In my project I have to play a flv vedio in swf file so in place a FLVPlayback component in one movieclip and when I hv to show I make that movie clip visible and play the vedio from starting.Its working fine on my computer but FLVPlayback controls (play pause button, seek bar volume controls) are not showing in other people computer on there browser...

I have attached a video on a frame of my website in Flash. When I preview the movie the film plays as it should.But when I export the Fla. as a Swf. file it then doesn't have the movie there anymore?It does show this error:

I really don't know what that refers too.
I had made a custom Youtube player in Flash CS4 in AS3 with Play/Pause, Mute, Stop, Seekbar and VolumeBar Controls. My problem is "only" with the Seekbar and the VolumeBar. It always shows up a bounded Yellow retangle over the controls when you try to drag it (scrub it) using a mouse which looks really ugly... I have tried every possible ways to remove the tabstop, like tabEnabled, tabIndex , and the like but all in vain. Also I have tried to remove the focus from the stage of the FLVPlayback component, still in vain...

So I have a single swf which has a flvplayback with controls and at the bottom has a vertical playlist of videos.I have the following code to toggle fullscreen views [code]and it "works", but the problem I'm having is that the playlist is showing in the fullscreen mode as well. What I'm trying to achieve is t only have the flvplayback and controls show up in the fullscreen.

View 3 RepliesI have created a movie in Flash CS3 with the FLVplayback control. In the parameters of the control I have set the autohide of the player skin to false. But when I publish my movie to the webserver the controls are still autohiding. I have cleared my cache repeatedly and republished the movie repeatedly, but I can't seem to get the controls to stay up permanently.
I have done this with presentations many times and I have never had this issue before.
The presentation is being shown in IE8 with compatibility view off, although I have tried it with compatibility view on as well.
I have an stage on wich I have an flvplayback, custom controls to manage the flvplayback and some other infos bellow this controls.when I enter fullscreen with the fullScreenTakeOver set to true all the flash file goes to fullscreen, but I only want that flvplayback and the custom controls to manage go to fullscreen, not all the info below them.Is there a way to select what elements go to fullscreen and what elements not?I try to modify an skin of the flash predefined, but I do not find the way to add textfields to this skins and access dinamically to them from the file that has the flvplayback control.
View 1 RepliesI'm attempting to add some user controls to a flv for a client. I've added the flv to a swf and added the FLVPlayback component no problem. I've exported the movie, again, no problem. When I play the movie on my local drive, it plays just fine. Here is where the problem comes in: I've uploaded the movie to a live server to embed in an html page so that my client may preview the controls before giving final go ahead for the project. However, once the movie is upload to a a live server, the FLVPlayback component no longer appears in the movie and the flv no longer plays.

When I open the SWF's directly in FLash Player, all is well -- the controls appear and work fine. But when they are loaded into an empty, placeholder MovieClip, the skin does not appear![url]...
View 10 RepliesI would like to know if it's possible to edit a file from within the browser. I know where the file is and I know its format. I would like to some HTML5 and JavaScript but have little luck so don't mind using Flash or Java.
The file I would like to edit is the hosts file. C:WINDOWSsystem32driversetchosts on Windows XP.

I'm considering making a Flex/AS3 based web application but worrying about some employers (i.e. potential customers) that don't have access to Flash plug in version 9 and up. Why? Maybe their corporate standard for browser is old; maybe they lock down employees computers which prevents users to download and install the plug-in or an alternate browser; maybe Flash's ubiquity goes away in the next 3 years given Adobe's recent announcements; etc.Anyway, my question is, would it be possible to insert a USB Flash drive into the client computer in question and run a Browser having flash (e.g. chrome) on the USB drive (assuming such a browser has already been installed on the USB drive), to access the web application with full functionality? I'm just trying to think of workarounds if my customer doesn't have flash plug-in and can't download to install it.

Nonetheless, if I double click on the published HTML file, there isn't any video played at all. This doesn't happen if I put the files on a webserver, the video plays correctly on the browser.I checked the "source" property of the component, which doesn't have any absolut path (the video file resides on the same folder as the FLA/SWF folder, so the "source" property only has the FLV filename).

I implemented a FLVPlayback component in a Flash file I've published on my website, so it could load an external movie without having to put it in the SWF itself. It works fine when using the SWF offline, but when I put it online it never runs on the first go. I either have to restart the browser, or when that doesn't work I'll have to wait for a few hours before it magically does what it's supposed to do.This goes for both Safari and Firefox on my Mac, and while using Firefox on a PC (I haven't tested different scenario's yet). Once it works, it'll always work on that particular computer in that particular browser. At first I thought the browser didn't allow internet access to the SWF (the FLV that it uses are hosted on a different site), but that doesn't seem to be the problem. Maybe it's a cache issue, but I haven't been able to prove that either.URL..I kept the actionscript at a minimum. When the play button is pressed, it simply goes to the next frame where the FLVPlayback component is ready to launch the content. As you can see on my website there is a visual loader when you select the play button, but this is just an endlessly repeating movie clip that doesn't do anything accept give the viewer the idea that something's loading.
I have a fla (Home) with a flvplayback component. If I load it using a loader using this script

when I preview it in Firefox or IE and click on the seek bar or volume bar the control slider 'sticks' to the mouse cursor instead of jumping to the spot where I clicked. If I just compile it and play it in Flashplayer the seek bars work as expected. If I preview Home.fla directly they also work properly.Could this be a loader-flvplayback bug?
I have tried several ways to import a movie and create a web banner. I created a project in After Effects and exported as both an flv and an f4v. I imported to Flash with no skin and set the project to the same size as the content. When I test the scene, everything is fine. When I do a publish preview, all is well. If I view the published html file on teh computer I created it on, that works. If I try it from another machine on my network, or send the directory with all the files to others, it shows nothing - just a blank page with the flash object there, but no movie.
View 11 RepliesI'm trying to publish my FLA file in Flash CS3, and it creates the swf, HTML, and JS file but when I open the HTML file that is created nothing compiled in my swf file shows up. It only shows my static background, which has nothing on it. I'm dynamically putting everything else onto the stage (AS3). I'm also not getting any errors anywhere, so I have no idea what the problem is. I tried this same thing two weeks ago and everything worked fine, but now I have an empty HTML page.
View 4 RepliesI was wondering if anyone knew how to hide the skin in the flvplayback component on ROLL_OUT. SkinAutoHide seems to work whenever it feels like it and sometimes the button controls just stay over the video. This happens in Safari and IE I believe. I am used Actionscipt 3.0OR does anyone know how to get to the display list of the component, where all the names to all the buttons (and skin) is housed, using the instance names from the component fla file does not work. I looked at the documentation and the names of all the button sprites are there, but i need the name of the background that the buttons sit on top of.

I want my background to occupy 100% of the browser window and have the content to be centered.
Is there a much simpler way to do that without having to do it in a framework?
I designed a website for a company recently, and had a preloader screen for it.Now that its uploaded,when I visit the website, the browser downloads all the data first before displaying it, alright.But the preloader screen doesnt appear. When I simulate download in the swf, it shows the preloader screen properly.The AS on the 1st frame is something like this:

I want to show a PDF in browser, from which user can select text, showing pdf is very easy i have done this using "pdfviewer" control, now i want to get the selected text which the user selects in the PDF, is there any way to achieve this?

View 1 RepliesI have created a simple site in Dreamweaver, I have uploaded the site to a remote server and everything is great but for one thing. I have inserted a Flash image viewer that should show a selection of images, it works fine when launched from Dreamweaver into a browser window such as Firefox. However if I access the site using its domain name and recieving from the remote server no images/slides play.
I have done several things to try and rectify this. Made sure the images are in the root folder. entered 'base' and '.' in the parameters and made sure all image names start with a lower case (linux) and it still doesnt work.
I'm trying to do the following : I want a pdf to be downloaded but not in the broswer just to have the usual download to a folder thing (ecxcuse my english) This what I use but it always open a new window. [URL]
