ActionScript 3.0 :: Adding Playback Controls To Multiple FLVs?
Apr 6, 2012
I have two FLV's that I have playing back to back. They use the following code, but I'd like to add the video controls/controller to the player, which I'm not sure how to do. This is what I currently have:
Code:
var videoList:Array = ["20120331_102028.flv", "20120331_102102.flv"];//we also define the currentIndex here:
var currentIndex:int = 0;
[Code].....
Unlike a typical FLV import where you can add the particular video controls that you prefer, I'm not sure how to add that manually via AS. What would be the best way to do this? I'd obviously like to be able to control volume and have a timeline scrubber that will work on both videos.
I've an SWF which loads dinamically six FLV files controlled by actionscript code.My goal is to guarantee a smooth playback, so I've to do a global preload of each file. So, I've created an array. Each element of this array contains a custom objecte named PreloadFLV that contains a reference to a NetStream object in a field named flv_ns.To process the preloading, I do before a NetStream.seek(1), then NetStream.pause() and then with a Timer I check the percent progress. When the percent progress is equal to 100, I start the clip. This is a small piece of code:
I took a .flv and placed it in a .swf in Flash Professional CS5 (for smoother playback on my website), and I used Dreamweaver to embed the .swf on one of my webpages. The video plays back fine, but there are no playback controls. In Dreamweaver, I set "PLAY" and "LOOP" to false, so in order to play my video, I have to right-click it and press "Play." That seems odd and possibly confusing/inconvenient for anyone viewing my website (particular potential employers, because this is my online portfolio). how to add playback controls? I don't want to use any external players (like Flowplayer), as I am trying hard to avoid watermarks and having to pay for anything extra.
Interesting note: when I used Dreamweaver to insert the .flv, I had the option to select from a list of playback controls. However, the .flv did not play smoothly on my website, and I found the solution to place the .flv in an .swf for nicer playback.
Embedded a few FLV movies in my flash SWF and they appear ok and play back properly when I test the movie from within flash (CNTRL + ENTER) or just run the generated SWF file i can see the playback controls fine.
But when i put that flash movie into a HTML file and preview it, the playback controls are nowhere to be seen. I have a strong feeling it has something to do with the location of the playback skin in relation to the movie or html file (but i have copied the skins like 10 times and pasted them into every level of my website and I still cannot see the playback controls!
I have a list of flvs that are selectable with buttons and I would like to add cue points to the individual videos to trigger other events and I'm afraid my skills are lacking here. How do I target an flv in a list to add cue points and how do I target these cue points to trigger movie clips?
I have an FLV Playback component in a website that I'm working on and for some odd reason the controls do not work. The video loads and plays fine and the controls appear but you cant click on anything like you can when you assign the skin in the parameters. It is a default Flash skin. At first I thought it was due to the video layer being under a mask, so I moved it on top and it didnt change anything.
I used the new FLVPlayback component to progressively download a flv video. When I test the movie locally it works fine, but when I embed the flash into a html page then upload all the materials (html, main swf, flv video and skin swf) the video plays but the playback controls are missing.
I'm importing a video in flash cs5, using actionscript 3.0. I have copy the SkinOverPlay.fla and i'm changing it to fit my needs. I am looking for just a play/pause button (no other controls) in the center of the screen that disappear when the mouse it out of the video. How to play the video in loop.
My question is how do I incorporate playback controls to a Embedded Video that plays with the timeline? I saw how easy it was to add playback components when you import video externally. I figured that I probably need to start by creating my play back components, but then I need code to tell the swf what to do?
Will there ever be the ability to add a 'Record' button to a player such as those used with Ustream, Justin.tv and other similar players? I run a live stream and would love for the viewers to have a 'Record' button so they may capture the video to their local hard drives for later playback.
I have 3 videos to load into a single flv component. I want to be able to load these movies randomly. How would I go about doing that? I have no idea how to start
Any input on precaching multiple flv's at once to make sure they all play properly at once? Fairly small filesizes/resolutions/compression all around. I'm open to ideas. I plan on using a preloader to go from 0 to 100 as the videos precache.
play a number of FLV files at the same time on one SWF? Basically I have a brief to create a video banner with a number of FLVs of people playing at the same time but starting at different points in the videos. My concerns are with loading times, memory consumption and the starting of each FLV at a different point and looping it.
On my main timeline i have some buttons. When you click a button you are diverted to the a frame label on the main timeline.
When the timeline stops at say frame 2 an flv is loaded into an empty movie clip on the main stage. If you click on button 2, same thing. So in total I have about four FLV's that play when a button is pushed. If i keep clicking my buttons to test the smoothness of my flv's, after about three clicks from navigating between my frames/loaded flvs, my entire main movie becomes slower.
Each FLV is about 5mb.
Below is the code that gets initated when I click my button and am taken to that frame. My question is this, if i'm jumping between FLV's at every button click is the FLV that played first still playing and causing the entire main movie to slow down? Is there a better way to manage this? Do I have to unload the movie being played when i click? I'm trying to see if there an more efficient way to have smooth streaming from my flv. The flv that is getting initated is simply looping when it's done and servers a 'moving background'.
is there something else i can implement into my code that will keep my loaded flv's playing smoothly?
I'm having a problem with Flash Media Interactive Server 3.5. I have a simple application setup. I would like to simply to be allow the user to record multiple flvs. This is just because we want them to record, preview and either publish or try again.
[Code]...
to start and stop recording. The problem I'm having is that while the first record seems to go ok, the second gets garbled. The video starts about 70% through, and then just plays a small portion. I've tried meta injection to fix it up, but it's just not working. I'm thinking maybe I have to reset the stream or something before starting a record again, but I don't know how.
Is it feasible to play a number of FLV files at the same time on one SWF? Basically I have a brief to create a video banner with a number of FLVs of people playing at the same time but starting at different points in the videos. My concerns are with loading times, memory consumption and the starting of each FLV at a different point and looping it.
I have 3 flvs, that are rather big in dimension, that I am using as backgrounds. When I use any of these flvs my movie works fine but when I switch to a new background my movie takes a big hit in performance. I am guessing this has something to do with the garbage collection in as3 because i explicitly get rid of the old background. What is the best way to cycle through multiple flvs without loosing performance?
Heres code I am using to switch backgrounds removeChild(theBackground); theBackground = null; theBackground = assetLoader.getBackground(level); addChildAt(theBackground,1); [Code] .....
I've searched around and havent really found anything definitive about this. Im trying to preload five flv files and then get them to play one after the other with as little pause in between as possible. Im thinking I might need to create five netstreams and then pause them, check to see if theyre loaded, start playing then first when they are with the others hidden, then after flv one is done show the container for flv two, etc. Ive done a test and I still get a bit of a jump in between flvs. Has anyone done then and got it to work without that hiccup?
I am currently working on a flash project that need load and play 5 different external Flvs @ the same time. the flv files are between 2MB to 36MB. I am using AS to dynamic load them into the main SWF. it works locally on my laptop but when I upload everything on to JustHost, only the smallest one shows and start to play.
How can I add a single control bar to control 2 external FLVs inserted in FLA document so that when scrolled, both FLVs move simultaneously? Is there a better PPT to Video Converter out there than Moyea that I can purchase or even a freeware? Original documents One FLV is a PowerPoint presentation with videos in some slides, converted into FLV using trial version of Moyea PPT to Video ConverterAnother one is an AVI converted into FLV using Super
I saw a similar question posted on Aug 15, 2007 ([URL].. but the "Look Here" link that describes the solution is not available (removed by Adobe for security reasons).
Is there any way I can create a slider on my desktop to access some of the controls of the YouTube Video player like volume, pause, play, playback speed? I know it is a flash player, but would this involve accessing the YouTube API or something else? For example, I'd like to program something similar to what's provided by the Enounce MySpeed application (control over play back speed).
I'm having trouble adding any instance of the fl.controls to my class.
Compiling does work. And even in debug-mode it passes the moment, when the control is added to the mc. But then during runtime - I guess it happens before the controls have to be displayed - I get something like a null-reference exception. Either it's error 2007 (experianced with ProgressBar) or it's 1009 (experianced with RadioButton).
It's exactly the same problem which is described in the comments of the ProgressBar documentation.
I've inserted an audio file into my flash movie and I wondered if there was an easy way to add some volume control and/or an on/off audio button to the movie? Or would this have to be scripted using actionscript?
To make it, I attached the audio clip to the frame, and used Actionscript 2 to set the frame to stop the audio and manually advance to the next frame. Is there an easy way to show a progressive bar showing the time remaining for the audio playback, and have rewind, stop, start/pause and fast forward?
Im adding videos to my stage with AS3 and was wondering if it is possible to then add the standard flashh video controls to the video with script..[code]
I'm attempting to add some user controls to a flv for a client. I've added the flv to a swf and added the FLVPlayback component no problem. I've exported the movie, again, no problem. When I play the movie on my local drive, it plays just fine. Here is where the problem comes in: I've uploaded the movie to a live server to embed in an html page so that my client may preview the controls before giving final go ahead for the project. However, once the movie is upload to a a live server, the FLVPlayback component no longer appears in the movie and the flv no longer plays.
I have a TabBar Control with 3 tab, i need to add controls(Button,Label) dynamically in to each tab, I can add the controls to the initial selected tab but when i add to next tab , i am getting Null exception error That is when TabBar property selectedIndex="0" means i can add to 1st tab.but not in 2 and 3rd. when Tabbar property selectedIndex="1" means i can add to 2nd tab.but not in 1 and 3rd.
What am I missing here because my video doesn't have any controls? Is there a special parameter I need or do I need to encode the SWF file in a special way? I just used a MPEG to SWF converter provided by Blaze Media Pro.
I created a video in After Effects and rendered the output to an .flv, works fine when I embed in html and upload to my server. But now I'm having a problem with the next phase and that's adding a link to the flv using Cue points. I read the tutes on this but cannot get past the following. First I tested this by importing the flv picking the skin for the player and importing straight to an html page in Dreamweaver. I uploaded the html, flv and player to the server and it works great.
Now I need to add a url link to a certain frame of the flv and read the tute on how to import the flv into a new fla file, I see where I can scrub the timeline inside the flv and thought I was home free as all I had to do was upload and add the cue points. But now I see where I had to take the .flv and import as video to a new fla and after importing the flv it clearly states that the component will only play locally. After making sure the flv was on the server I uploaded the html and swf. When I try to playback from the server I get a browser Which is named "Flash Player Installation" with a blank screen.
