ActionScript 3.0 :: Multiple FLVs Loaded Properly?

On my main timeline i have some buttons. When you click a button you are diverted to the a frame label on the main timeline.
 
When the timeline stops at say frame 2 an flv is loaded into an empty movie clip on the main stage.  If you click on button 2, same thing. So in total I have about four FLV's that play when a button is pushed. If i keep clicking my buttons to test the smoothness of my flv's, after about three clicks from navigating between my frames/loaded flvs, my entire main movie becomes slower.
 
Each FLV is about 5mb.
 
Below is the code that gets initated when I click my button and am taken to that frame. My question is this, if i'm jumping between FLV's at every button click is the FLV that played first still playing and causing the entire main movie to slow down? Is there a better way to manage this? Do I have to unload the movie being played when i click? I'm trying to see if there an more efficient way to have smooth streaming from my flv. The flv that is getting initated is simply looping when it's done and servers a 'moving background'.
 
is there something else i can implement into my code that will keep my loaded flv's playing smoothly?

I'm having a problem with Flash Media Interactive Server 3.5. I have a simple application setup. I would like to simply to be allow the user to record multiple flvs. This is just because we want them to record, preview and either publish or try again.

to start and stop recording. The problem I'm having is that while the first record seems to go ok, the second gets garbled. The video starts about 70% through, and then just plays a small portion. I've tried meta injection to fix it up, but it's just not working. I'm thinking maybe I have to reset the stream or something before starting a record again, but I don't know how.

I've an SWF which loads dinamically six FLV files controlled by actionscript code.My goal is to guarantee a smooth playback, so I've to do a global preload of each file.So, I've created an array. Each element of this array contains a custom objecte named PreloadFLV that contains a reference to a NetStream object in a field named flv_ns.To process the preloading, I do before a NetStream.seek(1), then NetStream.pause() and then with a Timer I check the percent progress.When the percent progress is equal to 100, I start the clip.This is a small piece of code:

I have 3 flvs, that are rather big in dimension, that I am using as backgrounds. When I use any of these flvs my movie works fine but when I switch to a new background my movie takes a big hit in performance. I am guessing this has something to do with the garbage collection in as3 because i explicitly get rid of the old background. What is the best way to cycle through multiple flvs without loosing performance?

I've searched around and havent really found anything definitive about this. Im trying to preload five flv files and then get them to play one after the other with as little pause in between as possible. Im thinking I might need to create five netstreams and then pause them, check to see if theyre loaded, start playing then first when they are with the others hidden, then after flv one is done show the container for flv two, etc. Ive done a test and I still get a bit of a jump in between flvs. Has anyone done then and got it to work without that hiccup?

I am currently working on a flash project that need load and play 5 different external Flvs @ the same time. the flv files are between 2MB to 36MB. I am using AS to dynamic load them into the main SWF. it works locally on my laptop but when I upload everything on to JustHost, only the smallest one shows and start to play.

I have two FLV's that I have playing back to back. They use the following code, but I'd like to add the video controls/controller to the player, which I'm not sure how to do. This is what I currently have:

Unlike a typical FLV import where you can add the particular video controls that you prefer, I'm not sure how to add that manually via AS. What would be the best way to do this? I'd obviously like to be able to control volume and have a timeline scrubber that will work on both videos.

I am making a movie quiz game, where a movie clip plays and the user must enter an answer into an Input Field.

My question is:

Can I write/include some actionscript that will allow the Enter/Answer button that I have coded to detect WHICH of my pool of 100 video questions is playing, so that I can assign the correct answer in the actionscript on my Enter/Answer button?

The Code: Frame 1 to load the .flvs randomly:

I'm trying to create universal loader of flash games on one entertainment site. What I want is to make some kind of container (SWF A) which will load another flash to it (SWF B) (by some params).
 
SWF B could be anything - AS1 / AS2 or AS3 flash. SWF A is programmed with AS3. Problem is that not all SWF games, which I try to load, works fine. Some games lost their click events, some games does not load at all, some games are corrupted. When I run that games separately (not using my loader), games work just fine. Why is this happening? Why some flash games are not working properly after loading by another flash?
 
I'm using Loader object to handle this, without any special settings - same as on examples on AS3 Bible book...

So I made a drag and drop app where I can drop in an image, it get's resized and saved automatically on the desktop.

But now I want to do the same when there are multiple images dragged in. This is where I'm stuck...

I just discovered that one of my old AS2 projects isn't working properly anymore in Firefox.I have a multiline TextField with htmlText that works fine in the  Flash IDE, and fine in IE8, but in Firefox it behaves rather strange: each paragraph appears on exactly two lines, no matter how long it is!  It always breaks before the last word of the paragraph, even if the  whole of the line is shorter than the textfield width.
 
But  this behaviour only shows up if the text is loaded in from an XML file!  If the same text is simply assigned to a string, it works normally.

I have some problems with Bitmap displaying properly loaded image, when providing variables as width and height in the constructor as opposed to numbers, example:

Running the app with this code cuts away half of the picture from right and half of the picture from the bottom. Since the BitmapData is filled with solid white background, the clipping is clearly visible. When line marked with [*] is commented out, and line marked with [**] is uncommented instead, the whole picture displays and all is just as expected. The only difference between those two lines of code is, that in line [*] are used some properties+variables, and constants are used in line marked with [**].

I'm creating a banner advertisement in Flash. It pulls all information from an XML file. Images for each product are also loaded externally. Everything is working fine except for 1 thing.

I have an image separator i'm using as a background for each product container to lend a bit of separation to each product. But when I try to add it using code it's only added to the last item. Doesn't matter if it's 10 items or 2 items...it's only being added to the last one and i'm not sure why. Anyways, i've zipped up the associated files and put it on my webserver. I'm using the Tweener class and have included that in the archive as well.

how you properly organize dynamically loaded thumbnails from an xml file, into a grid.What I'd like is for the number of columns and rows to be set in the xml file also, and for the flash file to auotmatically fill out the rows / columns based on how many thumbs are in the xml file.

I've found examples of this type of thing in both as3 and as2, but I can't seem to get my as2 version working properly... how to create a thumbnail grid in as2...I don't really want the thumbs to link to a bigger version fo the image...

I want to build a xml news with images, the image path is there in XML. Image serve as thumb, and then news title and content below...if we have 3 item as news, we all stack it vertically and using scrollbar to sroll content below. done that, but...this time, I want to use different kind of HEIGHT of the images, so my vertical scrollbar can scroll them down. my previous file,I load a fixed height, so stacking will not a problem. For instance if we know that the max thumbnail is 150pixel, then its easy, after XML loaded,I run a function to stack them, let say the next news Text(title & decs) is 150px + 10pixel as vertical offset.

However, if I dunno the next image's height, flash seems cannot detect the height of the PhotoMC where we load images to.so we cannot execute all in one frame, I heard we can achieve this using listener.my pseudocode is something like this

What I'm trying to do is get the total bytes of all the files I want to load and display the percentage loaded of total bytes and bytes loaded of all the files. Its a slideshow so i want all the files loaded and then it will play. I've looked at bulk-loader but it wasn't what I needed. The image are loaded from an xml file. I think I would need to create an Array and then find out the total bytes but I don't know how to reference the loader in the progress.

CS3 : Too Many FLVs Loading?

I have one .swf that references several FLVs in a separate folder. That .swf is embedded several times on one webpage and each one references a different video.My only problem is that they all load when the page loads. I would like the first video to load automatically (not play automatically, just load) and the rest to only load when they are clicked.I have been trying to control the buffering with JavaScript where the .swf are embedded but have been unsuccessful.I have also fooled around with the buffer time parameter of the FLVPlayback component and still no luck.

ActionScript 1/2 :: FLVs Will Not Play From CD On XP

I have a Flash CS3/AS2 project containing swfs with FLVs. When I Publish the "START.fla" which pulls all the files together, I tell Flash to create a "Projector" for Mac and an "EXE" for Windows. On my (OS X) desktop this Projector thing works perfectly...swfs open from a menu in my GUI, the swfs reference flvs and the flvs play. The swfs are in the same folder as their flvs.

If I put this whole folder full of files over to the WinXP box (via shared folder), double click on the EXE - no flvs will appear. Everything "leading up to" an flv works - but where there should be a video there is none. Moving on I burn the project onto a CD. When I open the CD on the Mac and find the Projector - I double click and it still works great. Everything flawless.

I put that same CD into the WinXP (SP3) box, find the EXE and double click. As I expected - no improvement, the GUI opens,the swfs can be launched from the menu, but no flvs appear. I get the swf that references the flv - but no flv. I even waited extra time thinking it would eventually happen. No. Why it should work on Mac and not on XP? Where should I look for the glitch?

IDE :: CuePoints Work In Some FLVs, Not Others?

I am having an issue with setting CuePoints in a FLV that is not natively FLV. My code works on files that were exported directly from AfterEffects to .FLV. However, some of the video files I am working with are originally .MOV files. When I pass them through either Adobe or Flash Media Encoder, the CuePoints are not recognized. It seems very strange.

Here is the code, although the code works perfectly with native FLVs, so I don't think that is the problem. I'll put it on here just in case.

How to play flv's from Action Script2 one after another? Let's say I have 3 clips .flv. And I want to play them one after another.
In case I'm writing this:

Only the last clip is playing actually. How can I implement "one after another"?

i need to play two FLVs continuously one after the other - you might think it's an easy task, but every time i try to do that there is this annoying gap between the videos that flickers, and it's have to be seamless.the ON_COMPLETE event worked poorly, so im sampling the playheadTime of the first FLV and test it for it's end, minus a certain offset value.. but the lag is still there.i ever rewrote the FLVPlayback component to my own NetStream object extending, hoping it will take less run-time memory consuming but noting...and the thing is,the lag sometimes happens, and sometimes don't..when trying to sample the gap it brings me different values every time, but there is no way to correct it,because changing the playheadTime causing a random, few milliseconds lag itself, and we are back to square one..

Implement Closed Captioning Into FLVs?

implement closed captioning into my FLVs. I have successfully set up the FLVplayback component, and the FLVplaybackCaptioning component to work. That's not the issue. The issue is, once I have my swf, flv, and xml files (needed to successfully use CC in a FLV), I need to insert that .swf into my captivate project.

It appears to insert/import OK, but once I publish the project, the swf does not appear, and in fact the FLV icon sits on the slide rapidly blinking. Neither the video plays, nor can I even see the playback component/closed caption component (swf) that holds the FLV.

All paths are relative, so the only things I can think of that may be causing the issue are:

a)Captivate doesn't support CS3 FLVPlayback or
FLVPlaybackCaptioning components

b)Since Captivate allows importing of FLV files directly, running the FLV through the component's swf is a problem

c)The hierarchy of files needed for the Closed Captioning FLV (xml, flv, swf), interfere with compiling the new Captivate .swf
upon publishing I've also been told that the FLV captioning component only works in Actionscript 3.0 which runs on Adobe Virtual Machine 2.Captivate publishes .swf files using Actionscript 2.0 which runs on Adobe Virtual Machine 1. Therefore, what I need to do will not work.
