i'm writing pure ActionScript, without MXML, to create AIR applications.
when i try to reference the documentation by Command + Clicking on code (in this case i Command + Clicked on "Sprite") i receive the following error[code]...
I've been working on a framework in AS3 that I want to release, but first I obviously need to prepare some documentation for it.I've noticed that quite a few sites have the exact same layout, functionality etc as Adobe Livedocs, which has let me to believe that there's something open source out there for creating online documentation.
Ideally the system would be specifically suited for documentation in ActionScript 3. I don't have a requirement in terms of the documentation being automatically generated either - if there's something out there that looks/works nice I'm happy to manually create the documentation (provided it comes with tools for easily adding classes, arguments, etc).
I am trying to migrate a project from Flash Builder 4.0 to Flash Builder 4.5. After Flash Builder prompts me to choose my new SDK, I choose 4.5, Then I get the following error:" error "The required skin state 'disabledWithPrompt' is missing".

i have a problem about RDS and blazeds, when i use flash builder 4.5 to connect the server data, there is a rds error (403 or 404),but i can ping the http://10.25.129.151:8400/testdrive/test/" on Chrome or ie. So i don't know how to configure the rds in flash builder 4.5 or i will must configure others?

My issue this time around is trying to use the new DCD BlazeDS wizard in Flash Builder 4. If I set my project up as a combined Java/Flex app I am unable to connect to the RDS servlet using the wizard. I get a 404 error every time.
I'm certain the service is set up correctly since my app can access the exposed java classes and BlazeMonster can see the exposed services.
I'm trying to use server capabilities Flash Builder 4. But using different ways (i use 5 or 6 tutorial) get one and the same error within a week - "Channel disconnected - Channel disconnected before an acknowledgment was received." I looked up "gateway.php" and there was not even a closing tag ?>. Error repeated on a remote server (of course I changed all the settings to the mySQL database). Network monitor also gives error.Show where I can find a solution, please? It may be to blame Zend? But how to update it?

I have read that this is possible with the latest version of the AIR SDK (2.0).I am developing in Flash Builder and have discovered that it does not ship with the latest AIR SDK. Therefore I have tried two seperate solutions:
1) Following these instructions for overlaying the latest AIR SDK onto the current Flex SDK.URL...
2) Downloading the latest Flex SDK (4.1) and using that.
In both of these cases Flash Builder then recognises the NetworkInterface and NetworkInfo classes implying that the overlaying of the AIR SDK has been successfully. However when I then run the app the debugger throws an error on the following line:[code]I am not sure what steps to take next. I haven't found much about this online. I have built a FB4 application which accesses a .NET web service of a partner company. The app runs just fine in FB4 development environment, but won't work when published to my server. I can not figure out how to get past the following error: Security error accessing url Destination: DefaultHTTP It is unlikely that I will get a crossdomain.xml file on their server, so I'm trying to get it to work using a proxy. The proxy.php is located in the same directory as the swf, and it works just fine if I use it directly in the browser.
The following is what I currently have setup:

I built this nifty little weather/clock app as a way of learning to work with API's and incorporates both the yahoo weather api and the flickr api. Now that it is in functioning order, I decided I would port it over to a playbook app via a Flash Builder 4.4 ActionScript Mobile project. I was able to get it installed on the playbook simulator just fine however when the app launched it showed a blank stage. After several hours of research I determined it was a runtime error.After several more hours of research I found it was a security error when making a call out to the flickr api. The debugger reports the following error:

I have a component where a Button is wrapped in BorderContainer. I'm passing a custom property to the component at run-time to change the label of the button but Flex is reporting the following error:
Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference
When the error occurs, Flex highlights the following code:

Why do I need to do add extra namespace declarations (below) in a Flex 4.1 "MX only component set" project to get it to compile within Flash Builder? (It says mx:LineChart cannot be resolved when a chart is added via Design View, and datavisualization.swc is referenced.)
Is there a way I can get this to compile without adding these special xmlns:charts, xmlns:series and chartClasses to the declaration? (If I just leave the default namespaces and use mx:SomeChartComponent, it doesn't compile.)

I need to pass a struct and a string in a web service. I am using a WebService components to do so.upon my search, there is no struct type in actionscript and so I used a class for that one.

Basically it is a web service via MXML. So when I call the operation, it always go to fault part and shows Error #1088
I can't get the maxDisplayedLines to truncate the text at the end of my RichText object. It comes up with Error #2007 Paramater child must be non-null but I don't have a clue what would be null. The text I'm displaying is coming from textflow

and everything displays fine, even the thumbnails until I try to set the max lines. This is for mobile by the way.

I am trying to put a Flash ActiveX control into a Windows Form but I am running into a problem: a lack of documentation. The best I have found is a site called "F-IN-BOX" that has some documentation but much of the API is still a black box. For example, some property will take an integer or a string and provide no clue about what it wants. Another exanple is the FlashVersion() function that inexplicably returns 655361 on version 10.
Incidentally I'm having the same problem with Apple's Quicktime OCX. I've searched both sites and Google and I'm starting to wonder if either of these companies provide documentation for any of their products. Does anybody know where I can find documentation for either of them, even if it's the unofficial variety?
It's been a while since I've done any AS3 dev. but now I'm working with CS5. I remember back in the good ol' days of CS3, You opened it up and there was a whole list of classes and it allowed you to drill down into each and see great examples and full documentation. Now, whenever I click on help it brings up this awkward and overly complex AIR interface. I don't like this! Is there anything like the old interface?

I am trying to find all available API's that are available in the flash ocx. I am unable to find any documentation for the functions in the IShockwaveFlash interface.I know that Adobe doesn't have a documentation for using flash in VC++ but I was wondering if anyone can point me to a place where I can find an UNOFFICIAL documentation for flash.ocx or code samples as the only API that I could find and I'm currently using is "PutMovie".

View 1 RepliesThe docs I can find for flash.globalization.DateTimeFormatter are here In those docs, the examples show the use of an important method called setDateTimeStyles(). However, there is no such documented method! Same goes for format().
I feel I'm missing something or am looking at dated/incomplete material (or am a complete idiot). Where is the correct/best documentation?
PS: I'm finding I have this general problem (missing/incomplete docs) quite frequently and this question could actually be "Where is the 'correct' flex/actionscript documentation? Or is it just bad?", but I'll be very specific (and non-inflammatory) to try and improve the odds of a clean answer...
Does anyone know if there is a way to make the new Package Explorer window in Flash Builder emulate Flex Builders 'Flex navigator' window?
Bottom line is I don't always need to peer into SWC's, and I don't like having a 'default package' automatically created for me. Not sure why the interface wasn't made simpler, allowing access to more power and complexity only if necessary. I want to focus on the code, not on how to navigate and use the bells and whistles in the coding environment.

However, I keep getting this error:Unable to connect to the application to fetch profile data. try profiling the application again.I am using Internet Explorer 8 (the same problem also occurs with Internet Explorer 7) with Adobe Flash Player 10.1.102.64 (the Debug Player). In other words, I installed the latest of everything.For my launch configuration, I have used the path to an HTML file. This works fine for debugging but does not seem to work for profiling.
