Flash :: Professional - CS5 Crashes When Try And Open A .FLA File
Jun 9, 2010
I have been working on a flash website for a few days now and I cant open the file any more. When I try and open the file, Flash Professional cs5 Crashes with this error:
[Code]...
System: Windows 7 Ultimate (x64) If you want me to send you the file I can also do that...
I've got a 9MB fla file that suddenly doesn't open any more. When I try to open it, it crashes Flash. When I try to open it as a library, it crashes Flash. Someone told me a library object might be corrupted - not good, irreparable. I'm on a Mac and when I try opening the fla file it gives me an "error type 2 occurred." I imported the swf file into a new Flash file, but now it's just a one-layer straight-streaming movie with every frame a completely new, redrawn keyframe. Is there any way to resurrect the original fla file? I've got a Sunday deadline?
I am just starting to learn how to use flash. I have made four diffrent fla files, but one of them is not working. Flash crashes when i try to open it, it worked last night. Is there any way to repair it or find out what i have done wrong. Dont want it to hapen again. There is no problem to run the swf file. I have uppdated flash to the latest version 10.0.2.
Flash crashes when I try to open any Movie Clip with a text field. This happens with both CS 5 and CS5.5. I am on a Mac Running 10.6.8. The files in question began as a CS4 about a year ago and have been converted to CS5 and CS55 since.
This problem happens sometime but not always, but it has definitely gotten worse with the latest Flash Pro update. (Flash Pro CS5.5 v. 11.5.1.349)This appears to be related to Mac only. I have reprouced on two other Macs, but have not been able to on a PC. (all running CS 5 or CS 5.5)We have a Javascript that goes through the FLA and embeds the fonts in all text fields. (Because font embedding in CS5 or CS5.5 infamously does not work at all). Sometimes if you run this script before you try to open the MC it will apparently fix the problem and let you in, sometimes it will not.
I use Hikari a C++ library which allow to display flash control in a texture for the Ogre 3D Engine. I have a flash control which play a sound (.mp3) when I set a param (param = 0 with arg = 1022). The string I sent to raw_CallFunction() is: "<invoke name="SetParam" returntype="xml"><arguments><string>0</string><string>1022.000000</st ring></arguments></invoke>"
It works very well. But when I close the application, it crashes, even if the sound of the .mp3 is finished. It crashes only is an .mp3 sound have been played (all other setparams and getparams do not crash the application). I have the same problem with different flashes, and with different sounds. I don't think the source of the problem come from the Hikari library, but I think it come from the way i close the flash control. Is there something to do when I close the application after having played an mp3 in a flash control? A function to call?
Description: Flash "Adobe Flash CS5 has stopped working, Windows is checking for a solution to the problem..."Files that Windows decided were important: [code]....
"Adobe Flash CS5 has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." This only happens when I open this specific fla file. I've attached it to this message, (download it here: http:[url].... (I didn't know which file to send so I sent all three that seemed to be related))
I'm trying to open a URL in Safari. It works fine for websites without Flash embedded, but crashes Safari for Flash sites.
Example (this WORKS):
tell application "Safari" to open location [URL]
This CRASHES when Safari is not already running:
tell application "Safari" to open location [URL]
Two things I noticed:
Safari only crashes for websites with embedded Flash The script above only crashes if a new instance of Safari is created (i.e. Safari was not running before)
From the second observation I assume that it could be a permission issue of some sort. Maybe the Safari instance launched from the AppleScript has a problem loading plugins?
My CS5 flash crashed when I changed the name of the root folder while it was open. Swf is working fine, but .fla file wont open, I get a "Failed to open document" message. This is a disaser because I've lost two days of work. Is there anything that could be done to fix this problem?
I encounter a big issue. When creating a new AS3 Flash file, or opening an existing one, Flash CS4 crashes(see crash report below)I can however create a new AS2 file.I reinstalled Flash, and installed latest update, and problem still occursIs it possible that a corrupted file screwed up Flash CS4 installation ?

I have been working on a project for a week and suddenly it crashed during save (nothing strange had been imported or anything i just saved after moving content around) and now i cant open my file again. I contacted adobe support who claim that since the problem is related to the file this is not their problem, what a load of HORSE ****, who should i contact about this dell if its an FLA FILE!? I have already renamed the file to flash.zip then opened with WinRar and repaired as a new zip file to a different folder (which removes the corrupt content which is document something.xml) then i tried renaming this folder back to flash.fla however the file still does not open.
I have a strange dilemn and the 3D feature in Flash CS4 seem to be the most obvious connection to the problem. I have a page with 2 different swf files ( both under 50KB), which use the satay method. One works perfectly, and the other struggles to work. The pixels are magnified, the 3D animation scales incorrectly, and moves very slowly. Eventually the browser crashes and the whole operation goes down.
I think I know the answer to this, but. Is there any way I can open a CS5 file in CS4? A designer I'm working with created some files using her CS5. She's on vacation for 2 weeks (so I can't have her edit or resend the files as CS4) and I just got an email that the client needs a couple tweeks and all I have is CS4. Is there any way (or any program) that can backwards convert a CS5 file?
I just taught myself Adobe Flash and created a very intricate file with lots of moving parts. I saved it and then went to improve it. Of course it was taking forever so I got up from the computer to let it do its thing and I accidently knocked out my external harddrive. A lil freaked out I exited out of adobe flash- plugged it back in and went to open my file. However, it wont open now! I've saved it a dozen times after I added each new part but I have nothing now! Is there a way to get it to open? The message that comes up simply says failed to open document.
I have a fla file which opens, save and compiles perfectly in Flash CS4 but when I open it in CS5 it crashes Flash with the below error report. I have tried this on multiple machines all resulting in the same error message. I have also tried saving the file in CS4 under a new name, did a compact and save and a magic spell. Neither of which had any effect.
im using Flash CS4 slide presentation to make a education CD. In the end of the slides i want to open a pdf file. How can i do it? Is it a east way to do it? I publish the project as a projector file. I tested to use GetURL but the file wont open. I have the pdf-filein the same folder as the projector exe-file.
I have a webpage that currently display a powerpoint slides. The problem is that other can download the slides which I really dont want.
following issues:I dont want to convert the ppt slides to .swf then convert them to flash but rather let flash open the .ppt directly and display on the webpage.
I have files from a class that I took in 2D animation. There are things that I wanted to fix and finish, but the computers that we did the assignments on were macs. I no longer have access to a mac and my computer at home is a pc but whenever I go to open the file, a pop up tells me that its an unexpected file and will not open.
I have Flash CS3. I have created a flash file. If I click on the SWF file I have no problems opening it It plays. It looks nice I'm the man. However, now when I try to publish it, the HTML file will not work. It says "windows cannot find this file, you have typed the location correctly".I am double clicking directly on the file and not typing anything, in fact I was considering checking on Ebay to see if I could upgrade my PC to have eyes. The feature has worked previously, which leads me to the conclusion that something else has changed. I have tried using the publish setting, I have also tried using Dreamweaver to embed the file, and have also tried manually inserting the necessary code after seeing some on a website.
I have a flash file on the homepage of my client's website. When you click "Enter", the new page opens in a new tab. I want it all to stay in the same tab. If you would like to view the entire code yourself to identify how I could solve this issue, the site is: [URL]- but if not then I will paste the code of the flash object below:
I've been running flash CS4 without error for a few months now, recently though whenever I close it I can't open it back up or I get this error:"The application Adobe Flash CS4 has unexpectedly quit.A crash report has been generated. To provide us with the best chance of fixing this problem, please select Continue to add a detailed description that includes the steps required to reproduce the crash.Recently I've been creating panel extensions and commands but deleting them from the directories to stop them loading didn't make any difference so i doubt it's that
flash cs4 launches fine but crashes when starting a new action script 3 doc. (quits unexpectedly) it seems to work fine when i log on as a guest user but not as myself (admin). MACPRO desktop OS10.6.2 what can i try to aleavate this problem.
I have Adobe CS5 Master Collection trial installed on Windows XP Pro Service Pack 3, 32bit operating system.Every time I try to exit Flash CS5, no matter how (File/Exit, ALT+F4...) it crashes and won't close the window. While I work in Flash, open and close documents it works fine.
I'm well & tired of the volume of crashes from Flash CS5. Some are more predictable, like now every time I try to import an FLV it's crashing, so I'll try repairing permissions, and rebooting the computer. Some are more random, like I'm moving something in the Library and it'll just crash out. It's really a terrible experience working in the Flash IDE. I love Actionscript 3, and the Flash Player seems pretty stable. But my God, what do you do when Flash starts bugging out?
Everytime I attempt to import anything into Flash CS4 the application crashes. This happens when I try to import a single 14.0 KB file.I have tried to run in compatability mode but it crashes there too. I am currently running Windows XP SP3 and Adobe Flash CS4 version 10.0.2. I have tried to import them into an existing document as well as into a new document with the same issues. The import screen never pops up, there is a quick flash over the application screen and then the "The application Adobe Flash CS has unexpectedly quit" window appears.I need to do this multiple times through out the day to updates sites, and I am at a standstill until I can get this fixed.I know this happens alot and I hope there is somethign other than reinstalling to get it working again.
I've been working with Flash CS5 for the last few months, using it for animation, on an iMac 2.0Ghz, 1GB RAM, Mac OS 10.6; Once the files start becoming heavy Flash starts acting up, crashing frequently, freezing up, and takes too long to save (almost a minute or more!) I've been told that Adobe products aren't working 100% with Snow Leopard; is this normal? i have all the updates, both from Apple and Adobe; Is there any kind of bug fix, any of the sort that I can download?
I am using flash for the first time and have been trying to open a new flash file: action script 3 but haven't been successful cause the program immediately crashes. Attachments: Error report.docx (84.1 K)

Every time I try paste an image from anywhere in the flash file (all scenes) it crashes. I also cannot export to .swf.I tried saving the file with different names in different locations and did not work.I also have no corrupt font (tried looking for them after I read it in a forum)I really need a solution or find where the problem is to be able to continue what ive been working on.
