ActionScript 3.0 :: Current FP Debug Version - Error "Flex Builder Requires A More Recent Version Of Flash Player"?
Jul 14, 2009
I identify my current installed debug version? Basically, I am using Flex 3, for past 2-3 days whenever I launch any Project or debug it, I get the message box saying "Flex Builder requires a more recent version of Flash Player." It says my curent FP as 9.0.115.0 and debug version as 9.0.45.0. However, my actual FP version if FP 10.0.22.87. I don't understand why this confussion! I don't know how can I know my actual version of Debug player.
a client asked me to incorporate a flash version check in a flash application i made for him.it should read something like: "you have flash player 10.x.x.x.x.x.x.x the current version is 10.1.x.x.x.x.x.x"the user veriosn is easy to get with Capabilities.versionbut is there an url on adobe's site to get the string of the current downloadable version from?
I am trying to write a Flash program that uses a capability introduced in verson 10 of Flash player, but my Flash Pro only has up to version 9 listed on the publish settings. Is there a way to make Flash Pro recognize version 10? Do I need to update Flash Pro?
Recently, when I tried to show the results of my work (some Flex app) to my boss, i was quite suprised that application which run perfectly well on my pc, on my boss' pc wasn't displayed properly (the only thing visible was a default grey background). After 3h of trying absolutely everything, finally the app showed up when I changed his Flash Player version from standard one to debug (both was v. 10.0.22.87). Does anyone know what can be the reason of this (any compiler flag or sth). Forcing my boss to installing debug FP was quite ok, but forcing final user of the app to do so is unacceptable.
PS: By showing I mean deploying to Tomcat on my pc and giving my boss a link to the app. We both use Win XP. Also when I installed debug FP for Netscape browsers and standard FP for IE (on my pc) the result is the same - working in Firefox, Opera, Chrome and grey background in IE. I've compiled both as a Debug and as a Release. I'm using Flash Develop 3.0.2 RTM After stripping my app to sth like this - it still works only in debug FP
I got an error when i tried to run the application as Flex Builder cannot locate the require version of flash player and saying you might need to install flash player 9.
I am using Flex Builder 3 with SDK 3.2 and having latest flash player of version 11.1.162
Even having latest version of flash player why i could not able to run the application?
I have built my personal webpage in Flash CS3/AS3. I did some updates today, changed some pictures and stuff. Now when I upload and replace the previous *.swf on the server, and try to load my webpage my browser displays the folowing message:
Content on this page requires a newer version of Adobe Flash Player. I tried exporting with Flas Player 8, and checked it using different bowsers too (curenntly I use the latest version of Firefox), but I get the same error when trying to relode my site. I have no more ideas what to do.
I am a experiencing an issue with loading of the haeader(flash) on the site I am currently working. Each browser behaves in a similar manner while not displaying flash animated header. I tried to save it as CS3, as CS4 alows me to do so and even that does not work.Details: I am using Dreamvewaver CS4 and Flash CS4 to build this site, could there be some type of an issue with DW4?
I'm working on code in FlashDevelop and compiling into Flash CS5.5. I want to use the debugger and I've downloaded the stand alone Flash Player Debug Version from the Adobe site. So how do I launch to and test using the Debug Player?
I've just stumbled upon a case when Flash app freezes in production Flash Player and works smoothly in a debug version. It doesn't throw any errors or exceptions. Has anyone ever encountered anything like this? Why is it happening or how one is supposed to debug in such case? And a side question - what exactly is different in debug version from internal point of view? Any good writeup on the topic?
UPDATE:I didn't mention, but the trouble is with Flash Player 11, it probably matters, cause Flash Player 10 doesn't have any problems with the same code.
I received an inheritance old flex project. I've never worked with Flex. I installed the latest Flash Builder and I need to know the exact version of used Flex SDK. Is there any way to know used SDK version from project files?
I have Flex builder 3 already installed on my machine. Now, I want to use Flex builder 4 also (officially Flash BUilder 4) on same machine. Can I directly start with Flex builder 4 and import my Flex BUilder 3 project there w/o any loss ? If not then, do I need to first uninstall my current version (3) or can I keep both the builder versions simultaneously ? Also, are there any pre known concerns with the migration ? Will it improve/degrade the performance (My system has XP professional, Intel core 2 Duo, 2 GB RAM ).
I need to validate an uploaded SWF to ensure it meets certain Flash and ActionScript version limitations. Anyone know a good Python library to parse metadata out of a SWF?
Is there a way to compile SWC files in different targets (Debug vs. Release) similarly how you can compile a SWF file with the AS3 Conditional Compiler constants?
This link shows how SWF files can be compiled with predefined compiler constants:[URL]..
But I need to know how to achieve this with SWC files instead.
Note: I'm using FlashDevelop (Windows 7) to create the SWC (if that's any help to refine the answer).
Are there any plans to upgrade the SDK to version 8 or 9 or release a updated flash version for the Wii. It's ridiculous that Adobe has not done this already considering the sheer volume of people using the Wii web browser.
Working with a SWf where it's worked all along, loading data from url...But, now, if you switch from Flash Player 10 to Flash Player 10.1, I get the standard security sandbox violation:[code]The crossdomain.xml is still in place and if I downgrade to FP 10 (or earlier), it works as expected.
I am able to port much of my application from Flex 35 to Flex 4.0
Next is to show my current system Operating system name (XP Pro, Vista, Linux..etc) along with the service pack level of my system on which my application is running.
I am able to show uo OS name "Windows XP" using "Capabalities.os" in Flex4.0. but not "Professional" or "Pro" exactly. But I could not find an API for showing up the service pack level.
I have to display the content in a label. I tried with Capabilities.cpuArchitecture and System.vmversion, but it shows up some other system data.
i m using adobe flash cs3 with AS3 . I have updated my flash player in version 10 and it's activeX. But while I gonna publishing it , I do not get option of version Flash Version 10 in Flash Tab of File>Publish Settings. How, can I have option of Flash Player 10 ?
I've migrated to FDT from flashdevelop and kind of have a hard time getting things to work the way I'm used to. In Flashdevelop, you could easily choose if the compiled swf was a release or debug version. In FDT however, it seems like there is no way to compile a version that has debugging information without it automatically opening up the debug perspective with a ton of debug windows, a profiler and actually entering debug mode.
As an extra plus, I keep getting a message saying "This feature is only available in FDT Max", although from what I know the debugger is included in the free version. Is there a way to do what I'm trying to do or should I just get used to this new way of working?
Is it at all possible to connect the Flash Player debug version to the debugger in Flex Builder using source code? I'm running an app which has no right click menu, and I therefore can't right click and select connect to debugger.
i have a Main class and a other class called Calc everything seems to works when its written fully written but when i condense it into a loop, behavior becomes different and broken posted the FLA and Class heres the working version [URL] and the loop [URL] im trying to get the loop version to behave just like the written out version,
The most recent version of Flash I own is MX 2004... is there a way to "upgrade" to the most recent version, or would I have to buy the full CS4 version outright?
If there is no upgrade, can I still make usable swfs with Flash MX 2004? It's been a few years since I used the software, not sure where the technology is at these days.
I imported my Flex 3 project to Flex 4 and removed all the errors and warnings listed in Flex 4 problem windows. I am having the following error in Flex 4 when launching my application.
What could be the cause of this?
Error: Compatibility version has already been read. at mx.core::FlexVersion$/set compatibilityVersion()[E:dev4.xframeworksprojectsframeworksrcmxcoreFlexVersion.as:254] at mx.core::FlexVersion$/set compatibilityVersionString()
I try to show a Flash-10 animation in DW CS4 and I get the messageVoor het weergeven van de inhoud op deze pagina is een nieuwe versie van Adobe Flash Player vereist. In English: for representing the content of this page you need the new version of Adobe Flash Player. I download the new version (two times: In IE 8 and Firefox) and I still get the same message. How come? When I try-out in Flash everything is OK and the HTML-page is also OK in every browser there is.
