I have a media player on my website. Visualizer of media player works when I test it on xampp localhost but it does not work when I upload it to my hosting.

I've done the following:
created a folder /fmsRoot/conf/_defaultRoot_/stream.example.comcopied in Application.xml and Vhost.xml from _defaultVhost_specified a new apps directory here: /home/stream.example.com/fms_app/ then added

I made a flash website for a client and there is only ONE thing wrong with it. Everything works when I preview it in Adobe Flash Player. And I have it embedded in a Dreamweaver CS3 file, and when I preview it...it works. THEN when I upload it to the server, two of the INTERNAL links fail. I have two links that say "Behind the Camera" and "Contact". [URL] You can see when you click on either of the links, it just randomly skips ahead in the first scene. What I really want them to do is when you click Behind the Camera you go to Scene 2 and Contacts you go to Scene 3. I have coded everything correctly, because everything works when I preview it. But once I upload the .swf file to the server, those links fail.

I have a bunch of loadMovie() scripts in my flash files and everything loads fine when I open the flash files from my folder.Once I preview them online on my test server, the loadMovie() scripts no longer work. Has anyone encountered this? Does my paths need to change in order to view the flash files online?Right now, I have everything realitive to the flash file so:My main file is test.swf. that loads in fine in the website.But test.swf loads in test2.swf which is contained in a flash folder so my loadMovie script itloadMovie("flash/test2.swf", 2)

Everything works fine in preview mode and test movie mode.The problem comes when I puplish to the web.I'm just using flash to publish which puts all the files in a folder.IN previous attempts, once I load those files onto a server it does not play the .flv file.The .sfw skin will show up but the general .sfw file for the project doesn't seem to be finding the .flv file.And yes, I'm uploading the .flv file to the server.Is there something wrong with the html code that it can't find the .flv file?I can replicate this problem on my desktop by moving the .flv file out of it's project folder.Once I do that and then click the .html file the page will load but it won't find the video file.It's like it can only open that file if it's in the original project folder and the folder doesn't get moved.
View 9 RepliesI created a website a year ago using Macromedia Flash 8 and uploaded some flv files. (They were quick time movies and I converted it to flv) On my old computer I could view the files online perfectly. However since then we have gotten two new computers that came with Adobe Flash Player 10 and now every time I go to my websites I can't view my flv anymore. I click on the link and it won't pop up. Does this have anything to do with the fact I made the site with Flash 8? Because when I converted the files it said it was compatible with Flash Player 8 or later so I don't know why I can't view it now.

It should be just like telecasting videos in Television.For example, I just uploaded a video (30 mints length). I shared the video to my friends at 5.00 PM and My friend shared the same video to his friends at 5.15 PM. So It should be like playing uploaded video from 5.00PM to 5.30 PM and the same video from 5.15PM to 5.45PM to my friend's friends. It should be like playing(telecasting) one video to many people at different times and Viewers cant forward or backward. Just watch it only once.

Im gettin very stressed out now as all my file routesetc are correct?I have googled the problem and all I have found out is that it could be something to do with security?Does anybody know how to resolve this problem

View 1 RepliesI have a flash template that I bought and customized with dreamweaver, flash and Coda html editor, the website test PERFECTLY when I test the index.html file, all of the buttons work fine, I have a total of 12 .flv videos and they ALL play back fine, when I play the index.html file, the problem occurs when I upload the files to my godaddy server, 11 of the videos play fine, the whole site is fine, it is one particular .flv file that will not play once it is uploaded to the server. I have changed the orders the video play, renamed the file and changed the html flv path to reflect the name change, I have deleted all the files off my server, refreshed the server logged out and re logged on and uploaded everything again, I have re-encoded the original .mov file to a .flv file again using Adobe media encoder, still nothing, I am wondering why would the index.html play this particular .flv file fine, but once uploaded to the server it will not play, the path is correct I have checked it, if the path were the problem the index.html for that particular file would not play when I test the index.html file before I upload it, but it plays fine until it is uploaded, I am uploading the whole folder on the root, and this particular video file is in a folder with all the rest of the .flv files, I even tried changing the path and putting this particular .flv file in a seperate folder and change the path still nothing.

I set the sharedobject using code above,now I can publish video,but so is not set(from admin console, "shared object" tab).
i have FMS Installed And after its installed i also Install The Addon Auth to make a username and password so no one else can just start a Stream but after i install it and restart the server it wont work any the fms does work but the addon doesn't.

first off im confused in each edge server i set them to be remote, rtmp and changed the routeentry to <RouteEntry>*:*;96.44.***.***:1935</RouteEntry> on both servers
orgin server is just local
what my question is im streaming to orgin and its getting sent to 1 edge and other edge is doing nothing no traffic the stream i set it this way url:
'rtmp://173.254.***.***/live/live_test',
which is the 1 edge thats working if i setup another channel pointing to the other edge server ip adresss it doesnt work.. what am i doing wrong isnt all this supposed to be load balanced or am i missing steps...or did i do it wrong on the flash player config.
I have a problem with flash media streaming server 3.5.0. I try to make subfolder under application/vod/media and put .flv file there, but it just doesn`t work from there. Example url should be [URL]
View 2 RepliesI have a preloader function that uses contentLoaderInfo to load swfs ont the stage. It works fine in simulated download in the Flash Player. When I run it on my host the swf file finishes downloading before the preloader appears to run. I use the word appears because I only sometimes spot a glimpse of a graphic that indicates the loading process.
Are there known discerpancies between host and Flash Player realities?
Are there any subtlties with using with contentLoaderInfo?
I installed FMS 3.5.1 dev version. To add protection on the video content, I followed the topic at [uRL]..
Is there additional setting I have to make? Is DisallowedProtocols only working at commercial version?
I'm using FMS 4.0 64 bit The way I create new VHost on default adapter:
1. Create new directory named for example foo.host.com and copy Application.xml and Vhost.xml from _defaultVHost_ dir.
2. Execute startVHost command through http admin interface or Restart Vhost in admin console.
New Vhost still does not work untill I Restart the Server (which is not acceptable). I had no problems with startVHost or restartVHost on new vhosts on FMS 2 - I did not have to restart the whole server to make new vhost work.
I was wondering if any one could clarify something with IP multicast. From what I understand to get IP multicast to work the server needs to publish to the router box. So how can this be achieved if the FMS server is not in the same network as the router box? Would it require a second FMS server to be placed in the same network as the router box that connects to the main FMS server?

I am using some severside script ( create a main.asc under application directory) for streaming some pre recorded video files as a live to client. You can think of using a video file for live stream source rather than FMLE .
I follow this helpful instruction in this [URL]..It works perfectly fine if I watch it in rtmp.
But I wonder is this work for hls-live? Right now I am try to stream the content to an iPad.I tried to input the hls-live format URL to the browser URL bar, but seems the server cannot found such live stream event.Such as http://192.168.1.106/hls-live/sstream/a/version1/clientPlayStream
I checked the folder used for hls vod or live, it looks like the documents needed for hls is more than a simple rtmp application. Anybody knows the severside script application is work for HLS ?
I try to do live stream by FMS 4.5.1 and FMLE 3.2 (H.264&MP3 encoding) It's all good no matter video or audio. But after about 30 mins, stream freeze. Refresh doesn't help, only get a black screen without any error message.
restart service or reboot my PC still the same. The only way to fix it is uninstall FMS and Install it again. HDS works again....but same problem happens after 30 mins or a couple of hours.
tried on 2 PC (Win7 x64 & x32) still the same.
My problem and I SWFVerification enabled on the server and saw that FMLE does not connect more, I looked for some explanation and I saw that if that is enabled for SWFVerification you must also change UserAgentExceptions tag <Exception from = "" to =""/> at this point I added this change<Exception From="FME/0.0" to="FME/4.0"/>but I saw FMLE does not connect as little to solve this problem
View 3 RepliesI am in the midst of coding a multiplayer card game. Right now, to make things simple, I limit myself to code for 3 players for one room. The clients call functions in the server and vice versa. Functions such as player's turn, shuffling cards, etc. So what happens if there's more than 1 room? Won't the data from the different rooms get mixed up with one another in the server side, since everything will be happening in just 1 server and on the same function? I am abit confuse on this part. Can someone enlighten me on how different rooms work in a multiplayer game? How do I make sure the data don't get messed up?

I also updated the FMS.ini file in the config folder. Because I am not familiar with FMS, I don't know whether the change is correct or not.

When a connect to the app using rtmp I am able to see the send come thru but if the app uses rtmfp it does notI gone thru all the examples in setting up a mutlicast app and I know the app works because when I publish a video out everyone in the group sees the video. The only thing not working is send. I've also set dataReliable to true.

View 1 RepliesFor the past while, my developer has been working with me on a small project to put together a live interactive whiteboard app, powered by Flash Media Interactive Server. Well, everything is finished & ready to go, but there seems to be a big problem:
The app was developed & tested on a windows machine, while my server and all my website files (to integrate with) is on a Linux system.
It's been a month since this problem arrose, and there had not been any further progress with this project for the time. My developer doesn't seem to know much about how the 'conversion process' works, if there is one.
Do you know if this is possible (to convert a windows-programmed app to work on a linux system)? If so, do you know roughly how it should be handled?
