Flash :: Html - Unable To Hide A SWF Object Embedded In An Iframe?

On my HTML page, I have <div> with an <iframe>, which references another page, that contains a Flash SWF object. If I set any of these:
display:none;
visibility:hidden;
opacity:0;
filter:alpha(opacity=0);
on the <div> that wraps the <iframe>, the SWF object sometimes remains in plain sight, while the <div>and <iframe> go out of view as expected.

This should work in the latest versions of Safari, Chrome and Firefox on a Mac and in the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer on a Windows 7 machine, and it should fail (no errors but the hiding behavior doesn't occur) in Safari on a Windows 7 machine.
It might be pertinent to note that one thing I've noticed about the SWF objects that have passed and failed are that the ones that have failed all revolve around video content whereas the ones that have passed don't. Granted I haven't tested more than a half-dozen objects, but that's quite a coincidence. :)

I have a flash video player that I would like to embed in other pages, so I created an iframe to do this. It has to be an iframe because it depends on other swf files that get loaded into it (plugins).
The weird thing is the video does not play when loaded inside the iframe, but if I go to the html source and cut and paste the tag outside of the iframe it works.[url]...

I have made a html file in which a swf is embedded with swf object. this swf contain dynamically loaded audio files. It works fine in offline but when it is uploaded it does not show the movie(swf is not playing) I see only empty space. i thought that it may take time to load, but even after waiting for long time the swf did not play and it shows blank white space.

I've embedded a flash object in a form, and anchored it to the 4 borders. And when I resize the window, the flash application resizes too... but it tries to keep its proportions, showing unaesthetic black bars instead of change its width/length proportion.

I am still used to AS2 and this is resulting quite complicated.I am trying to make it so that when the timeline stops, for a website to load within an iframe next to it.I have the .swf on the left and I want to open up content on the right.as an example, I want to open up within the iframe. I would like to place a scrollbar in the HTML page that is in the iFrame. I also would like to remove or hide the original scrollbar from the iFrame (without using the scrolling="no" since this stops scrolling all together). Is any of this possible? Am I able to control HTML scroll with a Flash scrollbar? Will I need to use javascript?
I understand my way around both actionscript, html, CSS, and some javascript....if any of this is a possiblitiy could you at least point me in the right direction? Would this be better if I built .PNGs and created Divs to build the scroll bar on the HTML page?

I've been trying to do as the client requested : redirect to campaign page then to destination page once a customer clicks on the top banner in swf format.If you are using Firefox, Chrome or Safari, I suspect you can reach the destination page.However, if you are using IE or Opera, I doubt it.I think to cause of such a weird problem is:The swf ojbects don't have a link to url, SO I have to hack the theme template file like this :

We've got a green screened video playing in a flash movie over top of our html content.when the movie ends, flash uses external interface .api to call a javascript function which swaps the flash movie out with a 5 x 5 pixel flash movie (rewrites the <div>).this works and you can interact with the html content after the flash movie in all browsers except firefox.anyone know of any work-arounds or is there a better way of handling flash over html in this fashion?

I've made a site where an iframe calls to a top navigation element, with a javascript drop down menu. I have it working where the menu drops over a center flash element, but even when the menu is not "dropped" - any element in that area on the flash does not respond to clicks.
I've changed z indexes, and now i cant seem to get the flash file to even be ontop of the iframe -

I have the following divs and I'm trying to make the iframe layer infront of my_flash. It's a common problem and I've read through all the solutions I could find and still I'm getting issues in IE8. I'm using SWFobject by the way.

I have an iframe to a page where a Flash swf file is running; does anybody have an idea how to make it transparent so that my drop-down menu should be shown perfectly? Kindly be informed I can't edit the source page (add param = wmode, value = transparent to the Flash object), only if there is any chance to make it possible in iframe or some JavaScript on my page, I have already tried allowtransparency="true" and background-color="transparent".

Basically, I have a DIV, which I've set to z-index: 100. I have an iframe which I set to z-index: 0. My 100 div is ontop of the frame on a normal webpage, but I have to load a flash page in the frame. Unfortunately the flash in the frame shows overtop of my 100 DIV. I can't set the z-index of the flash object because I don't control that webpage!

I have a few Flash objects in my html page, and all these Flash objects respond to mouseOver and mouseOut.
On mouseOver, the Flash objects will play a movieclip in place. On MouseEvent.CLICK, I would like the Flash objects to make the html page create a new iFrame with embedded .mov movie file in a lightbox effect.
I can't seem to get it to work. I have tried ExternalInterface.call(), navigatetoURL(), I have tried simulating a click event in javascript. Essentially, I want a mouse-click that is captured in Flash to open a jquery/javascript-lightbox in an iframe.

I'm using swfobject to load a flash object on my site and it's loading very slowly on pages with a lot of data...as if swfobject waits until the page loads before loading the swf. Here's an example page with swfobject: [URL] If I change out the swfobject code with an iframe (with the swf as the src) or just use object embed, the flash object loads much, much faster...before the rest of the page loads.
I know there are a ton of page load time improvements I could make to that page (I'm working on that as well), but I'm wondering if there are some specific changes I could make to the way I'm using swfobject to get the same loading speed as an iframe or object embed?

We are developing our app in flash/flex builder for the front end hitting .NET backend webservices. There is one section of the old app that will not be initially converted, so we need have it appear in an iFrame.
So far all that works fine.We shrink the size of the SWF in the host page to just be the menu/nav area. And underneat that I have an iframe control that loads in this page from the old site.Now the problem. in the SWF is a drop down list to enable picking a client. Since the SWF has been shrunk to about 100px high, the drop-down will only occupy within that 100px area which it's opened. This is NOT good as you can imagine. How can I make the drop-down list descend over-top of the IFRAME control and thus extend outside the SWF dimensions? Is this possible?
I tried to make the internal stage transparent and leave the SWF a little larger, about 400 px high, but the IFRAME still appears behind the SWF.

I have a flash file in a div. This div is set to visible (display:block;). The div has two sister divs. All three divs are controlled by custom built jQuery tabs, so when another tab is clicked, the currently visible div turns display:none;. When the tab is reclicked to set the flashes div to display:block, the flash file loses all its values that are stored (for example in a textarea, all the text gets reset, and where a element stores a path to the image, that gets reset).
I have tried other methods like width:0; height:0;, which sort of works, but as the flash file is larger than the other two divs, it is still visible underneath. So then I tried overflow:hidden; but the same issue still occurs as above (losing values).
visibility:hidden isn't applicable as there is a large white space where the flash file should be.
position:absolute; top:-800px; left:-600px; loses variables.
border: 0; clip: rect(0 0 0 0); height: 1px; margin: -1px; overflow: hidden; padding: 0; position: absolute; width: 1px; also loses variables.
Is there any other method I can use? I have wmode=transparent aswell.

I know this question was asked before, but none of the solutions work properly. How do I render a basic html in flex 4 without an iframe? I saw textarea renders some weird format that would suffice if it would work. For example I wan't to add an image like this

then 1. I press enter 2. I add the image again like above, I get the img tag inserted 10 times or so; which is weird (but not funny at all). All things being equal, html is a much normal approach, is there a basic renderer for flex 4 that works ok?

In the sample above, sometimes all the data in the "Location Origin" will be null, so under the visible property I put a value which is either true or false depending on the data. But even when all the data is null and the visible property equals false, it still stays visible.

the thing i'm searching for my site is something that can show, and after 10 seconds, hide some html.Exactly is for a games site. I want to show ads during 10 seconds, and after this time, load the .SWF file of the game.During 10 seconds i want to show the window of the ad in the center of the field where later the game will be displayed. It's like a 700x500px window.One of the problems is that the ad window maybe 300x200px and i want to put it in the center. I have a situation in AS3 where I am required to embed a font but the .tff font file to be distributed with the software can't be seen by the user for copyright reasons. At the moment I embed the font using metadata in a sub folder of the application and it all works nicely, but I am not sure as how to hide the .tff?
