In a Flex Project, whenever there's an error, I fill in the error data into a hidden TextInput then show the control to the user. I want to make it so that after showing the TextInput, it will automatically hide itself after some time with a fade effect.

I'm looking for a way to setup a slideshow of pictures that I can control with Actionscript. I've come up with something using setInterval, but I'm having problems with that, so I'm looking for an alternative method. I have maybe 5 photos. Starting with the first photo I'd like to have it slowly fade on, when it reaches an alpha of 99 or higher, it will wait a certain amount of seconds and then the next picture will fade in. I'd like to do this automatically through actionscript, don't want to use keyframes or animations.

View 1 RepliesI've been working with Flash Builder for quite a long time, but just lately, developing a relative small project in Flex, when I try to auto complete the code sometimes the whole application crashes (keeps loading forever). It happened when I was writing <Style source="" /> or even when it was auto generating an handler for an event, so I guess it doesn't depend on the classes I use.
View 2 RepliesI am extending TextField to create my own implementation of it, and there are some properties & methods I would like to simply remove from use, eg:
override public function setTextFormat(format:TextFormat,[...]):void{}
I would like now to hide setTextFormat from code hinting, so when, in some other class, I type:

t.set
And hit ctrl+space I only see setPropertyIsEnumerable(...) and setSelection(...), no trace of setTextFormat(...). But no matter what I do it still appears, I tried @private metatag in asdoc, as well as some made-up (like @remove, @disable, @ignore, @deprecated). Using [Exlude] doesn't work either as, afaik, it works only with mxml. Is there some way to actually accomplish this task? Or am I forever left with useless and redundant code? Some plugin maybe? (I know I can just leave it as is and don't double methods, but, nevertheless, I'd rather have it my way)
Is it possible to show or hide a comboBox based off the selection made in another comboBox. I have been looking for documentation on this to no avail.
View 2 RepliesI started to use Flash Builder with Adobe Flash CS5. Everything seems to ork great, but auto code completion if FB works only for FlexSDK classes. For example, if I'll write "import fl." list with "events;ik;lang; ..." appears, but when I write "import flash." i have ".text" suggestion only. I would be very glad if someone could tell me how to fix this. I couldn't find anything in google (code completion in Flash Pro works great, only in Flash Builder not).

Each time I want to test I have to go to Flash CS5, publish Main.swf and then run Preload.swf. Is there a way to automate this process so I can just press the "Run Main" button inside Flash Builder 4 and all that is done automatically?

I have list populated with different data from PHP and when pressed it opens a URL, but when I return to the list from the browser, it has the selection I made to go to browser still selected. So how do I reset the selection? By the way, its a flex mobile app.

Thing is, i use a folder whole structure to dynamically load content per level. Folder structure looks like this, not that it matters that much:[code]How should I go to distribute this? Should I just resort to make a zip file for the flash game and assume people know how to extract and open the swf? Is there any other way to port easily as an executable? Basically, I need some text to fade in, and the actual number to count up [from zero to the number]. I managed to get it semi-working, but I can't get the numbers to fade in. I am using Flash builder 4 to both build and manage (via cvs) projects. In recent days my designer has been having trouble committing to CVS, leaving a project blocked. I have troubleshooted troubleshot tested CVS and it is working fine (others can commit and retrieve without a hitch).
in an effort to start from scratch - I have removed the flash builder application (dragging it to the trash, its a Mac) as well as using the uninstaller (which does not work as well as I would have thought), but on reinstall - all preferences are still there - CVS connection and all.
is there a file or set of files I can delete to reset all of the prefs for Flash Builder (built on eclipse if that helps)?
