Flex And Video Annotation?
Oct 18, 2010I have been investigating how to annotate video using Flex or AIR. Similar to how it is being done on YouTube. I am not getting much joy. Wondered if anybody might have any insight?

View 3 RepliesI'm creating something like a video player with annotation functionality. I can load up the notes, with times at which they were made by people (as strings), and put these into an array to be utilized. I also know the current time of the flv video as it's playing.
So each note has a time attached to it, but how can I use these as triggers that fire dynamically in relation to the video's duration?
I was wondering if we can put annotation to a video player? like on youtube?
View 3 Repliesasp.net mvc has something that allows for class property validation using annotation.
is there a similar thing in actionscript?
Is there a commonly used framework for AIR that handles mapping objects to and from the built-in SQLite database? An Annotation-based ORM framework that is to AIR what Hibernate is to Java? Background We have an AIR application that runs offline. I need to save/restore complex objects to/from the SQLite database. Some of these ValueObjects contain references to other ValueObjects. For example, an Order object contains a Customer object which contains an Address object.
Ultimately, I'd like to add metadata to my objects, like an [Entity] tag and have persistence "just work," with minimal configuration. I could roll my own ORM solution, effectively writing "Hibernate for AIR" myself, but SURELY someone has already done this. I've read related posts like Best practices for developing AIR Application with SQLite that advocate creating DAO's, Builders and Services. That's a fine solution but, of course, no one wants to reinvent the wheel if it's not 100% necessary.

the player uses a VideoDisplay and i set the source like videoDisplay.source = "sourceStringURL"
and the vid doesn't play until it's fully loaded
I understand that the spark framework has a video player and a video display. The difference being that video display doesn't have the video controls.I know that stage video is new in AIR3 and uses hardware acceleration to play videos. My question is, does videodisplay and videoplayer take advantage of stage video out of the box? Do I need to implement it another way?
View 2 RepliesI need to load dynamiclly video in flex video player on the web,I'm using standard video player component, when page load a want to load a video in it.I'm not flex programmer
View 1 RepliesI am using Flex and FMS to develop a video conferencing application. I am using DynamicStream to automatically switch incoming streams to the appropriate bitrate depending on the available bandwidth. I was wondering if there is anyway in which I can instruct the DynamicStream to allow more bandwidth for audio (obviously at the cost of losing some frames from the video).
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to implement a flex app that will be able to record a video from a webcam and then upload it to a server. I've only found tutorials and examples that require a media server running such as Red5, Flash Media Server and Wowza and an open rtmp stream to the server. However, I want to know if it's possible to record a video locally and then submit it to the server with a simple HTTP request. Is there a tutorial somewhere that shows how to do this? I'm really new in flex development
View 3 RepliesI am using Flex for displaying videos streamed using the Red5 server. Basically i have two perspectives - one who relays and one who receives the broadcast. On the Flex side, in the video display, the video quality is good but on the receiver side it appears pixelated. I can't find the cause. Does this have anything to do with Flex encoding of videos or any Red5 server settings?
View 1 RepliesSuppose you have an encrypted video file and the associated AES key. Is it possible to play that video in a flex AIR application without saving the decrypted version of the file? How?

View 2 RepliesRecently i have visited so many video enriched flash site like this one [URL] Most of them shows video in full size. I downloaded the video using FF plugin. Video framesize is very small compared to the stage size. When i tried to add video and resize the video acoording to the page size , it slows the browser. I tried to embed the flv inside an swf and loaded the swf using normal loader and plyed it.. but the quallity and performance comapred to these site is very low..

Im trying to make a video class so I can put in my src and video dimensions to load up a video .. I am wishing to implement this in the following way

I'm looking at a project that requires the ability to play one flash video over the top of another... sort of like an animated watermark, where the video on top has transparent regions ans may not be the same width/height as the one underneath.
Using Flash/Flex, can this be done in a web-app at real time? Or would you have to use an offline server app?
EDIT: This is not an HTML question. It's about making a simple video-editing kind of tool solely in Flex. Maybe I want to overlay a video of a galloping horse over a video of passing scenery or something. Ultimately, being able to output a single mixed video is useful, but for video editing that's too slow, real-time playback as the position of the overlay video is changed would be needed.
I've been stucked with this requirement for a long time. And how can I do that?
View 1 RepliesI need to play a .mov file backwards in my Flex app.

View 1 RepliesIs it possible to use the VideoPlayer or VideoDisplay components in Flex 4 to stream a video from YouTube rather than just use the custom YouTube player? How? I want to serve a video inside a banner.
View 1 RepliesI'm new to Flex and currently working on the Video Component in Flex. The problem is:Buffering starts only after the specified time. So, if i have specified the Buffer Time to be 2 s, then the video buffers for sometime, gets the data for the 2s and then plays it and then again buffers. The point is it is not buffering in parallel to playing. Is there any way of making this possible in Flex 3? Or is it already there in newer versions of Flex?

which property should i change or bind a slider to in order to be able to change the sound volume ?
Flex appears to have 2 video classes: Video and VideoDisplay. My question is when does it make sense to use one or the other?
What I can tell from initial glancing is that VideoDisplay responds to mouse events because it inherits from IntaractiveObject, but I'm not sure if it's a real difference, because Video seems to have a workaround for this in that you can add your own event listeners.
There's probably more to it, but this is the only difference I can see now. So my question for those who used these objects extensively, can you share your experience when you use one over the other.
That has all the basic functionality like play, pause, stop, forward, rewind, and volume controls?
View 6 RepliesI'm using NetConnection, NetStream and a flash.media.Video control to play back video files stored on the local machine. Works great for FLVs, and for H.264-encoded MP4s, but for non-H.264 MP4s, I often get audio, but no video.
I realize this is to be expected. What I'm wondering is whether there's a way to reliably detect that the video portion of the file is unplayable, irrespective of the audio. Of the many events available in NetStream, and even in the client callbacks (onMetaData, etc.), I don't see anything that explicitly informs for an unplayable video track -- I see NetStream.Play.NoSupportedTrackFound, and NetStream.Play.Failed, but for these videos -- i.e., playable audio, non-playable video -- I don't get either one, presumably because the audio works.
I wanted to know which event determines if an external video is loaded (using Action Script 3, Flex SDK 3.4 compiler and FlashDevelop -VideoEvent is not present here-).
I'm using a flash.media.video component
I've tried with NetStatusEvent.NET_STATUS and "NetStream.Buffer.Full" but it does not seem to work.
how can I remove the space between my video and control bar.I tried to change margin and padding to all element without success. There is still a thin white space above the controls.[code]
