I have a MovieClip with 2 nested MovieClips inside. The background movie I set to a certain colour using ColorTransform and the other movie is sort of shading.
What I'm trying to do is make sure that I transform the shadings colour to be a darker shade of the background movie's colour.
I was also thinking could I then have a mid point where if the background colour is really dark have the shading start to be a certain shade lighter?
ViewNavigator has ActionBar on top by default. I want move at the bottom.
navigator.actionbar.y=415 //gets actionbar at bottom
but in next view it comes back on top. You can set height in each view but it will show bar at the top for few seconds before bring back to bottom.
How can Application's ControlBar be moved to its bottom in Flex 4.5 ?
The Adobe doc says only:
By default, the ApplicationSkin class defines the control bar area to appear at the top of the content area of the Application container with a grey background. Create a custom skin to change the default appearance of the control bar.
So I look at spark.skins.spark.ApplicationSkin and there is a controlBarGroup (does it hold the ControlBar contents?), but I don't know how to move it from top to the bottom.
I'm developing a game atm, and I need some help on the mathematics/coding of colliding circles (and their change in x/y speed). What i need to know is how to calculate the direction and speed a circle has after colliding with a static (non-moving) circle. I know how to detect a collision between the two, but I'm not sure about the maths I need to give the circle the right speed and direction after the collision
If i do know how far away the two circle-points (in the middle of each) are to each other (in both x and y coords) would it be easy for me to find the new speed and direction of the large circle in the example above? I know that I somehow should use the angles to pretend the circle hits a flat "wall" (as it only hits one point), and then calculate the new speed/direction. My only problem is that I'm not sure how to decide the angle of this flat "wall" and how x and y speeds should change when colliding with a wall that is angled. Does anyone here have any insight, links or tips on how I can du this?
i want to make one circle follow the mouse cursor, inside another circle. Similar to an eye looking at the cursor. Ive attached an example.

I`ve tried working on Shapes with cacheAsBitmap = true and Bitmaps with BitmapData but it doesn`t seens to work.

View 0 RepliesTrying to do circle circle collisions via math which I'm really having trouble with. One circle (player) just moves from keyboard. The ball reacts to the player. All the code shown is in my players class and I passed in a reference to the ball.

View 3 RepliesI'm having a problem in one of my fla files. I'm not sure if I changed the view or what I did exactly, but now all I have is colored outlines around where images are supposed to be. All of the text has turned different colors as well.

View 2 RepliesI want to keep my text editable in Flash (Classic text) and convert to outlines on publishing to swf so I don't have to worry about font embedding. Is it possible to do this? ie FLA keeps editable text but swf gets published out with outline text.
View 2 Replies all the layers are displayed as outlines.I can assure you that outline mode is NOT switced on "globally" or for each layer.I have tried toggling the icons on and off to see if that would reset it, but it did not.Every new document is doing this, even after relaunching the program and rebooting the OS, Preview and Published display correctly, it is only in the the working environment that things aren't right.None of the other workstations are doing this, just this one.I did an update, but the issue persisted.
The weirdest part about it is, when I gave him a file created on my laptop to see what would happen, everything was displayed normally,New layers added to this document also displayed normally. When I open action script 2 or 3 in CS5, and draw a rectangle or any shape, I can only see outlines? The problem IS NOT the outlines button that is in the layers palet as I have changed this many times and it has mad no difference and the problem IS NOT because I have selected no fill or colour for the shape. BUT interestingly, when I have opened someone elses .fla work document, I can draw and fill shapes without a problem, which makes me wonder whether I am missing some basis setting when I start with my own new document ??
I have created a movie with a text input component and it is being included in a main movie by using html <img> tags. When I view the movie on a webserver and enter text the keyboard reverts from uk english to us english(i think) and the @ symbol mysteriously changes location to above the number 2.I'm not sure what to do about this cause when I run the movie on its own it works fine. I thought about embedding font outlines as a last resort. But I can't figure out how to embed font outlines in a component.

View 3 RepliesI have a simple three ring animation where the three rings fade in and out.On the stage the rings are a perfect circle, in the publish preview they look fine, but once I publish the SWF, all of the sudden the rings are not perfectly round anymore.
They are almost perfect but right at the top and bottom there is just a small portion which has sort of "flattened out"...

View 5 RepliesI have two MC's, circular in shape. One of the circles is stationary and you can drag the other. I'm trying to get the moveable circle to be able to move around the circumference of the stationary circle, but not overlap. I'm able to detect when they overlap, not using hittest. I just can't figure out how to code it so that the draggable circle can't be moved over the stationary circle.

I swear I used to be able to see an outline of my clips even though the alpha is all the way down... now if my clip is alpha down there's no outline when i 'view as outlines' in the timeline. maybe i accidently changed a setting some where?
View 12 RepliesOne thing that seems particularly easy to do in the Flash IDE but difficult to do with code is to outline an organic shape. In the IDE you can just use the inkbucket tool to draw a stroke around something. Using nothing but code it seems much trickier. One method I've seen is to add a glow filter to the shape in question and just mess with the strength. But what if i want to only show the outline?What I'd like to do is to collect all of the points that make up the edge of the shape and then just connect the dots. I've actually gotten so far as to collect all of the points with a quick and dirty edge detection script that I wrote. So now I have a Vector of all the points that makeup my shape. How do I connect them in the proper sequence so it actually looks like the original object?[code]
