View 3 RepliesI am trying to get just a single pose from an armature layer without copying the whole layer. I just want the exact arrangement of symbols from a specific frame of the armature layer alone; in one keyframe; without the armature; into a normal layer. I tried a few things, like breaking apart and copying the individual keyframe (ctrl+click on the frame I want and "copy pose"). I thought about converting an armature layer into a frame-by-frame animation so I can just copy the one frame like I want, but it's apparently not an option. When I tried the break apart option it just breaks down the first frame of the armature layer into one big vector graphic. I've even tried highlighting every frame except the one I want to use and pressing Shift+F5. Nothing I've tried so far works.
This is annoying because if I don't find a solution, I will have to take each separate symbol used in this frame of the armature layer and individually align them all in the exact same position in the normal layer
I'm having trouble with something that should be incredibly basic, yet i have no idea how to solve my problem.

it shows x as being 3 when you hit the button but it reverts back right away, so it looks like gotoAndPlay(2) is still playing frame
1. how do i stop it from reseting my variables?
Is it possible to use actionscript to swap the frame to a different one after a certain amount of time i.e 30 seconds.

View 7 RepliesI want to make a flash header with a menu with 9 buttons and a changing photo for each (so 9 fotos). When you click on one menu button the current photo should fade out and the new foto should fade in (pretty much simultaneously so it is a nice transition). Now I don't want to make those picture fade-out and ins with tweens, because then i would have to make about 81 tweens..Instead, is there a way I could do this with AS?
View 1 RepliesI am making flash segments for one of my professors for online teaching and the way he has his server set up, whenever there are interactive segments, the segments are done on one frame. Right now I am trying to make an interactive segment where you click on input variables to an AND gate (in circuitry) to change the input from 0 and 1, and then based on these inputs it will show the output.
Basically I want to start out by having them all display ?'s, and then if you click on the ? it turns into a 1 and then clicking again goes to a 0 and 1 and 0 etc. How can I either change what these buttons look like or how can I change the buttons to go from the ? button to the 1 button while all staying on one frame? I am very very new to actionscript (I know how to AddEvent Listener, etc, I just need to know what to write for my function)
one thing that always annoyed me and that I never sought an answer for is, occasionally, when I want to play a single frame of a symbol, it won't stay on the frame I want. It will automatically default back to whatever frame # it is originally on.I read that it was because it has something to do tweening automatically syncing and snapping and I just have to turn it off. However, I can't figure out how to do that.

does anybody know how to attach a single movieclip when it gets to the frame? It is a stopped frame, so it just continually attaches it. The instance name is ast. I tried onLoad but it won't load the attached movie.
View 1 RepliesI have a button that I want to work on multiple frames. Currently, I have a scene that automatically starts to play when the playhead enters the first frame (no stop command). I have an event listener in the first frame that listens for a click. After the click the user is supposed to go to another scene.
The problem is that the button is not working. I am assuming that the code in the first frame only applies to the first frame and I need to add additional code that applies as the playhead is playing across the multiple frames.

Is there anyway to make graphics always default to Single Frame instead of Loop when you drag them from library to stage? It's kind of a pain to go to Properties > Looping > Options: Single Frame every time I drag a graphic instance.

Every time I copy a single frame it always indicates "Copy Frames" insteead of "Copy Frame". When I paste the frame, all of the flv embedded video gets copied instead of the lone frame.
is there a limit to the amount of things you can ask AS3 to do in a single frame? right now i have 10 buttons in a frame, each pulls a url for a link from an external xml. however, they only actually link if only 5 of them exisit in as3.

I have a couple of sound clips that I'd like to be able to play. I want one clip to play per frame (the frames are timed to a certain length through a set interval action). When I advance to the next frame (either when the timer runs out or I click a button) I want the first frame's clip to stop and the second clip to begin. IE: I have clip A and clip B which correspond to Frame A and Frame B. I go to frame A and clip A plays, I go to Frame B and Clip B plays (Clip A having stopped).

I am working is CS3 and am experiencing problems changing the first frame on a graphic symbol. When I type in a new number it jumps back to the old one. When I try to change play once/loop/single frame setting it jumps back to the previous setting. I am trying to simply modify this on a keyframe in the symbol's layer on the main stage. I've experienced this on multiple occasions, but can't get the workaround this time. I know I can do what I am attempting. In fact, I do it at a couple of spots earlier in this symbol's instance without problems.

View 3 RepliesI have a character, every body part is a movieclip. Now I wanted to put a movieclip for the eyes inside of the headmovieclip so that I can change them independently from the mouth. So in the eye-movieclip that is inside of the head-movieclip I put two keyframes, one for opened eyes and one for closed eyes. I put it to "Single frame" in properties. Now, whenever I make a pose and I change the frame number under properties so that it displays the closed eyes, it does that for the whole movie, not only on the frames that I changed it.
I wanted to use that to control things like eyes, ears and the mouth individually but like this it won't work, it changes it for the whole animation.

View 3 RepliesI have a timeline animation that contains a movieclip of a yellow bouncing ball. I want to change the instance of the yellow ball to a yellow top hat and have the TopHat bounce up and down instead of the ball. Sort of like the Swap button in the Flash editor, but at runtime.The ball mc is called yball, and inside that is the mc I want to replace, called yellowBall. I also created an mc called TopHat and exported it for AS. Then I tried a few variations on something like this:

I have a gallery featuring black & white images. I want the black & white image to change to a color version if the user rolls over the image. I've currently got the bw images to load into my flash with AS2 & XML. How do I get the image to change on rollover using XML?I figured out how to have the image if clicked go to a URL but am stuck on how to swap images instead. Can I have two images called out in the XML?

URL...I've written everything to detect when colors and teeth are selected, but I cannot figure out how to swap one movieclip for another. Right now I'm not using an actual image, just colored squares. I've set up a movieclip variable that is named each color. Basically I'd like to click a color on the bottom, then each time I click a tooth have it swap whatever movieclip is already there for the one of the color I selected.[code]
