i have a problem about RDS and blazeds, when i use flash builder 4.5 to connect the server data, there is a rds error (403 or 404),but i can ping the http://10.25.129.151:8400/testdrive/test/" on Chrome or ie. So i don't know how to configure the rds in flash builder 4.5 or i will must configure others?
View 1 RepliesMy issue this time around is trying to use the new DCD BlazeDS wizard in Flash Builder 4. If I set my project up as a combined Java/Flex app I am unable to connect to the RDS servlet using the wizard. I get a 404 error every time.
I'm certain the service is set up correctly since my app can access the exposed java classes and BlazeMonster can see the exposed services.

The connection between the two components is being done through blazeds. I have a component where a Button is wrapped in BorderContainer. I'm passing a custom property to the component at run-time to change the label of the button but Flex is reporting the following error:
Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference
When the error occurs, Flex highlights the following code:

Why do I need to do add extra namespace declarations (below) in a Flex 4.1 "MX only component set" project to get it to compile within Flash Builder? (It says mx:LineChart cannot be resolved when a chart is added via Design View, and datavisualization.swc is referenced.)
Is there a way I can get this to compile without adding these special xmlns:charts, xmlns:series and chartClasses to the declaration? (If I just leave the default namespaces and use mx:SomeChartComponent, it doesn't compile.)

I need to pass a struct and a string in a web service. I am using a WebService components to do so.upon my search, there is no struct type in actionscript and so I used a class for that one.

and I'm filling it up so that I can pass it on the web service like this:

Upon sending this request, it prompts me an error of Error #1088.

Does anyone know if there is a way to make the new Package Explorer window in Flash Builder emulate Flex Builders 'Flex navigator' window?
Bottom line is I don't always need to peer into SWC's, and I don't like having a 'default package' automatically created for me. Not sure why the interface wasn't made simpler, allowing access to more power and complexity only if necessary. I want to focus on the code, not on how to navigate and use the bells and whistles in the coding environment.
I just upgraded to Flash Builder 4 (beta 2) from Flex Builder 3 which I have been using since it came out. Problem: All the projects that were in my workspace from Flex Builder 3 did not carry over into Flash Builder 4 (e.g. in the "Flex Navigator" view if FB3). Flash Builder 4 now uses the .FXP format to manage projects, but Flex Builder 3 did not. Is there an easy way to get all my projects back into Flash Builder 4?
View 2 RepliesI'm working with a Flex 4 application (MXML and ActionScript front-end using BlazeDS and Java back-end) and I am trying to find the origin of an error. The user sometimes (maybe once a week) gets a pop-up window with "RPC Error" in their web browser. If they retry the operation, they get the same error. Restarting the browser or maybe just reloading the page makes the error go away. Looking in the server log, I don't see any error on the server side. How can I figure out the cause of the RPC error? Can I configure some setting in the browser or Flash player to get additional info?
I've searched the web & some forums including SO but I've come up empty-handed.Edit: in this case it appears the problem was loss of the network connection (user was connected via cell modem). I'm still interested in any ideas about how to troubleshoot this problem.
where does Flex builder 3 plugin output error messages? I'm trying to import wsdl however i keep getting an "unable to load wsdl" message.
Ive tried creating a trusted certificate in the jdk cacerts file however no success and could do with seeing what is actually the problem. I have looked under the Program Files/Adobe/Flex Builder 3 plugin/ folder but cant find anything which has been updated in the time frame ive been seeing the exceptions.

Now, if I start out with a blank bin-debug folder, then build and run the app everything works fine. However, if I then make a code change and build (without deleting the bin-debug) then run the app I get a runtime error:

Basically, I am using Flex 3, for past 2-3 days whenever I launch any Project or debug it, I get the message box saying "Flex Builder requires a more recent version of Flash Player." It says my curent FP as 9.0.115.0 and debug version as 9.0.45.0. However, my actual FP version if FP 10.0.22.87. I don't understand why this confussion! I don't know how can I know my actual version of Debug player.

I'm trying to use server capabilities Flash Builder 4. But using different ways (i use 5 or 6 tutorial) get one and the same error within a week - "Channel disconnected - Channel disconnected before an acknowledgment was received." I looked up "gateway.php" and there was not even a closing tag ?>. Error repeated on a remote server (of course I changed all the settings to the mySQL database). I have read that this is possible with the latest version of the AIR SDK (2.0).I am developing in Flash Builder and have discovered that it does not ship with the latest AIR SDK. Therefore I have tried two seperate solutions:
1) Following these instructions for overlaying the latest AIR SDK onto the current Flex SDK.URL...
2) Downloading the latest Flex SDK (4.1) and using that.
In both of these cases Flash Builder then recognises the NetworkInterface and NetworkInfo classes implying that the overlaying of the AIR SDK has been successfully. I have built a FB4 application which accesses a .NET web service of a partner company. The app runs just fine in FB4 development environment, but won't work when published to my server. I can not figure out how to get past the following error: Security error accessing url Destination: DefaultHTTP It is unlikely that I will get a crossdomain.xml file on their server, so I'm trying to get it to work using a proxy. The proxy.php is located in the same directory as the swf, and it works just fine if I use it directly in the browser.

I built this nifty little weather/clock app as a way of learning to work with API's and incorporates both the yahoo weather api and the flickr api. Now that it is in functioning order, I decided I would port it over to a playbook app via a Flash Builder 4.4 ActionScript Mobile project. I was able to get it installed on the playbook simulator just fine however when the app launched it showed a blank stage. After several hours of research I determined it was a runtime error.After several more hours of research I found it was a security error when making a call out to the flickr api. The debugger reports the following error:

When i stated to using debugging option, its showing error that, "The Flash Builder debugger failed to connect to the running application.Ensure that:

I can't get the maxDisplayedLines to truncate the text at the end of my RichText object. It comes up with Error #2007 Paramater child must be non-null but I don't have a clue what would be null. The text I'm displaying is coming from textflow

and everything displays fine, even the thumbnails until I try to set the max lines. This is for mobile by the way.

When setting up a source control repository for a Flex Builder workspace, what do you consider to be worth checking in? Do you exclude the workspace .metadata folder but keep the .project and other project specific files? Keep both? Throw away both? Is there a guideline you use to decide which is worth holding onto or do you do it out of practical experience?
