When writing code sometimes those red error icons pop up on the left side. Most of the time they are on point, but sometimes they are wrong. How can I hide them.

I am extending TextField to create my own implementation of it, and there are some properties & methods I would like to simply remove from use, eg:

I would like now to hide setTextFormat from code hinting, so when, in some other class, I type:

And hit ctrl+space I only see setPropertyIsEnumerable(...) and setSelection(...), no trace of setTextFormat(...). But no matter what I do it still appears, I tried @private metatag in asdoc, as well as some made-up (like @remove, @disable, @ignore, @deprecated). Using [Exlude] doesn't work either as, afaik, it works only with mxml. Is there some way to actually accomplish this task? Or am I forever left with useless and redundant code? Some plugin maybe? (I know I can just leave it as is and don't double methods, but, nevertheless, I'd rather have it my way)
Is it possible to show or hide a comboBox based off the selection made in another comboBox. I have been looking for documentation on this to no avail.

Any ideas on how to configure Flash Builder 4 to not listen for these keystrokes or to bubble them up to the browser?
I am building a project where I use an external API loaded from the web, and I also load files locally. As I understand it, I cannot load both local and external files without causing a security sandbox error.Once I open the API it seems to try and listen to mouse events and such, and causes a securityIts really annoying since I am trying to trace some debug outputs but I can't read them as they get overwhelmed by the error messages.I know I cannot fix it, but I would simply like to disable these warnings. If I add Mouse.hide() to a preexisting script, I get the following error; line1 1061: Call to a possibly undefined method hide through a reference with static type Class. If I add Mouse.hide():void; to a preexisting script, I get the following error: line1 Label must be a simple identifier Once this has happened, if I then remove ALL lines of script from the file...but leave the Mouse.hide(); [or Mouse.hide():void;], and also remove all objects from the stage, when I run the file, I still get those same errors.

In Flash Builder, for objects, properties, variables and such where your cursor is on it, the editor highlights all instances of that name in the code with a grey box. This can be very distracting and I was wondering if there was a way to turn it off or if there is a hot key to disable it.Another things that is very distracting are the mouse hover popups, although apparently there's no way to disable those :

My issue this time around is trying to use the new DCD BlazeDS wizard in Flash Builder 4. If I set my project up as a combined Java/Flex app I am unable to connect to the RDS servlet using the wizard. I get a 404 error every time.
I'm certain the service is set up correctly since my app can access the exposed java classes and BlazeMonster can see the exposed services.
I'm trying to use server capabilities Flash Builder 4. But using different ways (i use 5 or 6 tutorial) get one and the same error within a week - "Channel disconnected - Channel disconnected before an acknowledgment was received." I looked up "gateway.php" and there was not even a closing tag ?>. Error repeated on a remote server (of course I changed all the settings to the mySQL database). Network monitor also gives error.Show where I can find a solution, please? It may be to blame Zend? But how to update it?

I have read that this is possible with the latest version of the AIR SDK (2.0).I am developing in Flash Builder and have discovered that it does not ship with the latest AIR SDK. Therefore I have tried two seperate solutions:
1) Following these instructions for overlaying the latest AIR SDK onto the current Flex SDK.URL...
2) Downloading the latest Flex SDK (4.1) and using that.
In both of these cases Flash Builder then recognises the NetworkInterface and NetworkInfo classes implying that the overlaying of the AIR SDK has been successfully. I have built a FB4 application which accesses a .NET web service of a partner company. The app runs just fine in FB4 development environment, but won't work when published to my server. I can not figure out how to get past the following error: Security error accessing url Destination: DefaultHTTP It is unlikely that I will get a crossdomain.xml file on their server, so I'm trying to get it to work using a proxy. The proxy.php is located in the same directory as the swf, and it works just fine if I use it directly in the browser.

I built this nifty little weather/clock app as a way of learning to work with API's and incorporates both the yahoo weather api and the flickr api. Now that it is in functioning order, I decided I would port it over to a playbook app via a Flash Builder 4.4 ActionScript Mobile project. I was able to get it installed on the playbook simulator just fine however when the app launched it showed a blank stage. After several hours of research I determined it was a runtime error.After several more hours of research I found it was a security error when making a call out to the flickr api. The debugger reports the following error:

I have a component where a Button is wrapped in BorderContainer. I'm passing a custom property to the component at run-time to change the label of the button but Flex is reporting the following error:
Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference
When the error occurs, Flex highlights the following code:

Why do I need to do add extra namespace declarations (below) in a Flex 4.1 "MX only component set" project to get it to compile within Flash Builder? (It says mx:LineChart cannot be resolved when a chart is added via Design View, and datavisualization.swc is referenced.)
Is there a way I can get this to compile without adding these special xmlns:charts, xmlns:series and chartClasses to the declaration? (If I just leave the default namespaces and use mx:SomeChartComponent, it doesn't compile.)

I need to pass a struct and a string in a web service. I am using a WebService components to do so.upon my search, there is no struct type in actionscript and so I used a class for that one.

I can't get the maxDisplayedLines to truncate the text at the end of my RichText object. It comes up with Error #2007 Paramater child must be non-null but I don't have a clue what would be null. The text I'm displaying is coming from textflow

Bottom line is I don't always need to peer into SWC's, and I don't like having a 'default package' automatically created for me. Not sure why the interface wasn't made simpler, allowing access to more power and complexity only if necessary. I want to focus on the code, not on how to navigate and use the bells and whistles in the coding environment.
I am trying to debug a Flash Web Application using Flash Builder 4. View 2 RepliesI am creating a custom TextInput component that will define an "error" state. I have extended the TextInput class to change the state to "error" if the errorString property's length is greater than 0. In the skin class, I have defined an "error" state, and added some logic to detect the size and position of the error icon. However, if I have this code at the same time I use the "includeIn" property in the bitmap image tag, I get a design view error. If I either A) Only include that code with no "includeIn" property set, it works or B) dont include the code to set the icon size and position and only use the "includeIn" property, it works. Any ideas what could be causing the design view problem when I use both the "includeIn" property and the icon size/position code at the same time?
