I got an error when i tried to run the application as Flex Builder cannot locate the require version of flash player and saying you might need to install flash player 9.
I am using Flex Builder 3 with SDK 3.2 and having latest flash player of version 11.1.162
Even having latest version of flash player why i could not able to run the application?
I identify my current installed debug version? Basically, I am using Flex 3, for past 2-3 days whenever I launch any Project or debug it, I get the message box saying "Flex Builder requires a more recent version of Flash Player." It says my curent FP as 9.0.115.0 and debug version as 9.0.45.0. However, my actual FP version if FP 10.0.22.87. I don't understand why this confussion! I don't know how can I know my actual version of Debug player.

I've installed the debugger version of the Flash Player. Didn't work. I've reinstalled Flash Builder. Didn't work. I tried using Safari instead of Firefox. Didn't work.
When I go to Macintosh HD/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ in the finder, I can see Flash Player.plugin right there. But when I go to Username/Library/Internet Plug-Ins the entire folder is blank. So I tried copying Flash Player.plugin to the latter folder. Didn't work.
Mac questions (I'm new to mac): Which of these is really the root? Is it normal that there should be duplicate directories like this, with non-duplicate contents??
In FB I opened Windows --> preferences --> Flash Builder --> Profiler --> Player/Browser and browsed to /Applications/Adobe Flash CS5/Players/Debug/Flash Player Debugger.app

View 6 RepliesRecently, when I tried to show the results of my work (some Flex app) to my boss, i was quite suprised that application which run perfectly well on my pc, on my boss' pc wasn't displayed properly (the only thing visible was a default grey background). After 3h of trying absolutely everything, finally the app showed up when I changed his Flash Player version from standard one to debug (both was v. 10.0.22.87). Does anyone know what can be the reason of this (any compiler flag or sth). Forcing my boss to installing debug FP was quite ok, but forcing final user of the app to do so is unacceptable.
PS: By showing I mean deploying to Tomcat on my pc and giving my boss a link to the app. We both use Win XP. Also when I installed debug FP for Netscape browsers and standard FP for IE (on my pc) the result is the same - working in Firefox, Opera, Chrome and grey background in IE. I've compiled both as a Debug and as a Release. I'm using Flash Develop 3.0.2 RTM After stripping my app to sth like this - it still works only in debug FP

I have Flex builder 3 already installed on my machine. Now, I want to use Flex builder 4 also (officially Flash BUilder 4) on same machine. Can I directly start with Flex builder 4 and import my Flex BUilder 3 project there w/o any loss ? If not then, do I need to first uninstall my current version (3) or can I keep both the builder versions simultaneously ? Also, are there any pre known concerns with the migration ? Will it improve/degrade the performance (My system has XP professional, Intel core 2 Duo, 2 GB RAM ).

It appears now that this has broken Flash in my browsers or at least the browsers have no idea where flash is located on my machine. When I open a browser and navigate to a Flash page I get the message,

This is from Google chrome but FF is also effected.
The Windows version of Flash Builder can be used to create iOS apps.
Does this violate Apple's TOS? Is there any way for them to tell that I used Windows to create my app?
Is it at all possible to connect the Flash Player debug version to the debugger in Flex Builder using source code? I'm running an app which has no right click menu, and I therefore can't right click and select connect to debugger.
View 3 RepliesI just finished my installation of Adobe Flash Builder 4. I've definitely installed the most recent flash player from Adobe's website onto my computer. Also, in the run configurations of flash builder 4, I changed the source path from the .html file to the .swf file that is generated. I don't need to test it in a web browser, I just want to run the swf in flash player.
I only have 1 .as file in my actionscript project and there is no code written in it other than the package, class and main function statements. When I run the .html file, it runs fine, and debugs fine. However, when I switch the source path to the .swf file, it runs fine but doesn't debug!
When I debug it, the progress gets stuck at 57% and it says "Waiting for Adobe Flash Player to connect to debugger..." in the "Progress" tab. After a few minutes a window pops up that says:
"Failed to connect. The session has timed out. Ensure that you have run the application with debugging on and that I have the debugger version of flash player."
What can I do to fix this? I am on an intel Mac running OS 10.6.5.
I am new to creating Flex applications and trying to target Flash Player 10.2 with my first. I have created it using Flash Builder 4.6 and compiled using the 4.5a SDK. I've also set the option to target 10.2.0 in the the Adobe Flash Player options. View 3 RepliesI installed Flash CS4 a couple of days ago. Trying it out for the first time today. I went to import a video & got a message: "The required version of Adobe Media Encoder is not installed or the installation is damaged. Please reinstall."
I'm showing a Media Encoder CS4 folder under my Adobe folder, so I assume I've got the latest version installed, but it's a corrupt installation & I need to reinstall. My question is: do I need to redo the whole Flash CS4 installation? The reason I ask is that our IT provided me with multiple files for the install - there's ADBEFLPRCS4Win_LS1.exe. That's for the main install. But there's also a ADOBEFLPRCS4Win_Cont_LS1.exe. That's the added content file. I don't want to uninstall/reinstall Flash if I don't have to. Does anybody know if Media Encoder installs from the main Flash installation file, or from the added content installation file?

I would like to find out if there is a way for a message to pop up on my website if the user has Flash Player version lower than 10.1. If the version 10.1 or higher (in the future) no message should come up. The message should prompt a user to update to the Flash Player version 10.1. My entire site is in Flash and I am using AS3. So I am guessing I should implement an AS3 code on the first frame of the script layer. Does anyone know what would be this code?
