View 10 RepliesI have an mc that has 12 buttons on 12 layers all btns have alpha tweens for 10 frames so the appear like this
btn 1 alpha fr 1 to 10
btn2 alpha fr10 to 20
btn3 alpha fr20 to 30 and so on.
at the end of the clip there is a stop.on the first frame of the button actions I have as follows

I keep getting the 1009 error soon as the mc gets to the last frame NOW, if I put all the buttons and remove all frames from 11 on so all buttons alphatise at the same time and the mc ends on frame 10 the error disappears How can I alphabetize each button at a different time without getting the error?
I have a DataGrid set up and have the XML data nice and cozy inside of it, but I have a bit of a snag. The data I'm importing comes from a few separate files but the DataGrid ends up displaying all of them, so the rows are a bit of a jumble initially. Is there a way to tell the DataGrid, AFTER it has all of it's data, to sort itself out alphabetically based on it's first column?
View 3 RepliesOn any flash site that I have found on the internet with an input field, it is not possible to input an accent using my mac. Create an input text field on the stage and publish the fla, then view it in a browser. If you try to input an accent in the .swf, it works fine (� : option-e, release, push e again), but if you try to do it in a browser the accent does not appear. (This seems to work fine for a pc, though its a different input code).

I have two combo boxes. The first combo box's data is added through an XMLConnector object, the second combo box, I would like to populate through an on (change) event in the first combo box. The items in the second combo box would relate to the selection made in the first combo box.
I have attempted the following within the Actions for the first combo box:

I have this problem with text set to bitmap text rendering. With fonts like pixel fonts like standard 07_51, Kroeger etc. I can't get them to show the right accents. This shows on stage and in runtime and it occurs with static, dynamic fields and input fields. When I choose anti-aliasing then it's ok, but that isn't the purpose with those pixel fonts, right? I've set the correct font-embedding settings.
I checked it on two computers with Flash CS4 v10 on MacOS X 10.6.2, Belgian Keyboard, FontExplorer Pro for font management.

View 8 RepliesI have searched high and low on this one and there are many different answers and suggestions.I am loading my text in via XML. I have made sure that it is UTF8 encoded.For any other dynamic text I would simply embed the characters I need.
So far I can change the colour and the size of the text in the combobox but just can't seem to figure out how to embed the french characters I need in there.I have created my own font and embedded the characters I need into a dynamic text field on the stage. The created font is named "appfont"

English to French and vice-versa)?I tought that create two XML file (one english, one french), with the same node's structure would be a good idea, and the make a side menu with something like that:

View 1 RepliesI've been using Flash for a few years now and I've recently (5 months+) started using CS5 package.My query is how do I successfully embed accented latin characters into a "classic" dynamic text field in my compiled Flash movie that are called from an external text file. I've searched the various forums online and all the methods demonstrated have not worked.
What I've done so far is to to select my dynamic text field, click on "Embed" within the PROPERTIES area, choose the font and the weight, then add any of the foreign characters and/or glyphs to the "Also include these characters:" area then finish up and compile. When I run my SWF file, the glyphs and accented fonts are missing but all the other typical Latin characters show up.
I tried this same method in CS4 (because we have an old Mac in the office too), and almost the same thing happened except instead of completely missing out the glyphs and fonts, it showed a box (almost like an image placeholder) instead.
I have text in a dynamic field showing up as circle. I want to say if circle shows up change it to cercle (french).

I am simulating a form that my audience needs to fill out. For 2 text fields, I am using a combo box to allow them to select the proper input. If they leave the form screen, I need to save their answers so they do not have to start from the beginning. I am using global variables.
My problem occurs, when I try to populate the combo box using the audience's previously selected response. I have tried using setSelectedIndex. It works to the extent that the choice indicated highlights in the combo box, but the actual selection is not appearing in the text area. Do I need to set Combobox.text = selection?
