IDE :: FLVPlayback Component - Adding User Controls?
Jan 30, 2009
I'm attempting to add some user controls to a flv for a client. I've added the flv to a swf and added the FLVPlayback component no problem. I've exported the movie, again, no problem. When I play the movie on my local drive, it plays just fine. Here is where the problem comes in: I've uploaded the movie to a live server to embed in an html page so that my client may preview the controls before giving final go ahead for the project. However, once the movie is upload to a a live server, the FLVPlayback component no longer appears in the movie and the flv no longer plays.
I tried to look this up, but can't seem to find what I am looking for. How do I hide the FLV Buffer in the beginning and the playback controls that come with it?
I have a flvPlayback component in this url as you can see the controls are at the bottom so you can pause/play, adjust volune, etc. I've embedded the first url in a post at this site everything works fine there except the control bar is missing
Im using the FLVplayback component for a project im doing. I want to add the time elapsed and time left on the controls (just like how the player on the tutorials on this site works). I dont really want to create my own controls, as im happy with the flv playback component.
I had made a custom Youtube player in Flash CS4 in AS3 with Play/Pause, Mute, Stop, Seekbar and VolumeBar Controls. My problem is "only" with the Seekbar and the VolumeBar. It always shows up a bounded Yellow retangle over the controls when you try to drag it (scrub it) using a mouse which looks really ugly... I have tried every possible ways to remove the tabstop, like tabEnabled, tabIndex , and the like but all in vain. Also I have tried to remove the focus from the stage of the FLVPlayback component, still in vain... You can see 2 screenshots here... [URL]
So I have a single swf which has a flvplayback with controls and at the bottom has a vertical playlist of videos.I have the following code to toggle fullscreen views [code]and it "works", but the problem I'm having is that the playlist is showing in the fullscreen mode as well. What I'm trying to achieve is t only have the flvplayback and controls show up in the fullscreen.
I have created a movie in Flash CS3 with the FLVplayback control. In the parameters of the control I have set the autohide of the player skin to false. But when I publish my movie to the webserver the controls are still autohiding. I have cleared my cache repeatedly and republished the movie repeatedly, but I can't seem to get the controls to stay up permanently.
I have done this with presentations many times and I have never had this issue before.
The presentation is being shown in IE8 with compatibility view off, although I have tried it with compatibility view on as well.
I have an stage on wich I have an flvplayback, custom controls to manage the flvplayback and some other infos bellow this controls.when I enter fullscreen with the fullScreenTakeOver set to true all the flash file goes to fullscreen, but I only want that flvplayback and the custom controls to manage go to fullscreen, not all the info below them.Is there a way to select what elements go to fullscreen and what elements not?I try to modify an skin of the flash predefined, but I do not find the way to add textfields to this skins and access dinamically to them from the file that has the flvplayback control.
In my project I have to play a flv vedio in swf file so in place a FLVPlayback component in one movieclip and when I hv to show I make that movie clip visible and play the vedio from starting. Its working fine on my computer but FLVPlayback controls (play pause button, seek bar volume controls) are not showing in other people computer on there browser...
I was wondering if there was a way to get the sound from a FLVPlayback component and manipulate it with using a custom volume slider? Within my Actionscript I currently have this code which enables me to control the volume of a MP3:
import fl.events.SliderEvent; var mysong = new music(); var myChannel:SoundChannel = new SoundChannel(); var myTransform = new SoundTransform(); myChannel = mysong.play(0,10);
[Code]...
But Instead of using the MP3 for sound, is there a way to use an FLV's sound instead?
I'm having trouble adding any instance of the fl.controls to my class.
Compiling does work. And even in debug-mode it passes the moment, when the control is added to the mc. But then during runtime - I guess it happens before the controls have to be displayed - I get something like a null-reference exception. Either it's error 2007 (experianced with ProgressBar) or it's 1009 (experianced with RadioButton).
It's exactly the same problem which is described in the comments of the ProgressBar documentation.
I've inserted an audio file into my flash movie and I wondered if there was an easy way to add some volume control and/or an on/off audio button to the movie? Or would this have to be scripted using actionscript?
Id like to find a gallery with user sign in , and user uploads but how difficult would it be to put in a gallery component ,and make a button to allow users to upload straight to a folder on the server? once th epicture is on the server the gallery will do the rest auto
To make it, I attached the audio clip to the frame, and used Actionscript 2 to set the frame to stop the audio and manually advance to the next frame. Is there an easy way to show a progressive bar showing the time remaining for the audio playback, and have rewind, stop, start/pause and fast forward?
Im adding videos to my stage with AS3 and was wondering if it is possible to then add the standard flashh video controls to the video with script..[code]
I took a .flv and placed it in a .swf in Flash Professional CS5 (for smoother playback on my website), and I used Dreamweaver to embed the .swf on one of my webpages. The video plays back fine, but there are no playback controls. In Dreamweaver, I set "PLAY" and "LOOP" to false, so in order to play my video, I have to right-click it and press "Play." That seems odd and possibly confusing/inconvenient for anyone viewing my website (particular potential employers, because this is my online portfolio). how to add playback controls? I don't want to use any external players (like Flowplayer), as I am trying hard to avoid watermarks and having to pay for anything extra.
Interesting note: when I used Dreamweaver to insert the .flv, I had the option to select from a list of playback controls. However, the .flv did not play smoothly on my website, and I found the solution to place the .flv in an .swf for nicer playback.
I have a TabBar Control with 3 tab, i need to add controls(Button,Label) dynamically in to each tab, I can add the controls to the initial selected tab but when i add to next tab , i am getting Null exception error That is when TabBar property selectedIndex="0" means i can add to 1st tab.but not in 2 and 3rd. when Tabbar property selectedIndex="1" means i can add to 2nd tab.but not in 1 and 3rd.
I have two FLV's that I have playing back to back. They use the following code, but I'd like to add the video controls/controller to the player, which I'm not sure how to do. This is what I currently have:
Code: var videoList:Array = ["20120331_102028.flv", "20120331_102102.flv"];//we also define the currentIndex here: var currentIndex:int = 0;
[Code].....
Unlike a typical FLV import where you can add the particular video controls that you prefer, I'm not sure how to add that manually via AS. What would be the best way to do this? I'd obviously like to be able to control volume and have a timeline scrubber that will work on both videos.
I'm making some custom controls/components and I have an issue with package paths. I know what I want, but don't know how to do it. I'll try to illustrate with code: PHP Code: package { public class Test extends Sprite { public function Test() { // let's make some instances... //I'll use full path names to avoid imports var _one:ClassOne = new domain.controls.ClassOne(); [Code] .....
This is all ok, works and stuff. But as you can see code is awefull. And If I make import statements: import domain.controls.Style; import domain.controls.classTwo.Style; I'd still have a mess in code, since I'd have to use full paths.
Now, I would like to simplify things, but keep it clear also. Lets say I'm making a component that uses several controls. I want to make package part of the assignment statement, like: Code: import domain.controls.*; ...... // inside my component test1.style = Style.DEFAULT; test2.style = classTwo.Style.RED; But this is not working. I was thinking about making some kind of proxy class/variable/object named classTwo.
I have an FLV Playback component in a website that I'm working on and for some odd reason the controls do not work. The video loads and plays fine and the controls appear but you cant click on anything like you can when you assign the skin in the parameters. It is a default Flash skin. At first I thought it was due to the video layer being under a mask, so I moved it on top and it didnt change anything.
In my flex app I have custom tooltips on buttons that hide and show based on user context. The problem that I dealing with is that when I call my showTips() function I only want to show tooltips on the buttons that visible in the view. So buttons that on a un-selected tab (tabNavigator) should not show the tooltips. For some reason all tooltips are showing. Is there a way to detect if a button is not in current view, like on a un-selected tab?
I am unable to add the Action Script 3 FLVPlayback component to my stage or library in Flash CS5.5 when working with an action script 3 document.
Under components in the video folder i click and drag anyone of the FLVPlayback components (FLVPlayback, FLVPlayback 2.5 or FLVPlaybackCaptioning) to the stage and nothing happens. I am unable to add it to my library as well. All the other actionscript 3 components under the Video folder work. (BackButton, BufferingBar, CaptionButton, If I create an actionscript 2 document the FLVPlayback component drags to the stage and adds to the library just fine. So this appears to be an actionscript 3 issue only.
I have 2 other employees in my office using the same product and none of them have this issue. Only me.
I have tried to uninstall the product and reinstall but nothing helps. I have Flash CS3 installed on my PC and the product has the same symptoms as the Flash CS5.5 trial version that I am running.
I did not try this with Flash CS3 before I installed the CS5 trial. So I do not know if it worked prior to my CS5 evaluation.
I know nothing about flash but this is what I am doind with CS5 Adobe Flash Professional:1. Import video. I type in the server location of my .mp4 file. Now when I save it and embed on a webpage it loads and works perfect, however it is not looping. So my question is in adobe flash professional what do I need to exactly?
Im using the FLVplayback component for a project im doing. I want to add the time elapsed and time left on the controls. I dont really want to create my own controls, as im happy with the flv playback component. The FLVs playing in the component are external and are loaded into it via as3
I will try to be as clear as I can. I have an existing swf file that I need to add Play,Pause, FF and Rewind to but I need the controls to be part of the swf file and not as a video player.
I am loading an external swf file that has all of the controls on it via this code:
[Code]...
I am doing this so I can rollover the viewing window and have it appear. I cannot get any code to work to control the timeline (which is broken down into sections with individual MC's in each section.
What I am looking for is the code to apply to the buttons on the external controller to control the playing of the movie.
I have tried numerous things but when I insert the FLVplayback Component into flash that is linked to an external video source the fullscreen function will not work but the video plays as needed.
I am working on AS3 project using Flash CS3. I have to display some videos using FLVPlayBack component. I am using the same component instance to display videos but when a new video is loaded the max duration property does not updates and hence the onComplete event is never fired. I somehow wanted to refresh the component when a new video is to be played.
