though it says it has installed.

Nov 3, 2010We have an Adobe Air application. Now we'll make DVD's an ship them to potential clients. How can I be certain that the client can open this .air file if they don't have adobe Air installed? Also I saw that Mac's often wanna open .air files in applescript(also if Air is installed).
I know that there are install badge. But I think they don't work with local .air files. Or is there a way to install a local .air with a badge?

Apr 4, 2010I am trying to host a flash object inside an CAxWindow, I have managed to insert a shockwaveflash (SWF) and its working fine. I am trying to find all available API's that are available in the flash ocx. I am unable to find any documentation for the functions in the IShockwaveFlash interface.I know that Adobe doesn't have a documentation for using flash in VC++ but I was wondering if anyone can point me to a place where I can find an UNOFFICIAL documentation for flash.ocx or code samples as the only API that I could find and I'm currently using is "PutMovie".

Flash :: Correct Documentation For Globalization.DateTimeFormatter?
Jun 9, 2011The docs I can find for flash.globalization.DateTimeFormatter are here In those docs, the examples show the use of an important method called setDateTimeStyles(). However, there is no such documented method! Same goes for format().
I feel I'm missing something or am looking at dated/incomplete material (or am a complete idiot). Where is the correct/best documentation?
PS: I'm finding I have this general problem (missing/incomplete docs) quite frequently and this question could actually be "Where is the 'correct' flex/actionscript documentation? Or is it just bad?", but I'll be very specific (and non-inflammatory) to try and improve the odds of a clean answer...

Jun 13, 2010I have a flash website that's been running fine, but since I installed Wordpress on that server, the SWFs won't load from Internet Explorer. It still works fine in Firefox on both the Mac and Windows platforms. The Flash website is not associated with the WP blog at all, but it exists along side. I tried moving the blog folder up a level, farther away from the Flash site, but it didn't help. IE will see the index page, and the html elements, but no longer will load the flash. It's was working fine before. I should mention that there is also a b2 evolution blog installed in another directory on the server, if that makes any difference.

Feb 22, 2012I can't seem to embed using swfobject...I normally embed with object class ID but have decided to get to grips with deep linking.I've brought it back to basics without using swfaddress and thinking it would maybe sort out server side, still no luck, either server side or locally.Also tried uninstalling and re-installing my flash player, still no swf displayed.swfobject.js is in the same dir as test.swf

Jun 24, 2011My application requires Adobe Flash player to install. So if you are trying to install application and you have not installed Adobe Flash player yet, it automatically suggests you install Flash player. So by default this application needs version 10.2 so it tries to install it, but adobe blocks it, because it says that I am trying to install an old version of flash player, so how can I avoid this blocking, so I don't need to install the newest version of Flash player each time? How can I automatically install required version of Flash player?

Oct 2, 2009If your Flash app is in the middle of some code, such as a method, or the AS on a frame, and it gets a callback from an asynchronous event, how does it handle that? Is execution halted on the current code to handle the callback? Or does the currently executing code finish first?
I can't seem to find any white papers or documentation on the threading behind Flash.

Which implementation is running here: [URL] I have Vista Bussines SP2 but problem also exists on Windows 7 Home Premium. On IE 32 bit the capture image is flickering on my moves. This is very annoing. I compile my project with additional settings: -swf-version=12 -target-player=11.0 On for example Firefox this work much better but problem also exists. And external library is set to newest playerglobal.swc downloaded from Flash Adobe download site.
Flash :: Installing Through An Iframe Getting Redirected Back To The Outer Frame?
Dec 11, 2009I'm using adobe's example.swf to provide inline flash upgrades for users. However, if the example.swf is embedded in an iframe, and the user gets redirected, adobe will redirect them back to the inner iframe page, causing breakage.
Is there any way for this redirect to bring the user back to the outer frame?
