Is there a way to set up a background image (repeating or non-repeating) that the stage area floats over. When I use file > publish settings > HTML > publish - It creates the HTML document but any area outside the stage is colored with the default stage color- Can this be set up in Flash or changed in HTML?

I have search for a way to display, for example, Adobe Home Page in Safari and be able to see all the menus "on top" and have not found a solution.
I have tried setting wmode to either opaque or transparent but no change.

Otherwise it is working all good, but I'd like it to stay put at the start. Right now it immidiately starts scrolling to right unless I move the mouse on top to stop it. So ye, i need to have it sitting still and only scroll when the mouse is at the edges of the document.
I added an image background 1900 x 1200 in dreamweaver, which will serve as my background image for my web site. I would like to incorporate my .flv or .swf on top of my background image. I have a white stage and my background is non-solid/non-uniform. My flash project will be my whole website, therefore when a browser window is larger than my stage, the stage color (white) shows in the background. Its basically a white border on the left and right. I wish I could continue my background image to cover the whole browser window. What I want to do is: if needed (if the browser window is larger than my stage) continue my background on both sides by taking a copy of my background image, flipping it horizontally, and placing it on both sides of my background. If you can imagine it, this will give a more uniform continuation of the background. I'm guessing actionscript would be the best bet?

I have several transparent product images (.png or .gif) and a patterend background. I import my .png or .gif image and convert it to a symbol. I drag the symbol on my layer but as soon as i add a keyframe, the product image background turns white and loses it's transparency!
View 1 RepliesI have been struggling with this with CS4 and CS5. I am working on an animation with a couple of characters comprised of several pngs I converted to symbols. When one characters symbols overlap another characters the swf file shows the stage color rather than the background image I have placed in the file. I can publish it as an html with the option of playing it windowless transparent and it will remove this problem. But I would like to just be able to play the swf file without this issue.

I've a slider class (SliderUI) and I'm passing slider and track images to that class as sprites.
What I'm trying to do is, passing one more image as sprite and changing its width for doing masking in slider. (It will expand or collapse as you move volume slider)
When I try to change width of sprite, it doesn't show up and I guess sprite is just container and resizing it makes it disappeared.
So how can I resize sprite with its child image (it's loaded by a Loader object by the way)?
I'm building my first Flash website in a 1280x800 px resolution, fixed top-centered layout. I have a 1920x1080 px bitmap set as my background. I did it in 1920x1080 px size, because I want the browser to display it (the background) acording to the user's monitor resolution. The main content though buttons, images, animations, etc - are fixed (1280x800 px centered). So, how do I do this? I've been searching the web, but I only find instructions for liquid layout layouts and such, and I don't want liquid, just the background to adapt to the target monitor size.I use Flash CS5.5 (11.5.0)

I am relatively new to Flash CS3 and i have been learning Action-script 3 over the past week. I have come quite a long way and i have made a site in flash but i just have a question.I have been using an image as my background and i am happy with the way flash automatically scales all the objects in my file but the background image does not scale. Is there a way to do this? I have found out things online which show me how to add auto-resizing to the background but this knocks off the flash auto scaling/resizing for everything else.

I'm wanting to create a moving object that will be exported into a tv commercial. Object has already been created in Adobe Illustrator, and now will be dropped into flash for adding movement. The destination commercial will be created in Sony Vegas, with the settings of (Australian) PAL television (25 fps, 576x720 pixels, lower field first).Thus keeping it simple, I want to set Adobe flash with the same output format, meaning that the canvas will have to be 576x720 pixels at 25 fps. So far this seems to have worked okay.Now I'm wanting to get rid of the canvas colour, just like I have here in this photoshop screen shot.
Judging by the colour palette in Flash Professional, it looks like it can't be done. I've checked "transparent palette" through yahoo and google, and had no results. The adobe documentation only details how to remove a background in Photoshop.
I wonder how you can put a fullsize background image to a website using Flash, similar to how www.zugspitze.de does.I can copy the HTML code but what does the flash document looks like?
View 1 RepliesIt seems that this should be a simple thing but I can't figure it out. I would just like my visitors to see a beautiful, still, jpg image in the space where my flash movie is loading...until it is fully loaded. I tried putting a background image in the cell (using Dreamweaver MX) but once I import the swf file, I can no longer see what's in the background.
When I select the flash movie in MX it only allows me to select a background color, not an image. I know that I can use a preloader of some sort to let people know there is flash content loading but I would rather use the opportunity to show a professional photo. Do I have to set this up the same way a preloader is set up but with a single frame maybe or is there an easier way.
I have a swf and the background image looks bad in a monitor 1680 x 1050 , it get cutTo define this in flash, I hace to edit my image to this size 1680 x 1050, but in flash How would I define this?. Can it be done in html code?

I want to load an image into the background of my Flex app. However, I am wondering about a few things, and have a few contraints.I want it to be much like the way it's done with CSS. See this example of fullscreen background images with CSS.It is very important that there is no white-space (background colour) showing behind the image, and that the image is not stretched. This would mean some of the image would be cut off. This is absolutly fine. Actually, the first five points in the bulleted list on the linked page above are all exactly what I am after.I am relitivly new to the Flex framework, but have a strong AS3 background. So I can do this easily with actionscript using a mask, stage.width/height, the stages RESIZE event, and a little bit of Math. But I am wondering what would be the "Flex" way of doing this?I don't want to narrow the answers, but would I create my own component, that extends canvas, that I put behind all my other content? Or to I set some property of the application?
View 5 RepliesI am editing a custom calendar application in flash. The purpose of this app is to let you select your own images, and create a calendar out of it. You can basically, drag and drop images of your choice and they apply frame/borders, or drag and drop embellishments.

I need to somehow apply the chosen frame image, to the entire background - not just to the embellishment or image. How do I go about this?
How can I fill my whole background with a big image? The photo is 1400*867 and with the solution here it fills up the width but not the height. I don't care if the photo gets cropped in order to fill up the height too.
The CSS3 way (background-size) is perfect but doesn't work in IE.
If you don't know a way with css/jquery could you direct me to a flash script where I could just enter the path of the image and let flash resize it?
