View 5 RepliesI am recording FLV videos with Red5 server and playing them back in a Flex app. I am aware that Red5 does not properly inject the FLV MetaData, so I am using an external commandline tool to get the metadata in there.
Because I am injecting the metadata, my duration of the video is correct.
The problem I am having, and this is true with all FLV players I try to play the video with (even 3rd party stand-alone video players), is the PlayHead time is never started at 0. When I load up the FLV to play and lets say the video is 10 seconds long, the current time label on the playhead starts at 1-2seconds instead of 0 and the horizontal slider current time indicator also is moved away from 0 and is set to 1-2 seconds along the slidebar. the video plays back fine from what I can see though.
Is there a byte in the FLV that I need to change so that it will start the playhead at 0? I realize this is probably something to do with Red5, so if anyone has any work-arounds or potential things to watch out for that may be causing this
I have thumbs placed on the stage. I create an empty mc to load swf. But my thumbs disappear from the stage when I test the movie ( html or swf) if I settle the _ and _y position of the empty mc.why the emptymovieclip positions affect the positions of my thumbnails?

All questions are being pulled from an XML file that has hundreds of questions. Keep in mind that the correct answer will not always be in the same spot. I also have it so that one question fades into another after a specific time. Here is the code

I have three movie clips on my stage. Their names in my library are a1_mc, a1_mc2, and a1_mc3. Each of those movie clips on my stage has a different instance name. All of these are connected with an actionscript in the same file.Now, I'd like the movie clips to appear at a random position every time, they are loaded.
I already tried to make a new array and solve this issue with the sort() command. However, that did not work out properly. The positions and instance names of the movie clips on my stage are as follows:

instance name on stage: a1
position on stage: X = 20.0 | Y = 140.0

i use FBML for the FB application.I have a flash and the flash suppose to call a javascript on the page. I read so many websites trying to figure it out but still having problem.Here is the Webpage with the javascript:

when i test, the flash loaded. The code goes through everything and show "SENT" in the flash text box. However, it doesn't seem like it is calling the javascript and change the text in the HTML page.is there something wrong I did? i try the ExternalInteface.call method but doesn't work neither. ALSO, when i run it in FireFox, not error popup.however, when i run it in IE, I got this:

I am stumped. I have tried to load a comboBox with a for-loop to load k school names and can not get it to load dynamically. I have a ComboBox in Flex with about 20 items. How do I display all of them in a dropdown with no scroll bar? Right now, Flex displays 5 at a time in the dropdown and puts a scrollbar to scroll for more.Here's an example:

I have an animated logo swf file that loads and runs once on the home page every time the page loads. The logo has been updated to appear in three different colour schemes. I want one scheme to load and when the page is refreshed or revisited, one of the other colour schemes to load in its place. They can appear in any random order, just a different one to the one that played before reloading.Can someone point me to an answer or tell me how to do it? I have found a way in JavaScript but this only works on plain images, not swf files.

Im working on a website for school, and im doing it through flash. The server ive been given is being taken up by thousands of pages, so its slow. Instead of loading each page through HTML, ive decided i could do a seperate frame for each page. However, to reach the menu at the bottom, you have to scroll down. Is there any way to make it so that when you click a button to load a different page for the flash player to scroll up all the way to the top of the page itself?
