I'm working on a project for a website, I need to display statistics in a flash video, and as easy as it sounds, I can't get it to work. Basically, I need some text to fade in, and the actual number to count up [from zero to the number]. I managed to get it semi-working, but I can't get the numbers to fade in. I didn't know if there was any easy way to do this without doing it frame by frame.
View 2 RepliesI am new in the marvelous world of flash 8. I am building now my photo galley that I will then include in my Web site. Here are my 2 questions : My pics are featured in a big display with a thumb gallery under it. Until now I managed to create a mouse rollover effect on the thumbnails so that a big image of the thumbnail appear in the big display when I roll my mouse over its thumb. Codes are ok everything work perfectly. I want now to create 2 things :
1 : I want my images to appear in the big display by fading and
2 : I want a bigger preview window of my thumb when I roll over my mouse on each of them ( the preview window appear more or less like a tooltip and strech)
Here is the code I basically use for the gallery I achieved till now.

It's a bit of decoration to go behind a logo. When the dMove var is commented out I get the appropriate line of squares fading in and out at random spots along the x = 78 axis, but when introduced nothing appears at all...

Secondly here is my NEW problem.... I have some buttons on my page that fade as you roll over them, and they were working fine, UNTILL i changed my Publishing Settings>Flash >JPEG settings.. from 80 % to 100%. But even if i changed it to 81% it still messes up the fade. When i say messes up i mean the fade stops fading, and it just snaps from the pic to black.

But. Is it possible to kind of preload domain.tld/somepage.htm so the content (almost) instantly appears after the loading animation's finished?Also, a fade-out-fade-in effect would be nice, i.e. the loading animation fades out and the content of domain.tld/somepage.htm fades in.

I simply have one FLVPlayback component in the background and a movieclip on the layer above with an FLVPlayback component inside it. The first FLV component is constantly looping a five-second video. So all I need is for the movieclip containing the second FLV component to load the right file, fade in, and when the video ends, fade out. Absolutely all of that works... apart from the fading in. What I noticed was that my movieclip was fading in correctly, but the FLVPlayback component was empty and transparent until the fade had finished - then it played the clip. updateObject is the loop for all my objects. I have one centralized loop and in that loop it calls on an array of objects that have been placed on the stage. all of them containing the method updateObject. to update the status of the object. addGameChild() is a encapsulated addChild() , that not only adds the object to the stage, but places it in a array so it's updateObject() method can be called on. it is also used to make it easier for garbage collection.
Im a beginner at flash video, and have been using the built in FLV component which I can apply actionscript fades to easily. However I don't seem to be able to use them when I use the better method... NetStream. Here is an example fade:

View 3 RepliesI'm trying to create a cursor that follows the mouse around and leaves a fading trail behind it, and know I would never put something so "1998" on my site, but I thought it would be fun to try and recreate one anyway for my own enjoyment. Okay this is the issue that I'm running into the fading ball cursor does actually work but for some odd reason after about 4 or 5 seconds it leaves a small trail behind it that does not fade all the way, it's almost as if code was resetting and starting all over by dropping the current execution of the code and starting over????

I want the button to be "products" and when you mouse over it products fades out and innovation fades in and moves to the top right, like an animation.
I'm struggling to create an effect that I thought wouldn't be to complex to complete, however several hours latter...still can not make it work.
Using Motion tween Im attempting to make an image fade up! Meaning the image slowly fades up from the bottom of the image until the whole image can be seen.
I've tried using the fade effect and adding a masked layer that's tweened, however it fades in very harshly indeed, with the line of the mask very obvious.
Is there any way that I can do this so that it looks smoother and the line is less distinctive.
How to have a cool fade out/in effect when I change from one scene to another with a button. So far I have found a way to get the body of the web page to fade out, but do not know how I can have that and then load the scene that is selected by the button. There are multiple buttons that lead to different pages and I wish for all of them to cause the fade out of the first page and the fade in of the selected page.

I have was surfin' the tuts when I came across this one: Advanced Rollovers. So I whipped up a sig, and finally got what I wanted. But when I press ctrl - enter to preview it, the rollover affect doesn't fade in and out, plus since it doesn't fade in and out, the image never entirely disappears.
