Professional :: Error "The Required Version Of Adobe Media Encoder Is Not Installed Or The Installation Is Damaged. Please Reinstall."?
Oct 27, 2009I installed Flash CS4 a couple of days ago. Trying it out for the first time today. I went to import a video & got a message: "The required version of Adobe Media Encoder is not installed or the installation is damaged. Please reinstall."
I'm showing a Media Encoder CS4 folder under my Adobe folder, so I assume I've got the latest version installed, but it's a corrupt installation & I need to reinstall. My question is: do I need to redo the whole Flash CS4 installation? The reason I ask is that our IT provided me with multiple files for the install - there's ADBEFLPRCS4Win_LS1.exe. That's for the main install. But there's also a ADOBEFLPRCS4Win_Cont_LS1.exe. That's the added content file. I don't want to uninstall/reinstall Flash if I don't have to. Does anybody know if Media Encoder installs from the main Flash installation file, or from the added content installation file?

Jul 30, 2008I'm running XP and have installed 6 .otf fonts, from the Avenir family. Flash MX 2004 and Flash 8 don't see all but the Light and Roman versions of the font (they are the only ones that appear in the font menu). Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop display all the fonts, however.
An associate suggested that sometimes Flash doesn't like the names to be non-standard; in other words, it doesn't like "Heavy", but prefers "Bold", etc. This seems to support the fonts not being displayed in the Flash font menu, as they are AvenirLTStd-Heavy.otf, AvenirLTStd-HeavyOblique.otf, AvenirLTStd-LightOblique.otf and AvenirLTStd-Oblique.otf. The only two being displayed in the font menu are AvenirLTStd-Roman.otf and AvenirLTStd-Light.otf ("Roman" and "Light" are pretty traditional names).
I've tried renaming the fonts to "Bold" and "italic", etc., but Windows still sees the original names. I've tried opening the fonts in Notepad and changing all references (for example, all "Heavy" to "bold"), but saving the font file (even if I add and remove a space) makes it unreadable as a font (security issues, I think). One reason I think it's a naming issue, is I did try renaming Heavy to Roman, and installed it, and Flash saw it as Roman, but it had the Heavy characteristic. This work-around doesn't work, however, as I need Roman, too (and renaming it Roman2 doesn't work). Is there any solution for this? I need access to all of the Avenir font family, as it's for a branded project that uses Avenir specifically. Oh, and last but not least, I have the fonts installed on my Mac, and Flash 8 and CS3 both see all the fonts, no problem.

Jun 18, 2010I use tinychat and tinypic. Now when I go on either one the text is invisible. I cant see any text, its there cause I can copy and paste it. I did not have this problem until I updated my flash.

Sep 21, 2011I downloaded the trial version so I could work on the final project for class but for some reason when I tried to save it my computer froze up. Is this because the save feature is turned off for the trial version or was it just my computer? Jun 30, 2010this is the first time i encounter this problem.. I had the problem where a file would not open correctly which was also addressed at this forum. But this one is different. this file was created (from what i remember) in Flash 8, then opened/saved in all possible flash versions for updates in time. While it will open just fine, it will not publish. The publish window with the percentage will open up for a split second, then it will close with no messages whatsoever, no actionscript errors, nothing. F12, the same thing again. No possible settings could solve this.
I am willing to send the file for testing of course, have tried to publish using Flash cs4 and Flash cs5. I thought of going back to Flash 8 by opening the file and saving to a previous version but as soon as i open the file in Flash cs3 (while the file has been saved as cs3) it will not open the file with an error message that i cannot remember right now.

Jun 22, 2011I've just purchased Adobe's Design Premium CS5 and installed it from the disk onto a brand new Dell XPS laptop running windows 7 home, 64 bit. Every program runs great except for Flash professional which will not open. The loading screen appears, and then I get a message that says:
"Adobe Flash cs5 has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
I reinstalled, no luck.

Sep 30, 2010How can I use an older version of Flash player when publishing to Man/Win Projector? The Properties says 'Player: 7' but when I publish to Mac/Win (.app/.exe) the file says it uses Flash player 9 (9.0.115.0)! One of our clients are having issues with a project published this way - on autoplay they get a white screen instead of the program screen and after they update Flash on their computer, the application (Projector) works. What's the issue?

Flash :: Professional - New Version Of Player Doesn't Work
Mar 15, 2011I am having the same problem as a lot of other folks. I have searched through this and other forums and nobody seems to have an answer - at least I can't find one. The set up is this: I tried to view a video - received a message that I need to download the latest version of Flash Player - did so and everything seemed normal - tried the video again and got the same message. I have tried everything suggested on the official Flash Support page as well as this and several other forums and nothing changes.
I haven't seed this tidbit in other threads and it is probably worth noting that when I go to the page on the Adobe site where you can check which version is installed - it says no version is installed even though it apears normally in the Programs and Features window and can be removed from there. Off-the-shelf version of Windows 7 Home Premium , 32 bit running on an HP Pavillion Notebook. No problems with Flash Player unitl 3 days ago.
Professional :: Flash File Reverting To Previous Version
Jun 13, 2011I am working on a flash file which i am hopeing to use for a project. I seem to be having a problem with the software. Everytime i make changes to the file and press CTRL + Return to test the moive, it comes up with errors. When i click on the errors to take me to the line of code with the error, it seems to be displaying code from a previous version of the same file which i deleted. When i delete the code and layers agin and then rewrtie the new code and add the new layers again Flash seems to stop responding for like 15 minutes. Once it does respond, i save the file and reopen it everthing seems fine but as soon as i press CTRL + Return the exact same thing happens.

Jul 12, 2010Operating System - Windows 7, 64 bit Web Browsers - Mozilla Firefox, Version 3.6.6 Microsoft Internet Explorer, 32 bit, Version 8.0 Flash Player Version 10.1 For some reason, the new version of Skype is playing havoc with my Flash Player plugins for both Firefox and Internet Explorer.
I downloaded and installed the latest Skype software today and noticed immediate problems. Skype was not responding and the Flash Player plugins on both browsers began crashing. I uninstalled both Skype and the Flash Player plugins. I then restarted my computer and reinstalled the Flash plugins. Functionality was restored to the Flash plugins in my browsers. I then reinstalled Skype. It was immediately non-functional and my Flash plugins started crashing again.I am now at the point where I have reinstalled the Flash plugins again and functionality is restored. I know if I try to install Skype, the Flash plugins will crash again.

Aug 26, 2010Let me preface this by saying: This is definitely a bug either with latest Adobe Flash Player or the streaming Media Server (in this case Real Helix):In the latest version of the Flash player (10.1.82.76) Code that worked previously in version 10.1.53.64 does not work now. This is basic code to connect to an RTMP server (Real Helix) using Netstream class. NOW the video does not even display and there is no error message . THIS ONLY OCCURS in a BROWSER . Also I am using swfobject to display the flash and I tried with latest version and the old 1.4.1 version.
