I have created a video with a control bar in Flash 8. When I run the .swf file by itself (in Flash player or IE) the control bar is there but when I add it to my web page the control bar is missing.

This all works fine except if the user deletes all the text they have entered and then starts typing again then the formatting is lost.[code]To setup the initial formatting then similar code to apply the formatting when the user changes it.So how can I stop the user from 'deleting' the formatting if they delete all the text?

When the website is opened as[URL] the functionality of the swf does not work i.e. the links contained within the buttons aren't executed on click. However, if you enter the address as h[URL] the links work exactly as they should. View 1 RepliesI'm trying to watch a flash video in fullscreen mode on a second monitor but whenever I click anything that causes the flash video to lose focus the video minimizes and goes to it's normal size. Is there a fix for this? or at least a way to zoom in on the video so its nearly fullscreen? neither IE8 or firefox 3's zoom functions will zoom in on flash.
View 2 RepliesHow does one edit a graphic then have the ability to choose in properties Colour Effect options like alpha or brightness or tint in properties ?
Bringing an .ai file into library then creating a MovieClip of it, I am able to alter colour alpha or brightness or tint etc in properties via Colour Effect option. Use break apart to delete a simple box from part of the artwork and the colour aspects just applied vanish, its back to its original aspect. Try grouping the artwork but still no options now. Same applies if I just place the graphic on stage or open the graphic from the Library.
Try it a different way, bring it in and break apart, then edit the artwork then group it to see if properties has colour effect option for it but still no joy. Try converting it to graphic after editing and giving it a new name, it vanishes, nothing visible even if I select that graphic in library.
It seems that the only way to apply Colour Effect in properties for a graphic or MovieClip is to NOT edit its contents when placed on stage. I cannot bring it in without needing to edit it as the program making the ai. adds a box that I dont need, border of the page in that program in fact.

lately i've associated a class file (.as) to my movie and immediately after, when publishing the movie i got the following error message: 1046: Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant: URLRequest. as well as a couple of other related error messages: 1180: Call to a possibly undefined method URLRequest. 1180: Call to a possibly undefined method navigateToURL. when i remove the link to the class file, the problem goes away. also, i have checked the class file for mentioning of "URLRequest" and nothing is there.

View 2 RepliesVB6 developers who have gone in to do maintenance on their applications that call flash.ocx are finding that they can no longer save their projects because of some change that was introduced by Adobe in the release following flash10e.ocx.ork around is given of uninstalling flash and installing any version on or before 100452. Because the applications still run fine until the developer tries to make a change and save the VB6 project, the scope of this problem has probably not been fully realized. For this reason, this issue will likely only gain momentum in the future.
I spent the morning contacting several people at Adobe and I discovered the only way apparently to get support for this issue is to open a "web case". From further research, what I understand a "web case" costs around $200 and with that price there is nothing telling me what comes with a "web case" I mean, if I were to buy one, would the problem be fixed or would they research it and say "I am very sorry but we are not going to fix that". If there is a guarantee that the problem will be fixed, then can Adobe establish a pool where the $200 cost can be shared by everyone who has the issue? That couldn't be more than a buck or two each because if you google this problem "System Error &H80004005 using flash.ocx" you will find about 5 pages of people reporting the problem
I know the title may be funny for you but I am actually facing it. My page has a checkbox and textbox. I have a flash control (not developed by and so I don't have it's code) and a button inside that control. When the button is clicked inside flash control it causes redirection(or may be postback) to the same page but the values typed the user in textbox and checkbox are no longer available. They are lost! How can I handle this stuff? I am pulling my hair apart. I don't even the source code of that control

I get this error "ActiveX control for Flash Player could not be registered" anytime i tru to install flash. I can see flash content in every browser except internet explorer 9 so I don;t know what to make of this. I have tried everything to now avail. There are a few programs that won;t work and always prompt me to install flash. When I do I get the same error. The fact that this error can;t be fixed is amazing to me. I am asking has anyone got any idea on how to fix this problem minus the usual links that Adobe has, none of their remedies work. I am using windows 7 64 bit.

The website need to login to perform certain task. We use stock Auth component to do the job.
Everything is fine until it hits an interface which build in Flash. Talking to Amf seems fine. But when the Flash player try to talk to other controller - got redirect because the session in not presented.
So basically when a user login - I need to somehow find a way to login the Flash player in as well.
ADDITION: This only solve half of the problem.
Backtrack a little bit. How the Auth components evaluate the requester?
If the Session.checkAgent is true. They check if its the last one. So Flash has no chance they have a different Agent string.
OK now - Auth check them out - what? The Session cookie they store earlier ... so fail again.
I am using Amf (as Cakephp Plugins) when I tried to test if the $this->params['actions'] is start with amf - it works sometime doesn't work sometime. Looking at "Charles" I can see they all call to the amf controller.

The pictures (.png or .bmp) looks fine when they viewed in "Windows Picture & Fax Viewer" but when I imported it to Flash CS4, It lost their quality and doesn't look attractive.

View 1 RepliesI need to make a XML Driven Photo slide in Flash CS5.It needs to have a Box that contains 5 Thumbnails(by XML) act as buttons.The Box sits on top of the Main photo area and shrinks (or close out) when user click its close button. And it opens out by clicking on a open button.I'm sure it can be done by using timeline, Tweening or you name it..But what about the Thumbnails that run from the XML file?Can they disappear with the Box and retrieve when it opens?[code]
