I'm importing a video in flash cs5, using actionscript 3.0. I have copy the SkinOverPlay.fla and i'm changing it to fit my needs. I am looking for just a play/pause button (no other controls) in the center of the screen that disappear when the mouse it out of the video. How to play the video in loop.
View 1 RepliesI have an FLV Playback component in a website that I'm working on and for some odd reason the controls do not work. The video loads and plays fine and the controls appear but you cant click on anything like you can when you assign the skin in the parameters. It is a default Flash skin. At first I thought it was due to the video layer being under a mask, so I moved it on top and it didnt change anything.

One is on top of the other and fade's between them using left/right buttons.I want to change this so that they slide in like a jQuery slider does. I don't want to change the initial position of the movieclips (on top of each other) just change the fade effect to a slide in.
View 1 RepliesEmbedded a few FLV movies in my flash SWF and they appear ok and play back properly when I test the movie from within flash (CNTRL + ENTER) or just run the generated SWF file i can see the playback controls fine.
But when i put that flash movie into a HTML file and preview it, the playback controls are nowhere to be seen. I have a strong feeling it has something to do with the location of the playback skin in relation to the movie or html file (but i have copied the skins like 10 times and pasted them into every level of my website and I still cannot see the playback controls!
I know how to make a basic sideshow with transitions, how to add playback controls. I need to make a web banner similar to this one:

I used the new FLVPlayback component to progressively download a flv video. When I test the movie locally it works fine, but when I embed the flash into a html page then upload all the materials (html, main swf, flv video and skin swf) the video plays but the playback controls are missing.
View 5 RepliesI took a .flv and placed it in a .swf in Flash Professional CS5 (for smoother playback on my website), and I used Dreamweaver to embed the .swf on one of my webpages. The video plays back fine, but there are no playback controls. In Dreamweaver, I set "PLAY" and "LOOP" to false, so in order to play my video, I have to right-click it and press "Play." That seems odd and possibly confusing/inconvenient for anyone viewing my website (particular potential employers, because this is my online portfolio). how to add playback controls? I don't want to use any external players (like Flowplayer), as I am trying hard to avoid watermarks and having to pay for anything extra.
Interesting note: when I used Dreamweaver to insert the .flv, I had the option to select from a list of playback controls. However, the .flv did not play smoothly on my website, and I found the solution to place the .flv in an .swf for nicer playback.
I have two FLV's that I have playing back to back. They use the following code, but I'd like to add the video controls/controller to the player, which I'm not sure how to do. This is what I currently have:

Unlike a typical FLV import where you can add the particular video controls that you prefer, I'm not sure how to add that manually via AS. What would be the best way to do this? I'd obviously like to be able to control volume and have a timeline scrubber that will work on both videos.
It's a bit of decoration to go behind a logo. When the dMove var is commented out I get the appropriate line of squares fading in and out at random spots along the x = 78 axis, but when introduced nothing appears at all...

My question is how do I incorporate playback controls to a Embedded Video that plays with the timeline? I saw how easy it was to add playback components when you import video externally. I figured that I probably need to start by creating my play back components, but then I need code to tell the swf what to do?

Basically, I need some text to fade in, and the actual number to count up [from zero to the number]. I managed to get it semi-working, but I can't get the numbers to fade in. Secondly here is my NEW problem.... I have some buttons on my page that fade as you roll over them, and they were working fine, UNTILL i changed my Publishing Settings>Flash >JPEG settings.. from 80 % to 100%. But even if i changed it to 81% it still messes up the fade. When i say messes up i mean the fade stops fading, and it just snaps from the pic to black.
View 7 RepliesMy client wants so have a loading animation/movie (already created that in Flash CS5) on the website's start page (root, '/' - the first thing you see when you go to domain.tld).When the animation's finished it should forward to another page (i.e. the real page with the content), e.g. domain.tld/somepage.htm I can do this with, for example, getURL() in Flash and it works fine.
But. Is it possible to kind of preload domain.tld/somepage.htm so the content (almost) instantly appears after the loading animation's finished?Also, a fade-out-fade-in effect would be nice, i.e. the loading animation fades out and the content of domain.tld/somepage.htm fades in.

View 1 RepliesI'm creating a programme on flash where some of the scenes have FLV players playing various videos. They all work fine, stopping and playing etc. However when I leave the scene by clicking my "home" button, the video stops, but the outline of the player stays up in the new scene!

View 0 Repliesi am trying to set up a movie in as3/cs5 that works as follows:on the stage there are 3 (maybe 4) movieclips - that are divided into 6 areas.the movieclips themselves have some parallax effect on them (see attached .zip).what i am trying to do is add some script into the movie to do the follow things - first one is that when the mouse goes to the furthest edge of the browser/movie stage - the movie slides to the next/previous section of the movieclip - or rather moves the movieclips to show that section.the other thing is to add buttons to slide the mc's to the corresponding sections.so on the stage there are 4 mc's (divided into sections) if the mouse goes very far left or very far right - the mc's slide across to the next or last section/s - and if the buttons are clicked the movie will slide to a define position on the stage.does anyone know how this can be done? i've been looking for source or tuts but with no joy! View 1 RepliesI'm trying to make a faux 3D rotation animation where if the user mouses to the right the object rotates right and if the user mouses to the left the object rotates left. Depending on how far they move the mouse the rotation should speed up or slow down.I spent a lot of time making an object in 3d studio max and importing the animation of rotation as JPEGs onto the timeline. I figured the most efficient way to go about this would be to make the mouse control the timeline instead of the object itself.
View 4 RepliesI'm building a web app to design and animate simple 3d scenes using the Away3D library, but the design of the interface itself is built around a scrolling menu which takes up the whole height of the screen.
The problem is, on OSX browsers have a silly quirk where if the page is scrolled when it has already gone as far as it can, the page can be dragged slightly further, revealing a brushed metal background. This looks nice and whatnot, but it pretty much ruins scrolling in a swf object. I use flash builder and export to safari, which is just about useable, if pretty annoying (especially with a mac touchpad, which can give a much higher scroll delta than a mousewheel can), but when I open my app in firefox/chrome the same effect happens, and causes the app and browser to slow down drastically.
I've found code which uses ExternalInterface to stop the swf sending mouse events to the page, but they all seem to disable detection in the swf as well, and I can't find anything else which help. If anyone knows of a solution you'll be saving me from throwing a few months' work away for what seems like a suspiciously unnecessary drawback to Flash on OSX!
I need to be able to position the controls at the very bottom of the screen and have the controls stretch from left to right - anyone know the code to acheive this?
