Would anyone know how I can make calls into the loaded swfs to trigger them to go to the next page, or report back how many pages the swfs contain? I can't seem to find any documentation on this?
View 7 RepliesI am trying to make a simple Paper page curl effect in Flash. It is animated, but does not need to be draggable. I am NOT looking for a digital magazine type draggable page turn. Just an animated one. I tried using the 3D component in Flash, but got a vey stiff result. I couldn't get the animation to bend, or warp the page. So it looked very flat and stiff. I would like a fairly natural page flip. Something that bends as it turns. There is a plugin in After Effects calle "Page Curl" and that is the basic effect I am looking for, but am trying to recreate it in Flash.
View 1 RepliesI have successfully added a Google Map Flash API using AS3 to page turning software that I use but the issue is when I upload it to the server online the Google Map stops all other swf files from working within the book when I turn a page. The map works fine online but removes two pages either side of where the map is placed. Anybody know why this is happening and any solution on how to get it working? Everything within the page turning software works fine when I test it locally so the issue is online somewhere. Maybe I could use something that stops the map from working when the page is changed?

When loading it onto a certian "level" it works fine However, when using load movie in the past I have loaded separate .swf files into movie clip symbols on the main time line which greatly helps when trying to position the movies I am loading in.
I am trying to load in my pictures files in the same way (into movie clip symbol on the timeline) however it doesn't seem to be working. Is is possible to load in external picture files in this way?
Have a flash picture slide show that fades in and out to transition from picture to picture. Would like to use a shared object so that when someone goes to the next page it will load on the picture it left of at. Should the shared object load at the last state or should it save the frame position? The movie has so many pictures that people will only see the first couple pictures every single time they change pages and never get to the end of the movie. This was made in Flash CS5

Is the a script out there that can load a web page only time when the button is click. I don't want the page to reload when the button is continuosly clicked. if the page is already open and they click on the same button, i don't want the page to reload since it is already open.
View 1 RepliesI can't figure out why this wont work consistently. I have a few containers in a column that load small swf files on run time. My code which always works in the past, looks like this:

The issue is that sometimes, this works perfectly. I load the page and the files load. Then, randomly other times, only parts of the external swfs load. All of the external swfs have static text on one layer, then a rollover movieclip on the others. The times when it doesn't work correctly, usually the text loads, but the movieclips don't. I don't understand why this isn't working, but I need it to 100% of the time.

View 6 RepliesI have two external swf files which I need to load to the main page of the website, one is the about page which consist mostly of text, the other is an image gallery.Both of them have the same intro animation at the beginning.
My problem is, while testing the main page using bandwidth profiler, the about page loads beautifully, while the image gallery plays its animation first before it even finalizes to load the whole page.
Is there way to get the browser to always load any swf files before everything else on a page (exept the external css and swfobject.js). Using Firebug's Net statistics I can see the swf files generally load last.
We have all our external js files inserted at the bottom of the page to help loading times.
I have some text I've converted to a movie clip and want to have it gradually change from one color to another when the page loads. Can I do that in actionscript 3?

I have created what looks like a book in flash.There is a corner turned over at the top right so when you click it the page turns. This is fine, however, what i want to beable to do is when I click it the page turns and goes to a new page. ( i have made all the other pages)I tried an on(release) but it just doesnt go to the page, it plays the movie clip but I cant get it to navigate aswell..
View 14 RepliesI am working on some dress pattern design tutorials. I would like to show patterns and fabric pieces flip over with a page turn type animation. I am looking for a simple method as it involves doing it to a lot of diagrams. I have been looking at After Effects as I know I can 'page turn' objects. This pretty well produces the effect I am looking for but I feel it should be easier in Flash (Shape tweening morphs the diagram and motion tweening doesn't help) or perhaps video in Photoshop. I don't mind what I use.
My patterns are drawn in Illustrator so importing them would be really convenient. Ideally I would like to fill the shapes with a textile pattern and have the reverse showing with a different texture but this is not essential - just getting the diagrams to turn over smoothly would be really nice.
I have even thought of screen recording the process of dragging the corner of the diagram and flipping it over in some way.
I am happy to experiment but if anyone can point me to the best way forward I would be very grateful. There is nothing worse than spending hours/days working on a way to do things only to find there is a preset somewhere that does it for you.

I simply want to make an Interactive scrap book for the school children so that when they click a button(or even Text) on the Home page, that page turns and plays the corresponding video. Once the video is finished it goes back again to the Home page.

I have made an page-flip thing and now I want to add a script that turn the page in the right direction. Ex.If I reading page 9 and want to jump to 10 then Im playing a "turnpagefromtheright"- movie clip. But if I reading page 10 and want to go to page 7 then I want the movie to play a "turnpagefromtheleft"- movie clip.
So I need to compare the current page number with the page number Im going to and if that number is less than the current number I play 1 Mc and if its higher it plays another Mc.
So this is what I want but I dont know how to code it... since Im not as good as you are..
