I am trying to play an FLV file in a flash player but it is not working in IE9 and Chrome. Works in firefox though.url...Theres 2 videos in the above linked page. One uses a simple flash player while the other uses JW player.Both give a "video not found" error in IE9 and Chrome. Both work in Firefox 5 though.(the link to the flv file is given as text on the page)

only chrome is not supporting copying(Ctrl + c), although selecting all(Ctrl + A ) is working.
I want to play a external SWF file (which is in server) in client side. It is working when I run through flash, but when double click on .swf it shows a dialog box:

So what settings do we need to change to play the swf file?

View 1 RepliesI have a strange issue where Flash Player in Chrome is not updating unless the browser is resized. The app is an online design tool, written in Flex, and one of the features allows the user to upload an image and crop it. The image loads fine, and the crop action does not reload the image but uses Bitmap.copyPixels to create the cropped version.When I test on localhost (though a local server not just straight from the file system) the issue does not happen. However on our QA server the image does not appear unless you resize the browser, when I suppose a screen refresh is forced.I've tried all the usual suspects in AS3/Flex to force a redraw, updateAfterEvent, invalidateDisplayList, etc.we came up with is to resize the browser by a pixel, but this is obviously not ideal and I'd prefer a solution to a work-around.Here's the Bitmap code for reference...

If you set a .swf with wmode transparent mode and register the Event.RESIZE in it. It will not work correctly in Chrome and will ultimately crash the Flash Player. Of course same thing in FF, EI or any other browser works like a charm. Setting wmode to window fixes the problem but anyone knows a work around with wmode set to transparent?
View 0 RepliesI need to play a FLV file on a web page, but I don't want it playing in a visible player. That is I don't want there to be the usual Play button and no frame. I want it to work and look much like this link: [URL]. It is similar to those infamous "Mac vs PC" videos which occasionally play on the home page of [URL]. My flash ability in this area is limited. (I'm a Joomla pro but not a flash pro.) Looking at the source code, I see various swf controller file links, and some javascript, I think.
I have no idea what is in the swf files that may or may not be making it all work. First of all I don't even know if it is possible for a FLV file to play above html and then disappear revealing the html when it is finished playing. I assume with the swf and javascript and divs this is possible, but am not sure.Ideally I would love the complete code if possible. Or links to where I can find out how to do it.
I want to make my flash file to play on my dvd player. It has some scripted buttons on it, so it is important that this works, is it even possible to make a swf into a DVD format and then play it with scripted buttons?

In development, I had to navigate to Adobe's flash player security page and designate my development folder as a 'safe' location. In deployment, I do not have the ability to do this. i have a button that when it is pressed plays and loads an external flv file. this part works fine but directly after the flv video is finnished i want to load in an swf file. does some one have an idea how to do this? first show flv and then load swf?

I am fairly new to Flash and working with MX 2004 with Flash 2. I have tried several methods to play an external .FLV file. Some ideas from this forum and some from the Flash help system. Either I don't understand them and/or I am not implementing them correctly but nothing has worked. I have read of an FLVPlayback component and my system has a MediaPlayback component in the Component window. I have also seen yards of actionscript to play such files. Can anyone supply me with a basic/simple method, with code/example or buttons-to-push if necessary, to have an .SWF play an external .FLV via my MX 2004 system?
View 3 RepliesI am using an external preloader (loader.swf) to load the movie (ayproj.swf). The preloader works fine when running the .swf file in flash player and when simulating a download in flash cs5 but when i upload it to the internet and open the index.html in which the flash is in a 100% frame it either sticks on 100% (Ff and IE) or just says "pl" (chrome) - the initial text in the dynamic percentage text box.

I am trying to play the .mp3 file called "Music_File_2.mp3" the music file is in a folder called "Sounds" 2buttons called Play_btn and Stop_btn plays and stops the music. Once the music playing if i click on the play button the music will pause.
Everything works fine when i launch the program though "Flash Player 10". but when i right click and open the .swf file with Internet explorer the whol project works fine, but the sounds would not play.
If been trying to refurbish my website using solely OSMF but, the sound part gives problems in various browsers. It works in IE6 and FireFox but, it doesnt in Chrome and Safari. Does anyone know what is happening and what their differences are when it comes to file loading?[URL]check it for yourself clicking the buttons in various browsers the Flash button uses native flash sound libs the OSMF button the OSMF implementation.

I have created a Flash Demo in AS3. I simply need to use the swf file to demonstrate a workflow. The file plays perfectly on my computer however when I sent it to my team, the content was replaced with 5 moving grey dots.The publish settings are at Flash Player 10. My team all have flash player 10 but no cigar.

View 6 RepliesI'm trying to integrate a JavaScript multiple file uploader into a website. I've worked with Uploadify before and wanted to go with that. The difference in this case was that I needed to allow a large number of files in the upload queue (up to 500).
Everything works fine in Firefox, IE6-9 and Safari. Except for Chrome, where when selecting more than 232 files at once (using the Flash file select dialog) it doesn't do anything (the file select event is not triggered for the JS script to capture).
At first I thought it was an Uploadify bug, and decided to try Plupload as an alternative. Problem is that I hit the same dead end with the Flash version of Plupload, it just won't do anything when selecting more than 232 files at once.
Is this a known Flash Player limitation/bug in Chrome?
I just downloaded the latest version of google chrome and my html page with flash inside is not appearing in chrome.I am using an authoring tool called outstart trainer. The pages work well in IE and Firefox but does not work in google chrome.

So I need to load them all entirely, and have a single button that the user clicks to get them all to play simultaneously.
I am trying to put together a simple game and have been doing really well until I decided I am going to have to create a new class to handle enemies.What I have so far is a player walking around on random terrains and I am up to the point where I have placed x amount of enemies on stage at appropriate times. I have written their class which will hopefully eventually handle their behavior and it outputs simple trace("BOO!").
Where I face the problem is that I obviously would like to make these enemies follow the player to attack. But when I try to access the .x or .y attributes of the player, it throws an error: 'call to a possibly undefined property with static type Class'?I have tried accessing the .x using the following ways (where badger is my player instance and Main is my class definition within the properties of the FLA):

How will this be affected by different TV sizes / ratios, such as widescreen vs. normal? We're planning on publishing the Flash movie as a .mov file and then burning this to a DVD. Does that sound a good idea?

I deployed a website a couple of days ago which is written entirely in Flash. On one of the pages there is a video which plays in the Flash Player. I have noticed that when I leave the video playing and select a button to take me to another page, the other page comes up but the audio keeps playing from the prior page. Worse yet, if I go back to the page with the Flash Player, it now relaods again and there are two audio tracks. Can someone tell me how this code is solved? There must be some Actionscript 3.0, which I'm using, which kills the player whenever you enter a different page?
