I have created what looks like a book in flash.There is a corner turned over at the top right so when you click it the page turns. This is fine, however, what i want to beable to do is when I click it the page turns and goes to a new page. ( i have made all the other pages)I tried an on(release) but it just doesnt go to the page, it plays the movie clip but I cant get it to navigate aswell..
I have this textfield in wich i load some vars when a button is clicked. How can i make a sort of button of the loaded vars? So if i click on the first title; i go to the right txt-file!?
Here's the code so far:
code: //vars instellen //titels var title1:String = "Maan Fotografie"; var title2:String = "Vertigo-/zoomeffect-fotografie";
Got a WordPress site and embedded Flash navigation which is showing fine on the home page in IE, but not translated across to the other pages. All pages show fine in Google Chrome and Firefox, what the issue could be with IE? [URL]
I need help with this navigation it appear to overlap every time I highlight the text from the drop down then move my mouse to the right then up. and that's when it overlap all of the drop down.
I am working on some dress pattern design tutorials. I would like to show patterns and fabric pieces flip over with a page turn type animation. I am looking for a simple method as it involves doing it to a lot of diagrams. I have been looking at After Effects as I know I can 'page turn' objects. This pretty well produces the effect I am looking for but I feel it should be easier in Flash (Shape tweening morphs the diagram and motion tweening doesn't help) or perhaps video in Photoshop. I don't mind what I use.
My patterns are drawn in Illustrator so importing them would be really convenient. Ideally I would like to fill the shapes with a textile pattern and have the reverse showing with a different texture but this is not essential - just getting the diagrams to turn over smoothly would be really nice.
I have even thought of screen recording the process of dragging the corner of the diagram and flipping it over in some way.
I am happy to experiment but if anyone can point me to the best way forward I would be very grateful. There is nothing worse than spending hours/days working on a way to do things only to find there is a preset somewhere that does it for you.
I am into the process of creating a Digital Scrap book(Interactive) with Action script. I have four QT movie files created with After Effects. I simply want to make an Interactive scrap book for the school children so that when they click a button(or even Text) on the Home page, that page turns and plays the corresponding video. Once the video is finished it goes back again to the Home page.
I have made an page-flip thing and now I want to add a script that turn the page in the right direction. Ex.If I reading page 9 and want to jump to 10 then Im playing a "turnpagefromtheright"- movie clip. But if I reading page 10 and want to go to page 7 then I want the movie to play a "turnpagefromtheleft"- movie clip.
So I need to compare the current page number with the page number Im going to and if that number is less than the current number I play 1 Mc and if its higher it plays another Mc.
So this is what I want but I dont know how to code it... since Im not as good as you are..
I have a pop up page with a swf file that will call a second swf file: var myLoader:Loader = new Loader(); addChild(myLoader); var url:URLRequest= new URLRequest("File2.swf"); myLoader.load(url);But the sound keeps playing even after the popup page closed.I did some research, got this code, but don't know how to implement it into the codes above:
I want to create a page turn effect in Flash, but not just simply that... I want the user to be able to search the text, links to be active... Am I better off just using Flash Paper?
I am loading in .swfs, that were exported from InDesign, using the page turn effect, into another swf that contains navigation. Would anyone know how I can make calls into the loaded swfs to trigger them to go to the next page, or report back how many pages the swfs contain? I can't seem to find any documentation on this?
Maybe you know how do easy turn page. Picture will be load into swf files and with turn page effect they change when some time will pass (sorry for my english)
I have successfully added a Google Map Flash API using AS3 to page turning software that I use but the issue is when I upload it to the server online the Google Map stops all other swf files from working within the book when I turn a page. The map works fine online but removes two pages either side of where the map is placed. Anybody know why this is happening and any solution on how to get it working? Everything within the page turning software works fine when I test it locally so the issue is online somewhere. Maybe I could use something that stops the map from working when the page is changed?
I am trying to make a simple Paper page curl effect in Flash. It is animated, but does not need to be draggable. I am NOT looking for a digital magazine type draggable page turn. Just an animated one. I tried using the 3D component in Flash, but got a vey stiff result. I couldn't get the animation to bend, or warp the page. So it looked very flat and stiff. I would like a fairly natural page flip. Something that bends as it turns. There is a plugin in After Effects calle "Page Curl" and that is the basic effect I am looking for, but am trying to recreate it in Flash.
i have an swf file to cause a page curl when i click a different link in my site, but as of now it is a blank curl over the page i navigate to. i want to make the current page curl revealing the 1 i am navigating to. how would i go about this?
From this example image attached, I have created many instances on my stage, let's say that for each instance I would like to go to a new section that has a different layout. What is the action script that will move my frame to the right location for example, let's say on one of the instance I have a button that says contact. On one of the buttons, what action script to I have to put in so that it navigates there when someone press it, I would think "on press" go to instance tab contact something of that nature.
I have a Flash MX navigation on an html page and I want to set up the buttons so that onRelease they will go to named sections on that html page; Thru the use of the <A NAME></A> <A HREF></A> tags.
I want to highlight the current page in my navigation.
I have the code below (duplicated for each button on the page) which changes the colour of the text in the nav when you rollover and then back when you rollout. I'd like to have the text stay on the rollover colour if it is the current page.
I've been messing around with variables and have added the bit onto the onRelease function which displays the "page" variable in a dynamic text box. This works fine, but I'm now stuck on how to use this variable, everything I've tried hasn't worked.
I can understand the principle of what I want to do as I can do it in PHP or CSS. I need some kind of conditional statement, for example (in laymans terms):
if page equals 1 then make text colour red or if page equals 2 then make text colour red and so on...
Code: var up = "0xC5B9B3"; var over = "0xC6006F"; _root.nav.button_1.onRollOut = function() {
for flash 8 I have created a nice flash site to show some portfolio work. I have all the thumbnails in place but I wanted them to open a new HTML window in the size of the portfolio piece. How is this done and will it be blocked by popup blockers. edit: the html page i want to link to is in the same folder as the flash site.
I am working on a project that I need to create a flash navigation bar for a html site. There will be a drop down menu when you rollover the buttons on the nav bar, which means the drop down menu will be overlaying on top of the html pages. I saw websites were done like this before, but I personally don't know how to do it.
I am using the following code for my Navigation in a FLash CS4 file:
stop (); function buttons(event:MouseEvent):void{ gotoAndStop(event.target.name); } home.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,buttons); services.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,buttons); about.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,buttons); contact.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,buttons);
It works great when I am on the home page, but stops working once I navigate to any of the other pages. I have an Actions layer and that layer extends the full length of all pages/frames of the timeline.
I have the frames labeled as such: home, services, about, and contact. (All are "Type:Name")
each button is named as such: home/ instance of "home", services/instance of "services", etc.
I made a thumbnails slide, works great, but here the questions. I need the thumbnails to navigation on my home page .. ( go the next page 1.2.3 etc.) Script code on the thumbnails: on(release){ photosMC.gotoAndPlay("img2h") }
I have 2 versions of the same code, both to make 3 simple buttons work to move the timeline to a keyframe to change the page for user navigation. What is the difference? Is one way better than the other?
HTML Code: stop(); var button1:SimpleButton; var button2:SimpleButton; var button3:SimpleButton; function handleCLICK( pEvent:MouseEvent):void { [Code] .....
i have a flash banner with navigation and want the flash to keep track of what page the user is on in order to give the user some kind of indication of where they are.ALSO i want the banner to animate / do some stuff ONLY on first visit to the site, i.e. if they navigate away from the site or close their browser window i want some kind of variable to reset so it will replay the animation on next visit.
