I have a project (see attached) where I need to have the folders seem like they are floating in space, and I need the best way to make it so when you click on a back folder, it slides off the screen and come back in front of all the folders.

I'm making a shape (christmas tree) which i can't make with rectangles and circles exc, so i made it with moveTo/lineTo, the problem now is that i can't "call" for it to fill the area inside the shape... how would you do it? As far as I could see in the reference manuals, the beginFill() method of the flash.display.Graphics class ends any previous incomplete (i.e., not ending back at the start point) fills by automatically drawing a line to the latest MoveTo() location.But, it seems it also ends any previous incomplete drawing even without fills, by drawing that final line.
But that's ok. The weird part is, even when I draw just one line and begin a fill immediately after that, I guess it tries to complete that line by drawing one more line back to the starting point and the messes up the display with the fill color in the following beginFill() call.

The output is as in the attachment.The first part creates a weird fill along the side of the line till the end of the container object.I even tried a endFill() at line 4, but same result. The only way to prevent this is to explicitly moving to some point as in line 11.
I am working on a simple eportfolio for one of my college classes. I am trying to made one movieclip (instance: main) move horizontally when you click on buttons. I have two buttons one of the left side of the the stage (Instance: show) that slides "main" to the right; and one of the right side of the stage (instace: hide) that slides "main" to the left.
Problem: According to my script now, I can only move the movie once to a defines x-value. How can I get it so when the button is clicked it continues to move "main" multiple times?

I've built a drawing application. Because I've programmed the option to insert symbols (new movieclips), I needed to create a new movieclip each time I start drawing. The problem is that I now completely messed up my lineTo and moveTo sequence, and it just draws from coordinates which I don't understand where is gets them from.The code section is basically:

I have a main lineDrawing movieclip into which i'm creating a new shDrawing each time the mouse moves. The problem is, because it starts a new movieclip each time - it messes up the coordinates of the line drawing.(btw, I can solve this if I could only do some kind of "lineTo" function on a movieclip, so that it "lines-to" from mouse down to mouse up seamlessly, regardless of the speed of moving the mouse.

Why do i get the same value back for every button i click?
What code would I need so that once I get to the end of an application, you can click a button so it restarts going back to the beginning?

I have a page which has an intro animation which lasts 314 frames and finishes with a button. When you click the button it takes you to a separate html page with a scrolling photogallery. When I click the 'back' button in the photogallery it takes me back to the first html page with the intro animation.
How do I make sure that when I click the back button it skips the first 314 frames (bearing in mind I am returning from a separate html page)?
I recently used one of those XSPF Flash player buttons on a website and of course it worked, played back music automatically, stops when you click button... but one weird thing I noticed is the song being cut off before it ends... One song I have is 4 minutes long, and only plays for 1.5 minutes..

My menu bar has the following: (About Us) (Services) (Quality) (Projects) (Contact Us) Each page will have a motion shape tween and slide the page down. I have type in this actions :

This actions only works when I click to the next labels but doesn't work when I want to click back to the previous labels. For example, if I click onto (About Us) to (Services) and (Services) to (Quality) and (Quality) to Projects and (Projects) to (Contact Us)... it all works. If I then click from (Contact Us) back to (Projects) or even any previous buttons.
I've created an swf file in After Effects and uploaded it to my website. It works fine, HOWEVER. when you click onto another menu tab and then switch back to Home the swf has dissapeared.To see for yourself look at [URL]

I am also having issues with the logo loading a second time when I click a separate button that takes me back to frame 1 with the code that creates the empty movie clip.
after i done all the animations and i want to paste it another fla. the movie clip animation positions not in the stage anymore, after i click on the timeline of the movie clip, it set path the movie clip to -8000+ X and Y. even i want to set to any number, it pop out invalid position. i have to use mouse drag the number back to position that i want. it's totally drive me crazy... really unstable.. sometimes i open back my fla, the movie clip position run too and i need to use transform tool double click set back to 0.

When the buttons are clicked, it takes the user to a different point in the timeline and loads the appropriate swf in the UILOader I have on stage.Everything was working fine, but it has suddenly decided to stop working. Now if you click a button on the index page, it loads the relevant swf just fine, but when you go back to the index page and click a different button, the UILoader will not show the corresponding swf and just appear blank, although I know its there as I can hear the sound of the swf playing! I'm not sure if its simply something blocking the swf, but I don't even know what it is! I'm using addChild to add little panels to the screen when a button is pressed, but they are hardly big enough to cover the whole of the UILoader!
View 1 RepliesOkay so our current assignment in class is to create our own version of the jeremy levine design website. But I am currently stuck and have not gotten anywhere for the last 3 days that I have worked on it.
The problem is when I click on the box to go into the wood grain texture, I want to be able to click on the X box that appears in order to go back to frame 42 in the main timeline. (the x is currently only on the box with the 1 on it.)
I have a flash gallery in side my movie I have a next button and a prev button that works just fine. The issue I am having is when you click next and then go back the getURL function no longer works. It might be easier to view the issue. here is the link [URL]
View 1 RepliesOur testing department found that my flash menu sometimes doesnt work after going back to a page by clicking Back button in browser (Firefox).
It happens rarely and randomly, yet still it happens.
i cant see any pattern in its behavior and any reason in it.

i've tested this in every way i could think of,
it gets ROLL_OVER event, but not CLICK event.
ive also tested it with hasEventListener and it always has. its just not triggering function.
BUT clicking anywhere on page outside flash makes it work again.
Question: whose fault is this? Flash? Drupal? Firefox? God?
UPDATE: it looks like its caused by <param name="wmode" value="transparent"/>.
Firefox seem to have problem with that.

I was reading the 'Isometric Transformations' tutorial by Danko Kozar and I have a few questions. I understand what all the code does, but not how it does it. First of all, how does the following code work:
transforms x,y,z coordinates into Flash x coordinate

I understand that it converts 3d coordinates to 2d coordinates, but I don't understand how. What numbers whould be punched into x, y, and z to acquire certain desired effects?Also, what's the difference between moveTo and lineTo:

[URL] once it loads, if you click any of the links (keyholders crab button, travel button, or opportunity button), and proceed to the page, and then click "back" on the browser, the flash does not reload, or "replay". The only way to get it to replay is to right click the flash player, and click "play".

am just getting into flash, but my learning has been very slow due to job, family, social life, etc. I had a friend that came across a template that he liked and he wanted me to edit the template to his liking. I agreed and everything is about 99% done as far as the flash goes (not the total website). But I came across and issue and I have no idea how to fix it.

If you go to the navigation and click "shafts", then click on one of the manufacturers, it takes you to that manufacturer page where he will be selling the golf clubs. But once you are on that page, you can't click the "Shafts" button again to take you back, you simply have to click the "back" button.

In my CS4 flash document I have created a media gallery. It's a very simple interface that has mouse overs on thumbnail pictures, and then the larger picture will fadeUP in the center of the document. (With use of framelabels in the timeline).
In the same document, I want the user to be able to click on a video thumbnail, and that video plays back in the center of the document. Several questions: If the user clicks on the thumbnail "onrelease," the time line goes to the player, is it possible to stream this video from a youtube clip into my media player on the screen? If not and I have the document in a fl4 format, is there a simple process to have this video open? (I currently do not have the document in fl4 format).
creating a flip-book in flash (using AS3) . I've looked at the other flip-book programs and editors out there, and none really give the customization that my company wants.I have something working, but the page scoping seems to be off. The pages will turn back and forward with a button click but they flip out of order. However, it all runs fine with no error when the user clicks on the pages themselves. This is the code from the main timeline (where I'm getting an error).
