ActionScript 3.0 :: Turn Off Sound Of Swf When Popup Page Closed?
Oct 14, 2010
I have a pop up page with a swf file that will call a second swf file: var myLoader:Loader = new Loader(); addChild(myLoader); var url:URLRequest= new URLRequest("File2.swf"); myLoader.load(url); But the sound keeps playing even after the popup page closed.I did some research, got this code, but don't know how to implement it into the codes above:
This is part of my ongoing issue with 6 video files in six Scenes.I have 6 videos there were imported as enbedded, one in each scene. the first four play but the second two do not.whichever order i place the scenes, it is always the last two that pause at the first frame.o try another approach, I linked instead to a video externally. This seems to work, but, when I click a button to go to another scene the audio from the previous scene is still playing when the new video starts.
I am trying to popup (addChild) a movieclip with a close button, which has FLVPlayback component in it. When hit close button, movieclip is removed from the scene and flv is stopped. But when popup the same movieclip again, flv is not correctly loaded into player and progress continues forever.vance.
I need to close the popup(adobe flex), non modal window if I click on the parent page of the popup. I have to do the out of focus check and then do some validation before close the popup. So what I was thinking that is there any inbuilt focus check event or do we need to create custom event for that?
I'm building a web site that uses swf's as pages. The menu.swf has 5 buttons one for each page. When I press a button it loads a page with addChildAt (page, 0); so that the menu is always a level above the currently loaded page. When one of the pages open it plays a mp3 in a loop. The music keeps playing when another page loads. The page that was playing the music was also on level 0 so it's gone yet the music keeps playing. How do I make it so the music stops when another page loads?
I have some sounds in a timeline ( i purposely put them on time line rather then through AS3). But is there a way to turn off all sound in the swf, like is there a global sound channel?
How do you turn off the sound in a game only? I ask because I have two buttons in my settings: turn music on/off and sound on/off. turning music on and off is really easy because it uses a specific sound channel. But How do you turn off the volume the sound only (e.g. music is still playing but not the sound of the game)?
When I mute the sound via SoundMixer.soundtransform you can't hear anything so that's not what I wanted to have. In my game all sounds are thrown into an array. My first idea was that I go through all sounds listed in the array and turn off the volume but that's not working.
Code: //not working private var sounds:Array; private var soundChannels:Array = [];
I have a sound-file (.wav, could be any format) saved in a ByteArray. How can I play it as a Sound? I've heard it should work with SoundChannels and stuff, but I don't know how...

I have created what looks like a book in flash. There is a corner turned over at the top right so when you click it the page turns. This is fine, however, what i want to beable to do is when I click it the page turns and goes to a new page. ( i have made all the other pages)I tried an on(release) but it just doesnt go to the page, it plays the movie clip but I cant get it to navigate aswell..
I am working on some dress pattern design tutorials. I would like to show patterns and fabric pieces flip over with a page turn type animation. I am looking for a simple method as it involves doing it to a lot of diagrams. I have been looking at After Effects as I know I can 'page turn' objects. This pretty well produces the effect I am looking for but I feel it should be easier in Flash (Shape tweening morphs the diagram and motion tweening doesn't help) or perhaps video in Photoshop. I don't mind what I use.
My patterns are drawn in Illustrator so importing them would be really convenient. Ideally I would like to fill the shapes with a textile pattern and have the reverse showing with a different texture but this is not essential - just getting the diagrams to turn over smoothly would be really nice.
I have even thought of screen recording the process of dragging the corner of the diagram and flipping it over in some way.
I am happy to experiment but if anyone can point me to the best way forward I would be very grateful. There is nothing worse than spending hours/days working on a way to do things only to find there is a preset somewhere that does it for you.
I have an animation that plays a couple of different sound effects (depending on what button is pushed). I have a checkbox that I would like to use to turn on/off the sound effects. I have read somewhere that it is possible to set up sort of a global sound that if stopped, stops all sound effects. I have tried to set this sort of thing up but no success . When I test getValue() of my checkbox it seems to work (defaulted to true) but nothing happens when I uncheck the box. What am I doing wrong? p.s. In what forum would I make the suggestion to have a new category for just sound problems? Does anyone else think it would be a good thing to sequester sound issues in their own category?
I am into the process of creating a Digital Scrap book(Interactive) with Action script. I have four QT movie files created with After Effects. I simply want to make an Interactive scrap book for the school children so that when they click a button(or even Text) on the Home page, that page turns and plays the corresponding video. Once the video is finished it goes back again to the Home page.
I have made an page-flip thing and now I want to add a script that turn the page in the right direction. Ex.If I reading page 9 and want to jump to 10 then Im playing a "turnpagefromtheright"- movie clip. But if I reading page 10 and want to go to page 7 then I want the movie to play a "turnpagefromtheleft"- movie clip.
So I need to compare the current page number with the page number Im going to and if that number is less than the current number I play 1 Mc and if its higher it plays another Mc.
So this is what I want but I dont know how to code it... since Im not as good as you are..
I am trying to make a button turn on/off a sound when pressed. I have tried to code it, but it does nothing everytime.
I have a sound in the library, with a linkage name of "sound" it is on the first frame in the main timeline. And i need a button to turn it off, and then on again.
I want to create a page turn effect in Flash, but not just simply that... I want the user to be able to search the text, links to be active... Am I better off just using Flash Paper?
I have some sound on a button and want it to be about half as loud as it actually is, do I need to edit it in a SoundEdit program? Or can I just make it play half as loud from within Flash?
I am loading in .swfs, that were exported from InDesign, using the page turn effect, into another swf that contains navigation. Would anyone know how I can make calls into the loaded swfs to trigger them to go to the next page, or report back how many pages the swfs contain? I can't seem to find any documentation on this?
Maybe you know how do easy turn page. Picture will be load into swf files and with turn page effect they change when some time will pass (sorry for my english)
If you create a popup via:[code]It will create a popup and bring it on top of any other visual piece. I have one problem though. This 'popup' needs to stay up even when the user interacts with the background.I would use modal, but I need the ability to interact with the back. Any way to tell the popup manager not to remove the popup when the user clicks off of it?
I have successfully added a Google Map Flash API using AS3 to page turning software that I use but the issue is when I upload it to the server online the Google Map stops all other swf files from working within the book when I turn a page. The map works fine online but removes two pages either side of where the map is placed. Anybody know why this is happening and any solution on how to get it working? Everything within the page turning software works fine when I test it locally so the issue is online somewhere. Maybe I could use something that stops the map from working when the page is changed?
I am trying to make a simple Paper page curl effect in Flash. It is animated, but does not need to be draggable. I am NOT looking for a digital magazine type draggable page turn. Just an animated one. I tried using the 3D component in Flash, but got a vey stiff result. I couldn't get the animation to bend, or warp the page. So it looked very flat and stiff. I would like a fairly natural page flip. Something that bends as it turns. There is a plugin in After Effects calle "Page Curl" and that is the basic effect I am looking for, but am trying to recreate it in Flash.
