I wanted to know if there is any facility to use Software Switchers along with FMIS The Situation: I am streaming multiple streams using FMLE from one place and at the receivers end, the client receives only of the streams at a time. So I wanted to apply switcher so as, I could stream only one stream from FMLE at one time I have explained the scenario in the attached image.

I've read suggest naming the stream in the FMLE to something like mp4:mystream.mp4 or mp4:mystream.f4v but then you can no longer view the stream, and according my the admin console the stream will not even publish using this syntax.
I can view the published stream if I name the FMLE stream to something like mystream.mp4 or just mystream, but then it doesn't record at all or records as a FLV file depending on how I code the main.asc file.
My problem and I SWFVerification enabled on the server and saw that FMLE does not connect more, I looked for some explanation and I saw that if that is enabled for SWFVerification you must also change UserAgentExceptions tag <Exception from = "" to =""/> at this point I added this change<Exception From="FME/0.0" to="FME/4.0"/>but I saw FMLE does not connect as little to solve this problem

I was broadcasting to justin tv last night and decided to try out the record feature i FMLE. It looked like it worked ok and a 125 mb f4v landed on my harddrive. There´s no way I can play it back though or for that matter convert it mov etc etc. What am I doing wrong do I need another special app for playback or converting. Seem a bit strange if this feature is onboard the FMLE but you can´t use it.
View 3 Replies1) I am trying to make connection with Flash Media Server to publish live video streaming, and I am sitting behind proxy and firewall, I am not able to make my connection with rtmp that's why I use rtmpt to make my connection with media server to publish .But in this case after publishing some time(ie 5 to 10 minutes) connection break down and streaming get stopped .The same problem occurs when I use "Flash Media Live Encoder 3" to publish live stream .
2) I am making my connection like this "rtmpt://xx.yy.zz.kk:80/Training" where xx.yy.zz.kk represent live System IP where Flash Media Server is running.
3) After analyzing the problem I observed that while publishing the stream ,http requests from Publishing system keeps on increasing and at one time it crosses the limit of proxy server (our proxy can handle 600 http requests per minute from any client PC) so streaming get stopped.
4) Then I attended "adobe connect pro" Trail classroom session by sitting behind the same proxy and firewall,But in this case my live video streaming is not breaking down ,as per my understanding adobe connect pro also use Flash Media Server for streaming.
I have been trying to block incoming connections with fms 4 ent for the live application.I set allowedSWFdomains.txt and allowedHTMLdomains.txt to [URL] so that I block every domain. I don't want any connection to come in and setting the domain to [URL] blocks everything when I try to load. Except using FMLE it allows this no matter what you set in the allowedSWF or allowedHTML what kind of security is this. Does that mean anyone with FMLE can connect to anyones server. How do I actually block connections?
View 4 RepliesI have upgraded from FMS2 > Flash Media Interactive Server 3.5 I added both the seriel number for FMS3 and FMS2 during the installation process. When I logged onto the admin panel there was no licence listed, and a link saying "to upgrade to unlimited connections now, click here".
So, I checked the fms.ini and no seriel was there. I put the seriel number in and restarted the server through the FMSadmin tool. Still, no licence file was showing. I then added the licence file via the admin panel and got a dialogue saying "Seriel Key "blah" Sent To The Server for approval". The seriel key now appears with a valid status of false. And no further progress after that. The documentation states that when you add the seriel key in this manner it should recognise it immediately.
Can anyone suggest what I might have done wrong? I have trebble checked the seriel number, and copied and pasted it to make sure it is exactly right.
As stated in the title, I want to know how to determine if my server/host has native bandwidth detection. I have FMIS 3.5 installed on my Linux server. Is this a setting in FMIS or is this something I have to call my host to find out?
View 5 RepliesI recently upgraded from FMS 2 - FMIS 3.5.Over our internal network videos stream like a dream!However, accessing them from outside our own network means that they take about 20 seconds to load, or sometimes just get a message saying the server isn't found.This wasn't a problem with the FMS2 and there have been no changes to firewall settings or anything like that since the old server was up and running without problems.I have the new server set to use exaclty the same ports, but wonder if there are some other settings which could be causing this?Networking isn't really my area of expertise, and I have no idea where to start looking to improve things.

Our firewall is allowing RTMP traffic to each of these ports. Is there something more I can do from my end to make sure users can access our FMS?

I need to take the some stream which is coming from firewire on mac, and then transcode/encode it to perticular bitrates, then stream.I think from firewire to FMLE, its straight forward. How can i stream? How can i give my clients ( say from mobile, or from any player as a http url streaming) stream? Do i need to use Flash media server, if yes can anybody point out the steps to set-up the same.
View 12 RepliesI am using FMLE and fms 4 ent. When using fmle to broadcast webcam without audio. It goes really fast. I am on 1gbps connection with nothing else coming to the server at moment. I tested download speeds to and from the server and they are around 700mbs. I have tried all the different audio sample and bit rate settings. All have the same result. Once audio is turned on there becaomes a 15 second delay. What am I doing wrong.

I read that it is best to de-interlace video "at the hardware level" before sending it to FMLE 3.2 for encoding. I have looked and looked for a software or solution but can't find anything that I can work. Is it best to de-interlace before sending the video to FMLE? I am streaming live video that needs de-interlacing before sending to our site. I know there is a "de-interlace" option in FMLE 3.2 but read that it was better to de-interlace the signal before sending to FMLE. I found something called DScaler but don't know how to get the video from DScaler into FMLE 3.2.
View 1 Repliesi was modified the main.asc script in livepkgr, it used to call s.play(streamObj.name), which i assume this is the code it play the stream from FMLE to s.play("FileName") , which is a flv video file in my application. unfortunately when i start the FMLE stream to the FMS and watch the stream with the FMS Sample Video player, i was expecting to see the video content from the flv, but instead the camera footage in playing on the player.
i am very confusing now, i thought the s.play the only code to control what should be playing in application. or when FMLE is connected to server, the server must play the footage from FMLE by some hidden code, no matter what s.play wanna to play?

View 2 RepliesAs seen the tutorial [URL].. I have successfully implimented the steps. However the problem comes when the stream is disconnected and reconnected again due to network problems. Once the stream is reconnected the video stops coming, even though all 3 streams are succesfully publishing the stream to Flash Media Server but on the client side where I'm using OSMF media player the stream gets stops. Is there any setting that I need to impliment in the OSMF player to resolve this issue ?

View 1 RepliesI've recently installed and set up a FMIS 3.5 setup and my web developer wants to have php on the server to create some dynamic content. Trouble is, I can not for the life of me get PHP to work on the server. Is there some special instructions that need to be followed with this special version of Apache that comes installed? Or is there any special reason I should use this version? If it won't hurt anything, I'm more than happy to just uninstall it and install my own Apache package, but I also don't want to limit or cause any problems in the future by doing so.

I have to decide between Flash Media Server and Flash Media Interactive server and price difference between the two is huge.Considering the features indicated above I would like to know the server edition I should go ahead with.
I was wondering if any one could clarify something with IP multicast. From what I understand to get IP multicast to work the server needs to publish to the router box. So how can this be achieved if the FMS server is not in the same network as the router box? Would it require a second FMS server to be placed in the same network as the router box that connects to the main FMS server?
View 5 RepliesI have Flash Media Interactive Server 3.5.5 on Windows 2008 server. I developed video chat application (many to many), it's only 1 FMS application with about 50-100 room instances and 1 lobby instance to which all users are connected. There are up to 600 - 700 users at a time which produce about 2000-2500 connections to FMS. Problem I have is with steady raise of memory usage, which if goes little above 2GB will make FMS unresponsive and it would restart itself after about 1-2hours. To avoid that Im restarting FMS manualy every 3-4 days. Interesting thing I noticed is that if I restart FMS from admin console, used RAM memory won't fall at levels as if it would right after whole Windows server is restarted

we are streaming 24/7 live from a number of FMLE's to FMS Interactive server to a livepkgr cloned app., and to our clients we stream both to Flash via rtmp and to iOS via HLS.Since we want to introduce another server (to be able to serve more clients), the question is - hot to republish from one to another server so that both servers can stream rtmp and hls to clients?We are already using the backup url in FMLE to stream to a backup server - this we do not want to change since the backup server is just that - backup, if the main server fails.

I need to load certain images that my php script creates, and acts as proxy to some apis, into a Flash client (application) however I cannot use direct calls to HTTP server because I'm not allowed to use allowscriptaccess=true. So I've been using FMS for some aspects of my application such as live video and audio and SharedObjects.
I know I can write scripts to load and parse XML files on the server side so that shouldn't be a problem to get, however I'm stuck on loading in images going through FMIS.
When I test my video recording and chatting application using SharedObjects, everything works fine even if allowscriptaccess=false, but none of my images will load (naturally since the script access is limited). I know that some sites disallow scriptaccess parameter in Flash embed code so I would want everything to go through FMIS.
I have read some suggestions that I could try to load files directly from server-side on FMIS as binary and try to pass that to the client and let Flash generate the image with ByteArray but I wouldn't try to lose time if it's not possible or will stumble upon problems.
Does anyone have any ideas whether or not FMIS can serve images direclty through RTMP (which would save me some headache) beacuse I could load XML info from server-side and when I get the link to image use RTMP to load the image, but I'm unsure if this is possible at all.
