i m using adobe flash cs3 with AS3 . I have updated my flash player in version 10 and it's activeX. But while I gonna publishing it , I do not get option of version Flash Version 10 in Flash Tab of File>Publish Settings. How, can I have option of Flash Player 10 ?
View 1 Repliesthis is the first time i encounter this problem.. I had the problem where a file would not open correctly which was also addressed at this forum. But this one is different. this file was created (from what i remember) in Flash 8, then opened/saved in all possible flash versions for updates in time. While it will open just fine, it will not publish. The publish window with the percentage will open up for a split second, then it will close with no messages whatsoever, no actionscript errors, nothing. F12, the same thing again. No possible settings could solve this.
I am willing to send the file for testing of course, have tried to publish using Flash cs4 and Flash cs5. I thought of going back to Flash 8 by opening the file and saving to a previous version but as soon as i open the file in Flash cs3 (while the file has been saved as cs3) it will not open the file with an error message that i cannot remember right now.

I made a 'whiteboard' app. Originally it was for Flash Player 7 then I changed the Publish Settings to point to Flash Player 8. Worked fine for me, but caused problems with my customer, so I changed Publish Settings back to Player 7. When the customer opened up the .swf which I'd emailed him, it opened in Flash Player 6, even though he had the latest player installed. When he deleted the old V6 player the problem was fixed. So my question is, why did my .swf open Flash Player 6 - and therefore lose some of it's functionality - when the customer had a later player installed?

View 1 RepliesI've just got back to webbydesign and Flash after a long break! I'm bit concerned about the fact that many public computers do not have updated Flash player in their browsers and therefore can't show content designed with CS4 correctly, or at all!
I can't check this myself right now, but if I select ie. Flash version 8 in publish settings using Flash CS4, will this disable all version 10 functionality while designing my site? As far as i know, v10 supports 3D and whatnot fancies, that I don't need atleast for now.

I no longer have access to a mac and my computer at home is a pc but whenever I go to open the file, a pop up tells me that its an unexpected file and will not open.

View 4 RepliesI am working on a flash file which i am hopeing to use for a project. I seem to be having a problem with the software. Everytime i make changes to the file and press CTRL + Return to test the moive, it comes up with errors. When i click on the errors to take me to the line of code with the error, it seems to be displaying code from a previous version of the same file which i deleted. When i delete the code and layers agin and then rewrtie the new code and add the new layers again Flash seems to stop responding for like 15 minutes. Once it does respond, i save the file and reopen it everthing seems fine but as soon as i press CTRL + Return the exact same thing happens.
View 10 RepliesWe have create a flash file for both Touchscreen TV and Website.The document frame is is 1920x1080 however we would like to export the project so it can be seen on the website at the correct compression.Is there a way to export the SWF to the required 945x532.I know how to export it in the HTML however this reads the same SWF that is still too large in file size (not web friendly).I could pull the compression down to say 10% before exporting the SWF however there must be a better method.

Basically, I am using Flex 3, for past 2-3 days whenever I launch any Project or debug it, I get the message box saying "Flex Builder requires a more recent version of Flash Player." It says my curent FP as 9.0.115.0 and debug version as 9.0.45.0. However, my actual FP version if FP 10.0.22.87. I don't understand why this confussion! I don't know how can I know my actual version of Debug player.
View 2 RepliesSince updating to 10.0.2, I have been unable to access the AIR settings (File -> AIR Settings) for my FLA file which is published as AIR 1.5.I get an JavaScript error pop up about "Apollo_OpenSettingsDialog.jsfl" every time I click on the menu option. The same thing happens when accessing the AIR settings through File -> Publish Settings -> Flash (tab) -> Player [Adobe AIR 1.5] (settings).This has rendered my previously working AIR project totally unusable as I can no longer make any changes to the AIR settings. Four months of work is now inaccessible.

Whatever I do in Publish Setting, Flash software always returns option to be Flash Player 11, I don't get this. I choose Flash Player 8 and AS 2.0 and re-open Publish Settings it is again back on Flash Player 11 and AS 3.0.

I am trying to work with a flash application in windows CE.
the folder containing the files has several .swf files in it. We'll call two of them abc1.swf and abc2.swf.
I have created two html pages which when viewed on my PC open up either file and view it just fine.

However, when I copy the directory to my windows CE 6.0 R3 device, the page that opens abc2.swf shows correctly. But the page that is supposed to open abc1.swf just shows a blank white area.
I am pretty sure that the abc1.swf is only supposed to redirect to abc2.swf (or put within a frame) given it's 1kb size and the fact that I can see the text abc2.swf within it when opened in notepad.
I've been told that the flash player built into Windows CE 6.0 R3 is only capable of supporting flash v8 or less. I suspect that perhaps the issue with abc.swf could be that it was built with a newer version of flash such as v9 or v10.
Is there any way for me to tell which version of flash a given .swf file requires using only freely available tools? Or, does anyone have any other theories about what would cause abc1.swf to work on my PC but not on my windows CE device?
I'm having a little trouble with my publish settings setup.Let's say that I have a file called MyFirstAnim.fla under the folder AnimSource.Then, I set the swf publish path to ../AnimFinal/MyFirstAnim.swf, and everything is great.Now, I need another file almost identical the first one, so I copy MyFirstAnim.fla and rename it to MySecondAnim.fla.hen I publish the file my MyFirstAnim.swf (under the folder AnimFinal) got overridden.So, I removed the swf part of the publish setting, leaving just the relative path (../AnimFinal/).
Am I smart or not?

View 2 RepliesI am on mac and haven't upgraded my OS from 10.5 to 10.6 so when I upload a file creted in Flash CS5 it won't play because it needs the Latest flash player which uses 10.6 OS.So what I'm getting to is that can I go into "publish" settings and change the Flash player from 10.2 to an older version and then will this work.Also, which version should I change it to? For example sould I select Flash Player 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 or 10.1?

View 4 RepliesI've just purchased Adobe's Design Premium CS5 and installed it from the disk onto a brand new Dell XPS laptop running windows 7 home, 64 bit. Every program runs great except for Flash professional which will not open. The loading screen appears, and then I get a message that says:
"Adobe Flash cs5 has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
I reinstalled, no luck.

View 4 RepliesI updated the flash library XML/SWF (chart library) to the latest version on my web application but the users still see the charts with the old library which is saved in there browser cache.How can I force the browsers of my users to download the latest version of the SWF files.I can't add a parameter at the end of the SWF file like : charts.swf?v=1234.
If I do that I get an error because the chart library load dynamically other SWF files of the library. The charts.swf file will be the new version but the other files will still be from the older version and I will get an error...
How can I use an older version of Flash player when publishing to Man/Win Projector? The Properties says 'Player: 7' but when I publish to Mac/Win (.app/.exe) the file says it uses Flash player 9 (9.0.115.0)! One of our clients are having issues with a project published this way - on autoplay they get a white screen instead of the program screen and after they update Flash on their computer, the application (Projector) works. What's the issue?

I am having the same problem as a lot of other folks. I have searched through this and other forums and nobody seems to have an answer - at least I can't find one. The set up is this: I tried to view a video - received a message that I need to download the latest version of Flash Player - did so and everything seemed normal - tried the video again and got the same message. I have tried everything suggested on the official Flash Support page as well as this and several other forums and nothing changes.
I haven't seed this tidbit in other threads and it is probably worth noting that when I go to the page on the Adobe site where you can check which version is installed - it says no version is installed even though it apears normally in the Programs and Features window and can be removed from there. Off-the-shelf version of Windows 7 Home Premium , 32 bit running on an HP Pavillion Notebook. No problems with Flash Player unitl 3 days ago.
