View 8 RepliesOnly just getting started on this whole domain of learning, so go easy!If I set up a P2P video/audio chat (similar to the sample VideoPhone thing on the Cirrus site), can I get the stream from both parties to send to a server at the same time so that I can record it? If so, would I have to use a FMS to stream it to and perform the recording (and if so which version could I get away with)? Are there any (preferably free, or just tutorialised) solutions for the recording side of things?
Currently it seems like the only option for doing the P2P thing is to use Stratus/Cirrus unless I use FMS4 Enterprise.
how effective this kind of situation can be, in terms of quality of the stream and recording? Does any of this make sense?
I've had FMS running on my local machine for a while and have had a little experience writing FMS apps, but I've just tried recording audio for the first time using the standard vod application and I keep getting a "Write access denied for stream" error. My AS3 code is copied and pasted for various examples and am confident that it works.
I'm running Windows XP service pack 3 & FMIS 3.5.
I've had a look at the vod/media directory and under windows->properties the read-only attribute is ticked. Every time I un-tick this it reverts back to being ticked. I've googled this and MS say that most programs ignore the read-only attribute and that it only really applied to files. I've also tried the MS fix for setting the read-only attribute via cmd and still no joy (doesn't fix read-only attribute or FMS recording the audio after setting via cmd).
I've also tried our dev server install of FMS (running under linux) and am getting the same results.

I build a client side application where is only a FLVPlayback2.5 component and a short AS3 script.

My Encoder is setup with three streams: Vid: 500 kbps - Audio: 48 kbpsVid: 800 kbps - Audio: 48 kbpsVid: 1500 kbps - Audio: 48 kbps I start the encoder and everything looks fine in the log. In my browser (Safari or Firefox) I go to my html site and the stream starts after 6-8 sec. But anytime with the lowest bitrate 548 kbps and nothing look like the stream is switching to another bitrate. I tried it with the smil playlist and the result is the same. Only the lowest bitrate is plublished.

I have recently installed FMIS 3.5.3. In checking the access logs I find data in both logs that display the same stream stop and stream play time .I'm not sure why the time is the same (00:19:27 example below). Videos play fine when testing from work (T3 connection). However, occasionally a very slight hesitation when playing video from home (I have cable connection). [code]...
View 4 RepliesI'm having a problem with recording a live webcam stream. The last few seconds of the stream is getting cut off.
The recording is stopped with the following piece of code:

ns.attachCamera(null);
ns.attachAudio(null);
ns.pause();
What could be causing this? Is the stream cut off too soon? Is the client unable to send buffered data to the server?
I am having trouble getting audio stream meta data from an Akamai FMS stream. Everything is undefined and I'm not sure why. I am hoping maybe someone will notice something that I am overlooking. The stream is connecting and playing without a problem I just can't seem to figure out why all the meta data is undefined.

I have a layout with narration and a nav bar. When I click a nav button for section 2, the audio from section 1 (set to stream) continues to play over the audio for section 2. This cumulates so if I click buttons for sections 3, 4 and 5, I get five audio files playing on top of each other. Sections are individual movie clips with embedded audio streaming on a Sounds layer in each movie clip.
View 3 RepliesI'm trying to stream a HDS live multi-bit stream, it seems to push to the FMS but my player doesn't display the stream.Are these settings and files correct? The documenation is confusing on what and which files need to be edited and/or created.
Encoder settings:

I am very new to action script. I want to stop the stream from publishing then later on i want to publish the same stream again. My problem is that I have 3 levels of stream processing (Ingress-Rename ProxyLimelight-AuthProxy-Live) before it goes live. User wants to stop stream from publishing and then publish the same stream when he wants in each level. User does not want to start the stream from the begining, he wants to restart the stream on the same where he stopped.

I've registered for the apple developer program, and now I'm trying to get my app on iPhone. Everything is going fine until I install my app, then iTunes says: The app "App Name" was not installed on the iPod "iPod Name" because the signer is not valid. I have no idea why. I made my signature using the OpenSSL for windows, and i have downloaded the visual c++ redistributables 2008, and set the RANDFILE to .rnd, and i did it in Firefox.
View 1 RepliesI had installed a FMS 3.5.6R6003 in a Cent.O.S linux with an Edge configuration... and i have found the following error in the /var/log/messages...!!!

But, even with this warning, the FMS is running apparently normal...
in my class, if I create bitmapData like this

But if I declare the varible inside the method

It works fine.
When I set leading to 0 with Verdana (and others to) for a Flex TextArea I get strange results:
fontsize -> space between baselines
8 -> 10 (125%)
10 -> 12 (120%)

I have this particular script that runs so that the flash elements don't show up on top of my slide out navigation. This redraws that flash element with wmode as opaque and so it shows up under the navigation. Works perfectly with Chrome and FireFox but not with IE. In IE I get an Invalid Argument in jquery.min.js code 0 Line 103 char 460. Can anyone help me as to why? If I comment out the second line of code inside the function then there is no error, but then doesn't work in FireFox.[code]
View 1 RepliesI started converting this flex application to run on android using the new flex hero sdk.i already replaced all mobile-incompatible components and got it running a few times succesfully.
When I use the same libraries running the original webapplication it works perfectly.The big problem however are these random Invalid BitMapdata errors while starting the mobile application. Here's the whole output.

Now it seems to me that, wile running the mobile application, it is unable to find the image, as when I run the webapplication, using the same library where the above line of code is, it is able to find the image.
This problem has been haunting me for days now and I'm really starting to think this is a bug, especially because it sometimes DOES run. Or is there something I'm missing here.
Executing one of the ant tasks, which launches mxmlc (which in turn uses JVM). I am getting the following output:

By googling on the error message, I've realized that the heap size for the jvm was not set correctly. Tried to examine my environment variables by grep-ing "384" or "java" but got nothing. Where are those parameters taken from?

I'm getting an Invalid BitmapData Error #2015 at flash.display::BitmapData$iinit() that points to the line of code below where a BitmapData object is created. I am using this function to create only a few hundred Item objects, each of which is only 166 px by 96 px in size so I don't believe that the problem has to do with running out of memory. I also used system.totalMemory to trace memory consumption but it showed that only a few tens of megabytes were used when the error occurred. I have tried setting the BitmapData and Bitmap objects to null because that was a solution I found on another site. That didn't work. I tried dispose(). The error occurs intermittently, sometimes after running my app a few times and sometimes when I first load it. I am not refreshing my browser over and over in order to run the app. I cannot figure out the exact sequence of events that leads to this error. In earlier versions of my app, I was able to successfully use the exact same function (minus the lines where the BitmapData and Bitmap objects are set to null).

View 1 RepliesI am writing a slideshow that takes a random image from a media RSS feed and creates a bitmap and adds it to the stage in a random position on the stage so that each new image lays on top of the last. The actionscipt works fine, but after a time, the computer runs out of memory and I get a ArgumentError: Error #2015: Invalid BitmapData. error.
My thought was, instead of adding child on top of child, I would just add the new image to the original bitmap or perhaps a copy of the bitmap and swap from old to new with each newly added image. Is this a possible solution and can anyone help with some code ideas? All the examples of BitmapData.draw() show only addig one object at a time per bitmap. I don't know if it is possible to add/merge/combine bitmaps.
i'm trying to play external videos using netStream.
My script work fine with .flv files, but with .f4v it doesn't work with Firefox (i've tried versions 3.6 and 4): I get NetStream.Play.FileStructureInvalid
F4v files was exported using Media Encoder from Premiere.

I remember darkly that the XML class in AS3 would throw an exception if you tried to give it data in it's constructor that was not a valid XML string. But now I got a case where the XML happily takes every kind of data no matter it's valid XML or not...
