Jun 22, 2011I've got a strange situation where I'm replacing the text in a string that I've taken from an XML, but the .replace function for the string keeps failing. I've tried running the example given on the Adobe site, so I know the value I'm trying to replace ("%20") isn't at fault - it's something about the string I have! I've included the code below, but it seems correct. Is there a particular tip I should know when taking XML values into AS3? I'm putting them in strings for this project.

Problem is that when people go to a site and they don't have Flash and can't install it (ie: iPhone), they can't see phone numbers, address etc. which is why that came there. It would sure easier to push Flash if there was a way to have an alternate image to view.
Flash And Google Maps - Only Last Icon Showing?
May 20, 2010I have a simple Map and geocoding sample in Flash using CS4.The problem is simple - I can retrieve a short list from the google search api, but when I try to generate the icons on the map using a loop, only the last icon is displayed. (ignore the house icon, it is generated earlier)
I feel I am missing something or made a stupid AS3 mistake (like treating it as if it was c#) - or even a stupid wood-for-the-trees mistake. The problem is in the last line of the code

Jul 28, 2011Months ago I downloaded the iSkysoft Free Video Downloader for Mac OSX from the iSkySoft Free Video for Mac website.
I've fully removed the app, BUT - I've inserted two screen shots to demonstrate what I'm trying to get rid of. I'm stuck with a very annoying "Download" icon that POPS UP TOP LEFT when I mouse-hover on any and all Flash Player content on my Safari browser. I'm on Mac OS10.5.8. This is ONLY happening on my Safari browser. Not on Firefox or Chrome. I've removed all traces of the app. I've been everywhere in my system Library - Application Support - Safari folders - etc, I've looked everywhere. Updating Flash Player makes no difference. Clearing all data in the Flash Player System Preferences interface does not get rid of it. Clearing the entire Safair cache does not get rid of it. Re-installing Safari does not get rid of it. I've tried anything and everything I can think of and I've run out of ideas! Short of wiping my hard drive and re-installing Leopard which I do not want to do, I'm stumped. Every time I hover my mouse over Flash content - I'm STILL stuck with this highly annoying "Download" icon in the top left corner of all Safari Browser Flash content.

Mar 3, 2012I published an app to Air 2.5 (.air) from Adobe Flash CS 5 and afterwards also to Air Android (.apk) Since then I receive this error message if I try to publish as .air again:
Error creating files. Icon file is missing.
I tried to delete and recreate the folder and pathes but the error still appears.

Mar 15, 2012Apple says that a 144x144 application icon is now required for the high-res iPad. But adding an <image144x144> element to the application descriptor file in Flex 4.6 gives an error 103: application.icon.image144x144 is an unexpected element/attribute.Is there a workaround for this? Nov 13, 2011This is very strange.i would like to show in my swf movie all the icons (jpg/png) I've imported as they are. I've set the JPG quality 100%, I've tried the PNG settings without quality lost, I've unchecked the "Allow smooth" setting.
But as soon as the movie have quality=high all the icons are smoothed/breaked and do not looks like the original ones [URL]..Instead, setting quality=low let show the icons as they are![URL]..Of course, I need the movie to be quality=high, since there will be some other stuff on it!

Oct 17, 2008I used to make fullscreen Flash websites, using 100x100 width/height and "No Scale" on Publish Settings.Everything is ok on a browser, since I can position elements using relative coordinates for liquid layouts.Now I have to make a fullscreen standalone .exe projector.To get fullscreen I use fscommand("fullscreen", "true") on the first frame and it works.
The problem is:If I create a 1024x768 Flash movie, even with 100x100 and "No Scale" activated, the movie remains at 1024x768.So, if I trace stage.stageWidth and stage.stageHeight, those remain respectively at "1024" and "768", but I need for the movie to get the max width and max height available on the system.
In the browser it happens automatically, but in the Flash projector it doesn't. how can I get the movie to match the exact size of the screen where it runs?I've tried with Capabilities.screenResolutionX and Y but there is no way (and I think it's normal) to set the stage.width and stage.height properties on runtime.
